It is painful to look at the 10C boards, right now. So many pointless, duplicate threads and idiotic bitching and arguing. I get people are excited, but the barrage of fretting and frothing at the mouth is too much. Thank you for reading my bitch about people bitching post. Had to get it out. Carry on.

My first impression seeing that album artwork? *puke* 'God this is bound to be horrible'...
Then I listened to the single. Wow. That was great. Was energetic. Eddie sounded great. Enjoyed the melody and song structure. Hand up - I'm not a huge PJ fan (other than their early 90's stuff), so I haven't paid attention to really anything they've put out this century. Is this a 'return to form' or in line with their recent stuff?
Honestly, I'm just peeved that I'm going to have to buy this record when it comes out and this artwork is so damn bad.
I was NOT a fan of their last album, except for one odd song. This song, to me, reveals a more powerful sound than we've not seen in a long time. I don't mind their lighter ballad stuff, I was a big fan of the Lightning Bolt album. This new song has me very excited and hopeful that we're going to get a whole album of rocking songs with heavy as hell drums. We will see...

Also, interesting there is no quantity limit.

Damn. Expensive. I didn't feel any need to get the 7 inch. Shipping was stupid, as usual. Can't wait for Mail Innovations to take 10 days to get it from Seattle to Norcal.

New band with Fenriz. Like the music, but couldn't make it through the song because of the vocals. Yikes.

Many people hated this album. I was really surprised how much I liked it when it came out. It's great that a lot of their fans have come around to this sleeper.
I feel sorry for anyone trying to buy this thing. I keep trying, just to see if it goes to checkout. Nope. Glad I have the 12 inch version.

Ignorance is Bliss is getting the 10 incher treatment. Not for me, but maybe you? Will probably sell out quickish.

Huge missed opportunity not making the alt nude cover the scented oneI was thinking the same. Enough people would have gotten offended that it would have generated free publicity.

Now, there is one with a scented cover. I will admit to being an idiot and buying this. Brings me back to grade school and scratch 'n sniff stickers. Damn, I am getting pulled back into this addiction...

Just got an email about the new album with actual pics, and the limited cover one is already sold out. That makes this an easy decision to just stream. Money saved. New song isn't bad.

Caveman's self titled is getting pressed by To Live A Lie. This is a great little EP if you like Bay Area hardcore bands like Spy and Gulch.

Mark is singing. Nice!

Agreed. Every time I see another dumb "news" story about her at a football game I wanna puke. WHO CARES? Gotta also be honest that I am looking forward to selling all of those Folklore variants, that I felt stupid for buying. They just keep going up and up. Kids need all of them for their Insta cred, and I will provide mine when it gets to a certain price level.

Didn't know Allen was playing with them. Interesting.

Re-recording albums seems like the new trend. I don't really understand it. I have yet to hear a re-recorded record that sounded better/or different enough to warrant the energy. I mean TSwift is doing it, but that is because she wants to own her own masters. I get that. This other stuff is whatever.

Nice. Lately I've been dipping my toes into japanese jazz. There's this trombinist named hiro suzuki from the early 70s who realy got me into it. Extremely underrated at the time. Check out "Cat" from 75 I believe. I get a Herbie Hancock/Chick Corea vibe from it. Really good
This is the last track from that album
Definitely listened to you the first time you recommended The Cat. Great album. I still need to buy a copy.

I just came across Japanese trumpet player, Takuya Kuroda. Great funky jazz. They just re-released this record, and it is expensive. I feel it is worth it considering it's a double and the cost of an original is high. First record I've bought in months.

"Post-covid" I really slowed down, but I did get a couple of things I'm stoked on.

Apparently I don't know how to imbed anymore. It's the orange cover DK Fresh Fruit.
Nice! Bought that when it came out. It's part of the reason why my parents took my records away when I was a kid. I was walking around the house singing "I Hate Children" by the Adolescents(singer Tony and I had a laugh about that on Myspace since we both became teachers) and "Kill the Poor". I tried to explain to my parents the real meaning behind that song and the others by DK and they wouldn't have it. LUCKILY, my dad kept the records and I found them in pristine condition about 15 years later.

Another way that I am dealing with FOMO is to tell myself that if I really want that record a year from now, it won't be a big deal to pay say $100+ for it, because I have already saved so much money not buying at standard retail. It all adds up so quickly. I'd rather have one amazing record than 4 that are good or okay. I think this will also make my collection more carefully curated, rather than blind buys of things that I listen to a few times and shelve. I'm actually proud of the self control I have shown, recently.

Wow. What a fucking joke. I would rather just buy an original pressing and enjoy it how it was actually released. Outtakes can be interesting, but in the end I always just listen to the original tracks.
