I get what you're saying. And I'm just about there too. Me personally I like to have the best sounding version possible of an album (that is if I can afford it). These sound like they're gonna be amazing. Idid buy the Wal-Mart variants just because. But that being said, I don't know if can buy an album every time the licensing gets passed around. I'm in for these tho. But dammit, they'd better be the good...

Yeah first pressing could have easily have 100s of different matrixes.  Between being pressed at multiple plants and/or just being pressed on multiple machines in one plant.  

I would absolutely care if I paid a premium for a record. 
OP, your question was not quite as stupid as the usual ones we get from people, some who are looking for us to write their term paper for them, etc... I didn't even know that you could search using a matrix number. Good to know. Good luck in your search.

That has always been my assumption/understanding as well. For albums that have a ton of copies pressed, over time the stampers (the two plates that press the ball of wax to create the vinyl record) wear out, so they have to make additional stampers to switch out after a certain amount of copies created. Additionally, there could be multiple manufacturing plants producing copies of the same album at the same time, which are sometimes indicated in the matrix info as well.
 
A very detailed documentation of this process can be seen on the Pink Floyd Archives website. The link here is the list of all known US presses of Dark Side Of The Moon, which you can see are listed with many matrices at different pressing plants over different issue periods. Sometimes it can be worth it to search out a 'true 1st pressing' but a lot of times the '1st issue' is basically a grouping of 1st presses and is just as acceptable.

Yeah, this wasn't cheap. Shipping seems to be from Germany I suspect. Didn't like the price of $65 I think, but went for it anyway. Hoping Deliverance is next. 

Yeah, I don't blame you. I am curious how other sellers are approaching it, as (as I already said, I guess) the prices seemed too inflated 1.5 years ago, and the surprising thing to me is that they have kept going up even since then. One classic title we used to buy wholesale for I think $12.85 two years ago is now over $21 from the distributor. Very interested to see how this shakes out and being very cautious in what we buy.

I think the box set and the subsequent individual album releases with the same cuts are awesome. They sound great, fit the spirit of the band, and did I mention they sound killer? I love the way these ROG cuts sound so much weight and power. Plus the music isn’t half bad…

Yes that 3LP BK is awesome. I compared the MOV to that, but there's no comparison. I I've listened to the World Coming Down, October Rust and Bloody Kisses from the reissues and was pretty impressed with all the ROGs. I've since sold the WCD, Origin and SDH. It's about time I dug into the box. 
Aside from any live shit out there, I think I've got everything I need. I don't think I'll be buying the last of the reissues. Now, if we could just get some live stuff...

The 3 LP BK is a different cut than the box but other than that, the individuals are the same cuts as the ROG box. I, like you, got the individual OR yellow variant just because, but I haven’t been getting the other individual releases. I did buy a Bloody Kisses, but once I got it, and it was the same cut as the box, I decided not to buy the others, and I recently sold it.
 
I am thinking about buying the 3LP LIKM because of the extra LP, but that’s a strange comp of songs, that seem to be pulled from all over so not sure I really care. 

I have way too many pressings of this album already so I’ll be passing. Interested to hear the reviews though.

I’d grab an OG if I could justify that price tag. But yah, all are great. I like that they’re all a little different so one version is bound to please various tastes / ears. 
 
The 30th Anniversary is remastered from the digital transfers, so I’m curious how they’ll sound compared to the DMM version. Wonder how different the ‘newly mastered’ version will differ if at all. Probably won’t be able to tell much of a difference personally since it’ll be the same mix I’m assuming. I’m gonna grab this eventually when it goes on sale. I was able to grab the Nevermind box $103 in a pre-order, and I’m sure we’ll all be able to grab In Utero on sale a few months after release. I’ve been seeing the Nevermind one go on sale for ~50% recently, only a year after it came out. 

Good news is all major pressings are good. OP, ORG, B2B, and 20th 3LP are all great.

Life is Killing Me is my most played record of theirs. To me it’s certainly the easiest to listen to start to finish and the most consistent as well. To do that it sacrifices a bit of character(it’s their most straightforward album), but I don’t mind. 
 
I didn’t click on the links, but I’ve pretty much stopped buying everything but my favorite bands new albums and even then I’m usually listening to as much as I can of it before buying. Prices are just too much. And forget about variants, represses, or these days even recuts. I’m good with what I have.

I just can't imagine them spontaneously finding and listing a shit-ton of 2014 stock, especially after Discogs reviews are flooding in to discuss a new press.  But I've been wrong before.  I think there are some pretty clear tells that it's a newer press without even opening the record up.  I'll know tomorrow and get back to you.
Oh yeah, I've been over splatters and zany variants for years now.  Huge sucker for "simple" monochrome variants.  But I still want them to make sense.  Orange to match the font.  "Blood Red Summer" red.  A translucent amber or cream to match the clouds.  Purple and green just ain't it.

You really listen to those awful sounding bedroom demos on vinyl on side F instead of spotify? I really can't see myself to put these kinda songs ever on the table. And these are making the deluxe 70 dollars filled with totally unwanted material and the band put zero effort in it, just milking the fans.  Put these songs on bandcamp for pay what you want.
