  1. Has anyone who picked one up at the show spun it yet and tell us if the sound quality is any good?
  2. I have the vertigo uk 2st pressings. For Vol 4, a Spaceship label version is hard to beat
  3. Looking to get my hands on Star Fucking Hipsters Until we're dead and Never rest in peace vinyl.
  4. Resurrection time - 18 months later i finally got me a new deck after my SP10 mkii finally died. It was the main chip that you cant get a replacement for and not the PSU as i had hoped. Nevertheless, i replaced it with an SL1200G. The SL1200G is brutal in that it really shows up a bad recording. I put on Bloody Kisses from the 1st box set which sound pretty good to my ears on my previous setup, but sounded somewhat flat. I checked again with a record i always use to ensure that my cart and tonearm is set up ok (Tom Waits Closing Time - Sounded great). I then stuck on the ROG version which, disappointingly was slightly more flat. Finally i stuck on the MOV version. For whatever reason i thought this was going to sound similar, just because of it being pressed on silver vinyl. Jeez, what a difference, no idea how the original sounds , but the MOV version is a seriously impressive pressing. I really hope they do more pressings of the other albums in the future if BK is anything to go by.
  5. I think Y&G is great now. I originally thought it was a bit long winded at the time but didn't mind the more melodic direction. But over the years i've really gotten into it more and more. Most of my favourite albums that i keep returning to are the ones that take a while to completely click. Purple was great, bar the production, so have high hopes for this
  6. Would anyone be able to help me out with a copy of the South Park LP. Although it's already ridiculously priced in the States, here in the UK the price is looking to be £200 ($260 ) Absolutely mental!!!
  7. Mods store had the US edition in for a short time yesterday/today - all sold out now! Can get it here though : https://www.amoeba.com/eton-alive-green-vinyl-lp-sleaford-mods/albums/4105161/
  8. My TT PSU should be back with me early next week, hopefully if it gets everything working again, TON bloody kisses was the 1st record i was going to throw on. I was going to do a listening test between the RSD, MOV and the box set version. The box set version has the best image quality - Why did they airbrush the blood off the girls face in the 2 newest editions????
  9. No company will ever say they will do that, especially to someone anonymous via email. Gives customs the green light to start flagging their packages and also get them into bother. FWIW as stated earlier, i'm in the UK and yet to be charged for a TMR release.
  10. Just found out that the Type O - Bloody Kisses was a US release. I realise it's a long shot, but if anyone could get me a copy (I'm in the UK) it would be totally appreciated, i'll throw in some extra for the hassle!
  11. Received mine today as well ( Also to Aberdeen ), absolute steal at that price!
  12. Some Krampus Pic Discs back up for those that missed out http://waxworkrecords.com/collections/vinyl/products/krampus
  13. I thought there was maybe a problem with my stylus, switched to Nick Cave - NMSWP, nope sounded great. Gave the record a clean, still sounds shit.
  14. If they've cancelled it, consider yourself lucky. Finally got to spin it at the weekend and the mastering is terrible. Easily one of the worst, if not the worst sounding records i own. Such a shame, great tunes too.
  15. Received my copy from the Pledgemusic PO, in the UK yesterday, but never had to sign for it. I also noticed the Texas/Germany labeling on the packaging too. Still waiting on other items too, anyone stateside or otherwise received prints or anything yet?
  16. What does your daily food intake look like, i know you said you've drastically cut back on meat, so what has this been replaced with? I'm currently doing a modified 5/3/1/deload, and am eating like a horse to stick around 180lb at around 5'7" at 40 years old and keep making gains. Am just thinking that the 5/3/1 may be hard to work without the good protein from meat and dairy. Also, good to do a deload week, i wish i'd implemented this in my youth, as i'm certain it would have saved me a couple of trips to physio's over the years. You mention going "super heavy" next month, would it not be better to figure out what you want to do (train for size, strength, etc), find a workout plan to suit, get your 1rm's this month and start a fresh next month and take it from there, that way you can track your progression and see if what you're doing is working? BTW 31 is nothing age wise, even at 40 i don't feel i'm too far off what i was around 30, defo need more rest now though, i'm ready for my bed around 8pm nowadays...haha
  17. Apart from the corrugated effect chassis, this could be awesome. If the chassis is just an effect, then that can be easily rectified. As soon as i opened the link and saw the platter, i thought, looks like a modern SP10. Like AllenH commented, if it's anything like one of those, it will be a belter. I have an SP10 mkii and and is by far my fav deck to date. I'm hoping if it is similar that they may have to price it fairly conservitively considering there are plenty of SP10's to be had on the 2nd hand market.
  18. Unfortunately so, here's the email i received when i enquired about shipping to UK: Thanks a lot for your e-mail Unfortunately we are not delivering international, yet If you want we can inform you by mail when we are ready Thanks for your understanding and patience Kind regards Esther Lüthi CeDe-Shop AG
  19. I tried Cede, but alas no shipping outside Germany!
  20. Received 'No more Shall we Part' direct from the Nick Cave store today. Sounds great - so glad to finally have this one vinyl.
  21. I trained almost every week from around 20 to 35. A long slow progression which resulted in some decent lifts before i stopped. My deadlift and squat were always better lifts for me and bench was always my weak spot. When i started back on the 5th, i reckoned for DL i would probably hit 225 for 5 reps. Surprisingly it felt pretty easy, so i kept adding weight and ended up around 280lbs, something similar happened with squats Obviously muscle memory and having a decentish diet during my off time, contributed greatly). To put it into context though, following the Armstrong chin up routine i used to manage 20 rep strict chins, so far i'm struggling to reach 5, also my bench sucks and probably will until the latter part of the year. As for being 40, i dunno, i think it depends how old you feel, i think some folk go, i'm getting old, oh woe is me, whereas i reckon, just get on with it and see what happens.
  22. Started back at the gym on the 5th of Jan after a 5 year lay off (Kids took priority). Kicked the beer on the head (Only been drinking water since) and any processed crap and cut right back on the carbs. Also watched both Fat , sick and nearly dead docs for some motivation and have added juice to my every day diet. What a difference in general well being from the changes, no more lethargy, indigestion and irregular sleep patterns, feel great again (Just turned 40). I pretty much do the 5x5 3 times a week and core work the other days (Sunday off), so far DL - 350, Squat - 275 , Bench - 190 at 180lbs BW. Also, anyone getting into weights i would start to include some rotator cuff excercises, it will help you so much in the long run to keep your shoulders good - unlike mine
  23. Being in the UK i got the euro pressing of Lyre, and there is no difference in sound between the new pressing and the original - to my ears at least.
