  1. Eh, the colors look all very similar with little disinction in detail. It almost seems like they got some sort of random pressing and then grouped into "editions" by color similarity. I have too many damn copies of this record already, but I guess if you don't have it could be worth the roll of the dice?
  2. Yeah, that is some good shit. Totally recommend listening to the soundcloud stream. I just had it running in the background while I was surfing around and ended up going to the vitriol site to buy the collected. Can't wait for the DW release.
  3. Not holding my breath on this one. I am thinking sometime in December. Who knows, maybe I will get home and it will be waiting for me...
  4. Never heard that one? I do know that when Darby got back from England he was heavily into the Ants and got the whole mohawk thing going. It's funny to see him with this hawk in Decline of Western Civilization in the crowd.
  5. I know most of the kids on this board may not care about this, but Adam Ant(see Adam and the Ants) is actually touring again. As an old guy I grew up listening to Adam and the Ants even though the hardcore scene hated them- "Black Flag kills ants on contact". I've seen him twice and am looking forward to seeing what this show is like. Tickets for the SF show go on sale Friday.
  6. Does anyone know if this is going to be self-released or will it be on subpop?
  7. So, can someone post an actual picture of this mythical black and white version so I can feel even more bitter that they didn't send me the one I paid for? It's a great 45, no doubt, I just wish they were on their shit.
  8. The thread is back... Cool to hear Jeremy's thoughts on downloading and vinyl. http://youtu.be/q_Z2r6jCkDE
  9. Great record and of course sounds even better on the turntable. I'm glad I got one.
  10. Besides music, I also design, sculpt, and manufacture ceramic "Fine Boozing Vessels". Most designs are limited to around 50 with extremely limited variants, of course. tikikaimuki.com
  11. I guess my questions are is the clear and the blue both recycled vinyl and what does recycled vinyl do to the sound? Good news though!
  12. Wow is right. This is so ridickerous. I need to buy one so I can light it on fire and throw it at the Occupy "anarchists" stinking up my city. Misguided meets misguided molotov.
  13. Agreed, the music is promising, but goddamn that name. And their explanation about how they came up with it makes me hate it even more- How did you come up with your name? That also hearkens back to that first epic jam session in the dorm room. We were saying, "It's dance-y, it sounds like punk," and as I remember it, our drummer Daniel stood up behind his kit and said, "It sounds like dance punk, it's dunk! We should be "Dunk"!" And then somebody else was like, "We should be "Slam Dunk"!" But then Daniel was like, "No, the letter "S gets way too much attention, we should be "Zlam Dunk"!" And the rest is history, as they say. They probably should have set down the bong and opened the windows in their dorm room to air it out a bit.
  14. I thought it was sometime in late November or early December. I remember thinking that I was bummed that I would have to wait that long to spin the new record.
  15. You are quite lucky. It's not the most valuable Blue Note but it's a tough one to find. And those heavy records from the 50s and 60s, especially being DG, play with some deep scratches. What's the address on the label? Is it Lexington or W63rd? West 63rd. To my knowledge, this was never issued with the Lexington address. Definitely not the most valuable, just the one that means the most to me. Blue Note was one of the most consistent labels across all genres. A great early 60's title that seems to get overlooked a lot is "Little Johnny C" by Johnny Coles, a must have.
  16. I feel lucky to have an original deep groove mono of Blue Train. Not mint, but sounds sweet. Would love to find some Hank Mobley originals, but the Mosaic box set of his Blue Note material is really the way to go, unless you are a millionaire.
  17. WOW, what a coincidence! I went to that site and it foretold a dream I was going to have involving the death date of motyleek. I have marked it on my calendar and I plan on having some kind of magical party that day. You're all invited!
  18. I wouldn't say I wrote them off, but I didn't investigate Touche Amore for a while because I thought they were some sort of froofy electronica lounge band. Obviously, not. Also felt that way when I saw the name Junius, it sounded like some electronic club music. Wrong again. Now, whenever I see a thread about someone that I've never heard of, I just check them out to be sure that they suck as much as their name. I love it when I am wrong.
