Needed a place to rant. My firm has completely phased out support for the Mac OS while embracing the use of mobile platforms such as the iPad/iPhone/Droid/etc.(makes no sense right?) So now my computer skills of basically locking down my computer by manually installing certificates for security, encrypting the disk, etc. is no longer a valid way of continuing to work on my MBP or iMac.

 

On the other hand a laptop to crunch numbers with is ~$200 so that beats shelling out $1600-2000 for a Mac hahah

 

Now I'm 1) Going to succumb to Craig's List to sell my laptop with the possibility of getting killed or 2) Just going to toss it up on eBay and eat that 8% fee

 

I guess my loss will be someone else's gain though! RIP Mac Master Race Hipster, hello PC Average Hipster (I feel like those Direct TV vs. Cable commercials now!)

I had to report my mail man recently, my packages have been coming with little peepholes cut through the tape and bent cardboard openings.

 

On top of that my mailman must like to take Fridays off because he marks it delivered.....but its not at my house until Saturday afternoon

 

We will see tomorrow, I have a belt coming from [insert store name].....I'll see if that box is tapered with! or if my mailman is looking more stylish than usual!

heat is broken at work. the repair guy came and said that the heater is broken and no parts are available bc its from 1981 (seriously). yesterday when it started acting up i told my boss that the last 3 times the repair guys have come in theyve warned that we need to replace the unit. he said "no they never said that" so i was like ok u know best.

 

anyway, the guys say its an old unit and needs to be replaced. they left and my boss is like "i just dont think they know how to fix it" so here we sit. in the cold. bc my boss is too cheap to replace a heating system that is 35 years old. yay.

I would go with a Pro-Ject, you can find a Debut III new for ~325 or ~250 used most likely.

there are millions of more important things than worrying about "appropriate" manners on a vinyl forum

 

I spent $25 for Desaparecidos - Payola LP (white tour variant) at their show and that was the last vinyl I bought. Shows that are $15+ are a no go as well

 

It's not the price, but the principal! So buy all my crap before I realize that I'm just being a whiny baby
