    Full Metal Grey here https://metalsucks.indiemerch.com/products/life-is-killing-me

Going to go with the transparent green myself, seems like it should be violation if you buy a color other than green....

Agreed on the green, but I think I’ll prob just go with a standard. Green transparent was the old box set.

From what I can gather the green moss will be the standard retail release, so that's what Amazon and Target will be shipping

I hate shopping big box over indie but it’s hard to spend a $15+ premium.

Yes that 3LP BK is awesome. I compared the MOV to that, but there's no comparison. I I've listened to the World Coming Down, October Rust and Bloody Kisses from the reissues and was pretty impressed with all the ROGs. I've since sold the WCD, Origin and SDH. It's about time I dug into the box.

Aside from any live shit out there, I think I've got everything I need. I don't think I'll be buying the last of the reissues. Now, if we could just get some live stuff...

I think the box set and the subsequent individual album releases with the same cuts are awesome. They sound great, fit the spirit of the band, and did I mention they sound killer? I love the way these ROG cuts sound so much weight and power. Plus the music isn’t half bad…

Wondering if anyone who bought the None More Negative box set still purchasing the reissues? I bought the box but I've been purchasing some of the reissues as well. Ididn't open the box because i hadn't got to it yet. But then the reissues started pouring out. Dunno why, but I bought into it. Colors? I had a change of heart when i started seeing Pete's (*) that I'd already had all of these. So I stopped and sold them except for the orange October the silver MOV Bloody and the triple Bloody. I obviously got the Dead Again reissue. But I'm wondering if anybody else fell down that hole. I mean they're all the same, right? ...

The 3 LP BK is a different cut than the box but other than that, the individuals are the same cuts as the ROG box. I, like you, got the individual OR yellow variant just because, but I haven’t been getting the other individual releases. I did buy a Bloody Kisses, but once I got it, and it was the same cut as the box, I decided not to buy the others, and I recently sold it.

I am thinking about buying the 3LP LIKM because of the extra LP, but that’s a strange comp of songs, that seem to be pulled from all over so not sure I really care.

  4. Life is Killing Me is my most played record of theirs. To me it’s certainly the easiest to listen to start to finish and the most consistent as well. To do that it sacrifices a bit of character(it’s their most straightforward album), but I don’t mind.

I didn’t click on the links, but I’ve pretty much stopped buying everything but my favorite bands new albums and even then I’m usually listening to as much as I can of it before buying. Prices are just too much. And forget about variants, represses, or these days even recuts. I’m good with what I have.

Labels/bands take note, this is how you do an anniversary repress. No lame alternate cover, no 3LPs filled with demos and acoustic tracks. Just the album for those who doesn't have it. So easy.

Edit: lol I forgot they did exactly this with white pony

I'm the opposite. If you're going to celebrate you should be doing extra. I want those demos, acoustics, and remaster.

Anything less is useless. Isn't this album easily purchasable already?

Why does it have to be one or the other? Why not do both so fans can pick what they want? Recent Dirt reissue comes to mind.

I have spun the Walmart red and the black versions, and I don't notice anything odd about the opening of Them Bones. I will listen harder tonight.

I can't believe people are describing the second half of this album as a slog. I can't imagine skipping side C. This album is about as flawless as they come for me.

    I can’t imagine skipping Junkhead.

    Well it's TMV release day.

My vinyl pre-order shipped out yesterday.  I guess I accidentally ordered from the Europe Clouds Hill site instead of US so it'll be a hot minute before I get my copy.

Listening to the album this morning though and I've got to say I'm pretty satisfied so far.  To me, it doesn't sound like anything TMV has ever done.  Definitely doesn't have the energy of Deloused, Frances and Bedlam.  I would say it's most closely resembling of Octahedron and Noctourniquet.  I'm a big fan of those albums just as much as the high-energy TMV so it works out fine for me.

I’ve listen to it a couple of times now, and while I don’t love it, I like it enough to keep it in rotation. It is very different overall. Yes, there are textures, motifs, rhythms, guitar licks, and of course, Cedric’s vocals that sound familiar, it really doesn’t bear any substantial resemblance to past TMV albums.

Playing the Atmos stream forced into my 2 channel setup it sounds very clean, detailed, punchy but still laid back enough to not blow out the experience.

I’ll prob get it on vinyl eventually.

  8. I LOVE TON, so I’m surprising even myself here and NOT getting this. My interest in “The Hobby” has been waning a bit in the last year. Prices are through the roof(in general). Splatter is without a doubt my least favorite (non-picture disc) color way. Don’t care about live songs. I have an OP. I could go on, but no one wants to hear any more of that.

if you need any help being talked out of buying something, I’m your man!

Yeah, AIC never really "did" B-sides or unreleased tracks, even back in the day. And their archives have been picked over pretty ravenously by the Sony vultures (ahem) for a good 2 decades now.
That said, there's a decent amount of non-album stuff they COULD use as B-sides on those singles.... Although, knowing Sony and AIC, this probably won't happen. But all these tracks have been available digitally for years on the Music Bank box.

"Fear The Voices"  (Dirt studio outtake)
"Iron Gland" (Dirt outtake that's a 43-second throwaway)

"Lying Season" (1991 demo, considered for Dirt)

    "Rooster" (1991 demo)

    "Junkhead" (1991 demo)

"What The Hell Have I" (Dirt studio outtake, appeared on Last Action Hero soundtrack)

"A Little Bitter" (Dirt studio outtake, appeared on Last Action Hero soundtrack)

There's also a live version of "Rooster" on the Nothing Safe compilation. And the Last Action Hero tracks already appeared on vinyl on this double RSD 7".... although that's pricey now, I guess.

Good call on all the extras!

  10. I also don’t want to get involved over at SHF, but I think it’s an important thing for those who care. I only care that it’s not disclosed and language that is anywhere from vague to purposely misleading is and has been used. I want it to sound great. I don’t care if it’s digital, but I would like them to honestly disclose their source.

Some of us that pay attention and seek out info have understood that digital has been used to cut most vinyl since the 90’s and a lot was cut from digital in the 80’s too due to final mastering to DAT being a standard in the industry.

True, also the furniture 7” was clear. But we’ll see about the LPs.  I hope they do.

Since we’re doing this, the OP End Hits was also on color vinyl.

I managed to get an order in before they took them down. Based on past experience, there should be no issues with them fulfilling my order.

Really excited to see this on 2LP.  The single LP pressing has always felt a bit flat to me.

I’m not a big MOV fan(I know some are. Cool), but I also didn’t really think much of their single LP version. I’m looking forward to this. I’m guessing it will sound more like the Facelift 2LP.

Happy TMV are back while also accepting it's unlikely I'm gonna dig this record based on the singles

pretty much the same way I didn't care for Antemasque+ATDI reunion

I wish I didn’t like this post but it’s nearly spot on after the three singles just kept sliding further with each one.

I liked Blacklight, as while different was still kind of creepy or dark in its own right and could have been a lighter song on the album similar to The Widow, but no, it doesn’t sound like it at this point.

  14. According to Discogs, this silver press of Fake Train is the same cut as both the box and the black stand alone. Some of the stand alone black and color represses have been recut and by most accounts the recuts are improvements. Even more of a reason for me to pass on the precious, beautiful, cool looking, must have for true fans silver vinyl version.
