  1. Any thoughts on this one? I'm not far from the Needle Doctor for any potential repairs. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/hnp/ele/2796874239.html
  2. It took you a few days to figure out what QOTSA stood for?
  3. I gotta check these guys out. I've only heard of them, but any band that has Katatonia(Gods IMO) as an influence probably kicks ass.
  4. I've seen many auctions with the exact same issue, and the sellers usually have something like (huge bold font) 'USA/North America ship $ is NOT $4 - please wait until you have been invoiced before submitting Paypal' in the details. If people are paying attention and reading your listing before they bid, which they should be doing anyways, you shouldn't have an issue.
  5. I'm not a big paypal user, but whenever I have got payment there I've immediately transferred it to my checking account. Would that protect against someone trying to rip you off by doing that and not shipping until that occurs?
  6. Nice! I'm looking at comparable models. Insound also has 15% off everything in their store, which is making a few models more affordable for me. Not trying to advertise for them...just throwin it out there - I've never bought from them.
  7. *Disclaimer - I know next to nothing, but I'll throw in my .02 from what I've learned since I'm also looking to buy a turntable with about the same budget. There is a sticky thread that has some good info as well: http://vinylcollective.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=53959 For a bit over $200, the audio-technica lp120 has a built in pre-amp, so if you wanted to stay well under your budget you'd only have to buy some powered speakers. There are powered speakers that I've seen rated very high, like the Audioengine A2's, which are around $200 as well. I think that if you want to not have to buy a separate pre-amp you might be looking at some of the USB models - this is all assuming you do buy new. I've also read that the Music Hall and Project entry level models use many of the same parts? Just ask questions and spin some vinyl on all of them to see what differences you can hear. Good luck!
  8. Surely you jest There are thousands of Leaf fans at every road game they play, and they're not all Canadians on vacation. I'm Minnesotan, so I root for the Wild unless they're playing the Leafs. But I do get why they're hated(overexposure in part). I guess you wouldn't have cared for my old Leafs room: http://www.brianandtrish.com/chexx.htm
  9. My only hope is my Amazon.ca order which from 12/10 which hasn't been cancelled yet.
  10. Where did you find it for that price? I'm looking to dive in soon. I see a site called thenerds.net has it for $365 + ship, but I've never heard of them. All others are over $450.
  11. Thank you both for the FYI on the insert. See, I'm on here 2 days and I already learned something Seeing as I've seen these go for $200+ on ebay lately(with or without insert), that one on Discogs might be a decent option.
  12. Hey everyone - first post but wanting to start collecting vinyl again since it's what I grew up on. I realize this one is a longshot, but will pay very well for one in nice condition with the feather insert. Someone has one for sale on Discogs for $150(no insert), so I know I'll need to go well beyond that. Thanks!
