  1. Yep. I have a NM copy of The Bronx 'I' lp that I never really listen to, but don't really feel like selling. I know a lot of folks on here want it though, and I *would* be open to trading it provided someone was willing to trade me something I actually want. What I want is 'Until Your Heart Stops' on clear, although I'd settle for the blue/orange. Hit me up if you're interested.
  2. do you have an original Caroline pressing of WNITA? are you thinking of upgrading to a cleaner copy because yours is beat to hell? sell it to me to finance the upgrade! a long shot, i know. i have an original copy, but the jacket was destroyed (long story). anyone? anyone? Bueller?
  3. pics! give me something to ogle at work that ISN'T the 'ass appreciation thread'!!!!!!
  4. does what it says on the tin! it's 'holiday season' and i suspect more than a few of us have friends who would appreciate truly badass records, so please share your pics for this year's most awesome / absurd packaging. bonus points if they're still available, since that's half the point. my selection: Inquisition - Ominous Doctrines Of The Perpetual Mystical Macrocosm 'deluxe' version [Hells Headbangers] your turn!!
  5. time-travel back to 2001 and pick up the Defiance version for $14 on Interpunk - that's what I did.
  6. is that Niege? i'm stumped by the radical departure from the art style. pretty lame, imo
  7. ^^^ It's worth noting that my spreadsheet is alphabetical, but color-coded by genre. I put off getting a smartphone for a long time, but I have to say that GoogleDocs + shopping = awesome. No more wondering "do I have this? fuck, i miiiight". So that's alpha for ease of reference.
  8. Hence my decision to invent genres. Half the fun, I think, is pulling a record out from -oh, let's say- the "punk" section, playing it, and then debating whether it goes back from whence it came, or if it makes more sense in the "hipsters" section. Have a ton of "techno" singles? Group that shit by proximity to Detroit & Miami! Do whatever you want all the time.
  9. I switched to 'genres' about 2 years ago because I'm a pretentious aesthete and didn't like the way certain records looked next to eachother. (I also got rid of a lot of records because they had art I deemed ugly > hate on) Eventually I switched to made up genres for my own amusement / maximum aesthetic flow.
  10. is that Pig Destroyer lp JUST Natasha (REL7024) or is it Terrifier (REL6618)? Will def buy if it's the latter!
  11. Michael Jordan is definitely a candidate for Worst Actor Ever. And yes, I realize that greenscreen is harder than doing everything with other human beings (unless you're Brendan Fraser), but Jordan is on some next-level blank slate shit.
  12. would consider parting with this for the right amount / trade..
  13. hoping at least one of the shops here gets these soon. gettin' anxious to grab one..
  14. i think you meant "early 21st century hardcore"
  15. As far as 'where to start, I'd argue that you need to listen to both Amplifier Worship and Rainbow to get a sense of what they're up to. some notes: Absolutego, Dronevil, Solomon, Feedbacker, & Flood are all 'one long song' albums. I've listed them in order of 'heaviness', with Flood being the prettiest & most psych-influenced of the bunch. Amplifier Worship serves as a bridge between those sludgy epics and the psych-punk of Heavy Rocks, Akuma No Uta, & Pink. It sounds like a Khanate LP played on '45 and is fucking awesome. Heavy, Akuma, & Pink all sound like a mix of Venom and The Stooges. Vein takes the Venom influence to it's natural conclusion while Smile opts for The Stooges/Iggy. After that, things will be hit-or-miss depending on your taste. They also have a ton of 'collaborations'. Rainbow (w Michio Kurehara) is gorgeous, Altar (w Sunn) is equally epic. Those two are sort of a day/night pair. The albums with Merzbow are prob good if you like Merzbow, and the BXI collab is fucking awful - don't go anywhere near it.
  16. will def check this out when i get home. worth noting that MOST releases on DeSoto were rad & ought to be on vinyl. damn those 1990's..
  17. a small sale to free up some space. everything is in VG+ to EX condition with imperfections noted. trades also welcome (a small batch of wants are listed further down). 18. i'll vouch for Evan. know him personally, good dude. i'll bug him to update the thread.
  19. saw that 'SELF' lp at Reckless in Chicago a few months ago for $40 or $50. someone snatched it up, but price-wise that's not so bad. of course a lot of the records in this thread don't sell for all that much WHEN THEY SHOW UP, it's that they DON'T show up anywhere. I've scored a few of my past whales for next to nothing (Rolling Scabs 7" comes to mind), but had to wait YEARS to stumble across 'em in used bins. So many Ebay 'saved searches' with nary a result.
  20. stock Nidingr - Wolf Father cd (and/or license it for vinyl)!!!
  21. think of all the Gaslight / Touche / TitleFight / Whatever records you could buy with all this $$$!!
  22. way old but worth downloading: Social Justice - Refuse To Lose 7" solid 90's hxc with a clear hip-hop influence that would eventually overwhelm the band as they morphed into the AWFUL nu-metal group Downset (although it could be argued that Cold World simply perfected the formula Downset laid out). great 7" though, complete with an Inside Out cover.
