  1. Hey VC land- I own a small record store in the Outer Sunset of San Francisco called TunnelRecords. Anyway, we are hosting a record fair at our neighbors cafe; Streamline on Taraval on August 11th from 2-7pm. Should be a fun time with a DJ + food and beer specials. We are looking for anyone who wants to sell, no fee to participate. Should be a fun time! Respond here or message me for more info!
  2. I have a small store in San Francisco and have 2 of these in stock. If you interested DM me and i'll find a way to get it to you. They are not yet up on our site -
  3. I think if you take the Bay Area as a whole there are tons of amazing shops to make the trip worthwhile -in the east bay besides amoeba and rasputin 1234go and contact are great visits -in the city asides from amoeba there are some great shops on valencia st. along with thrillhouse (amazing punk) on mission, tunnel (i'm biased its my shop) way out in the sunset, and on haight rooky ricardo's (i dare you to find a better 45 selection) and groovemerchant (for that white whale soul/jazz record you've been searching for) -in the north bay Red Devil in San Rafael is great for punk, reggae, blues etc while further north the Last Great Record Store in santa rosa always has great stuff. oh and its all in california.
  4. got a bunch in stock at Tunnel Records in San Francisco. More than we wanted to be honest. Spun it over the weekend and it sounded great though!
  5. We just posted our leftover inventory at Tunnel Records in San Francisco- tunnelrecordssf.com just pull down the music icon and sort by most recent. Got a few some folks may be searching for. Best of luck!
  6. Yeah we have a fair amount of used R&B and soul, but limited hip-hop at this point. Great first few days too! lots of the good stuff is flying out but more on the way next week- thanks a ton! been really rewarding to get doors open and see peoples reactions to the shop-
  7. good info here - I actually just opened a record store in the outer sunset of San Francisco 2 days ago! Would love to see a VC'r as well. tunnelrecordssf.com inta @ tunnelrecords but when I'm shopping which is still often outside of the odvious, Amoeba - 1234go on valencia is great. Stranded right across the way has a ton of hard to find more obscure items. Thrillhouse for punk. And if one were to make their way to my shop take some time and go to Western Relics on Irving St. Small shop but expertly curated.
  8. me too! I asked amoeba SF yesterday around 2pm and they stated they only had 5 for the shop. Guessing the initial run was smaller than expected based on that allocation.
  9. Anyone been? There is one this Saturday - trying to decide if its worth the drive and time, can't find much information about it online aside from their very sparse website-
  10. no worries to each his own! Hopefully in the future a club like VMP could have several different genre's, specially areas to choose from for their monthly subscription. In the same way some don't like releases like this others, like myself do not like to retread stuff that i've heard countless times in other formats. Until then discogs and eBay are our friends. I'd just hate for a club like this to simply cater to mass market releases instead of exploring a bit.
  11. Yeah he was a big part of their sound. I'm guessing based on both Martin Courtney and Alex Bleekers records the sound gets a bit folkier, which isn't necessary a bad thing. Their most recent solo record still give me tons of optimism for the lineup.
  12. Such a fan of this release. Personally i've had more than enough of the 90's early 2000 releases of the last year. Obscure challenging areas are what a club should be about! And if your not familiar with this band no worries, the zamrock/late 70's african rock is great! Well worth exploration.
