On one of his live albums he talks about the song "Gray Room" and how he didn't just want to write really sad shit anymore. It's dark when you're a songwriter and you get pigeonholed into writing only sad songs. It's like people expect only sad minor-key shit from him. He said he was ready to get out of that. If he makes a happy album people will be resistant to the change. Hell, I'm not sure how I'd feel about that. I'm really looking forward to this album. I've really enjoyed his past albums.

Good soundtracks to get: the soundtracks for movies that you like?

I am looking for a copy of the Gravity variant. I have copies of several Mondo soundtracks on black and a few Waxwork soundtracks too that I'd be willing to trade for it. I would trade multiple records for it. I just couldn't order because I moved recently and had to wait until I found a job and the record sold out literally the day I got a job. Would have ordered two copies too...

Ordered 2. Both were black. Seriously disappointed on this one. Other than the Omen (which had a much lower chance of getting a variant), this is the only time I've ordered two and not gotten a variant. If anyone has a dilophosaurus variant they'd be willing to sell near cost or trade for some non-variant Mondo or Waxwork soundtracks, let me know.

has anyone seen a copy of the Paranorman OST at retail? Wondering if I should keep an eye out. Knowing that the variant copies have stickers on them it would be nice to find one retail without having to take the online ordering gamble as I've gotten lots of variants at various retail record stores...

don't check this album out. it's a wanna be stadium nu-metal album. from wikipedia "Through more touring, the band came in contact with Sum 41 manager/producer Greig Nori, and signed with his management/production company.[1] While working with Nori, the band developed a more radio friendly edge to their sound and signed to Machine Shop Records, a label founded by Linkin Park, and distributed through Warner Bros. Records. Suffer, Survive was released in late 2004." It's definitely wanna be Linkin Park. Bums me the hell out. I remember seeing this band cover Warzone in an American Legion hall and ripping it up the several times I saw them before this album came out. I understand if they wanted to try to appeal to larger audiences and make money, but this just sucked. not to mention the following quote from Ben Cook (the singer) around the release of their 7" last year... He also told Exclaim! that there are no plans on playing live. Direct quote from the man himself: "I have no interest playing live. I don't want dudes yelling in my face or jumping on me."
