okay so lets say you have a CD that you love that was never pressed on vinyl. the original label was started by the singer of the band and they have not put out any other release of anything but this one, and they havent updated their website in 3 years. Would it be acceptable to approach the individual about pressing their record? i guess the process would involve access to the master tapes (files?) which i would then forward along to the plants, etc. id be willing to lose money to get this record out, even though i think it could sell a few hundred copies easily. what sort of royalty would be expected in this situation? Thanks up front.

i know why they do it, but insound, for example, ships things as they are available. im not arguing that they shouldnt do it, just that its hard for me to delay gratification, and also that I forget what I ordered

is this the holiday sale? its been going on for a while, picked up some great stuff, they just make you wait when you combine it with a preorder so that sucks

i feel like if this is on sale at bestbuy.com 2 years after street date then there may be more than 500 copies floating around, although i cant find any mention of a repress it does appear as though they released an acoustic version of this on Hopeless last year, not sure if this is what you have or not

my local store (in nashville) has this, and it looks legit. they typically will acknowledge when something is a boot, also. i dont know what to make of it, i certainly hadnt seen it before now, and didnt know about it before this thread

i emailed them about this today, since i ordered on 8/26 here was the response im not trying to sell them out, just letting others know that this happened once and could happen again, for people still waiting, especially those who ordered Day 1

caspian - tertia black/100 very quick turnaround from TMS sigur ros - agaetis byrjun (1st) btw does anyone know what the sleeves were like on that sigur ros 1st press? My discs were sent in VRP Discwasher inners, with no other sleeve. kind of bummed if there was an original sleeve
