Anyone have an idea what the relevance to the band is?

Looks dope. I'm gonna have to try an external preamp with my Marantz 1060 to see if such an upgrade would really be worthwhile for me. My buddy has a Bugle2 I'm gonna have to have him bring over for such a trial. Solid state I know, but just trying to get a feel for separates in general in my signal chain.

What were you using before this?

Yeaaaahhhh :-/ Honestly I prefer this type of mix to the alternative. Take Smashing Pumpkins for example, I think I would enjoy the output post-Machina alot more if the vocals were mixed similarly to the earlier material. It just sounds too poppy to me when there is too much emphasis on the vocals. I like when they are treated as any other instrument, with no one thing in the mix drawing my attention away from the others.

Ugh seriously no black variant? Come on. Purposefully went with black on Frogstomp and Neon Ballroom for consistency and quality.

Couldn't find anywhere that this has been discussed yet, but is this their first LP ever without a sequel song (Pt. Two)? I don't see an obviously-named song that fits the bill and I don't hear anything on the album that reminds me of something old either. Someone with a deeper mwY knowledge than mine prove me wrong because I loved the tradition and would be a little bummed if they stopped all of a sudden.

The trick to Steam sales is to watch the stuff on the daily deals and flash sales. Those are guaranteed to be the lowest prices for the duration of the sale. I generally wait until the last day to get stuff unless I see it in those categories. They also usually do an encore of daily deals on the last day of the sale. So far I've grabbed the Outlast Whistlblower DLC and Mirror's Edge for pennies. I also grabbed Duck Game (amazing) which probably won't see a special deal on top of its sale price since it's newly released. The best part about these things is that for less than the cost of one retail console game you can pick up enough stuff to keep you busy at least until the next sale!

I back Blue Jeans 100%. I use their interconnects for my DAC and turntable as well as their speaker wire.

Another great album. It will probably sit ahead of Ten Stories preference-wise for me with time. Closing track delivers.

I'm probably going to buy this instead and hear every song from the original 7 NES titles as it was intended to be heard: during gameplay.

Got my copy of this on lavender. Looks and sounds great! Vinyl has a milky clear color to it. Mastered by Carl Saff. My old band worked with him and he does amazing work at incredible rates. Highly recommended engineer.

Super entertaining movie if you are a fan of the show. Not sure I could recommend it otherwise. Delightfully misogynistic (a lot of people hate on the series for that but it's always clearly been parody). Ari still knows how to tie a necktie correctly and is still the true star of the show. Turtle is way better as a fit millionaire, and I find it hilarious that he still drives the car. Drama's arc is the best he's had in the series. The only thing that was kind of disappointing was E's story. "Are E and Sloan gonna make it work? Are they gonna stay separated?" Pretty much the same cycle as when it was on TV. Really glad Billy shows up late in the movie. I wish that the Jane's Addiction theme song was played way louder. I wanted it to explode out the speakers during the title credits, but they kept the volume pretty tame. Overall though, Ellin and Co. did a pretty great job delivering on the promise. LLLLLLLOYYYYYYYYYYDDD

I'll definitely have to try cold brew if there is a marked flavor difference. I'm not really in love with iced coffee so I never gave it too much thought. I make it mostly for my wife and guests.

Dunno why people hold off on listening to stuff before the LP release. An album is still just a collection of songs no matter how you look at it. Sure sometimes there's a flow or whatever, but hearing a song before release shouldn't taint that. New song is solid. Check it out. It's just music. Don't take it so seriously. Don't forget that it's supposed to be fun.

RE: iced coffee, I hot brew super concentrated stuff in an Aeropress and refrigerate it. It's delicious and it seems easier than fussing with 24+ hour brew times and strainers. Totally recommend a Chemex. I use mine mostly for multiple cup brewing and have the 6-8 cup model with the glass handle. I kind of don't like the look of Chemex brewers with the wood collar and they seem like they'd be more of a hassle to clean. Chemex makes a smaller model that's better suited to single servings. Hario also makes some kind of device for single cup pour over. That's not to say you can't make one serving in a large Chemex. I do it sometimes. Some things to think about.
