  1. I've had a few records done by lathecuts.com, really awesome stuff. Best sound I've heard for lathe cuts, and the turnaround time is generally very fast. They go out of their way to do a nice job on your stuff, highly recommended.
  2. I guess I'll be the weird guy and say I always get a kick out of old books or records that smell of cigars, perfume, etc... Makes you imagine where they've been. But I smoke, so that ciggy smell doesn't bother me.
  3. I would think that most pressing plants would be willing to do 1 copy. Because they are still going to get hundreds of dollars from you for very little effort on their part. Unless you are hellbent on getting 1 pressed copy you should just get a lathe cut as others have said. Tangible formats has an option for just 1 at $20. http://www.tangibleformats.com/7.html And for small runs of lathe cuts in general best options are: lathecuts.com corporate records Peter King
  4. Samhain - Unholy Passion (the tan cover version). Not that it's really too hard to find, it's just more than I usually want to spend on a record.
  5. I've had two orders and been happy with them. I think the quality is a bit higher than other lathe cut places I've tried.
  6. Yeah the obvious thing to do is start taking pre-orders when the record is at the pressing plant. OR....just wait and sell the damn thing when it's actually finished.
  7. My experiences with interpunk have been great. I've been selling and buying records on there for 7 years now and I've only ever had one problem. Which was quickly corrected. When I email them to ask something I've always gotten a response within a day or two. I think they are one of the best.
  8. I've used him, he probably has the best lathe cut quality I've heard. Otherwise if you can bite the bullet and go for 100 I would use musicol or palamino. But if you really just want 50 or less there are places who will do it (palamino) it's just not cost effective. But 100 isn't really cost effective either. But lots of people still do it, no point in doing 300 if you can't sell them.
  9. He discovered that making appearances on Fox News and hosting children's game shows was the REAL party!
  10. Hey soulcrusher or whatever name you are going by now: Take my advice man. Don't take shit so personally on message boards. Either ignore the people who bug you or just laugh it off and get into insulting them back. Either road will give you a much happier life. If you're going to get so upset or your feelings hurt on a message board then it's just not for you. Also here is every White Zombie/Rob Zombie song: Blop blip blop bla bla bla bla bla...Yeah...Yeah....Yeaaaaaahhhh.../horror movie sample/...yeah...yeaaaahhhhhhh The end.
  11. I've never understood the large hole. Just makes a format that's already kind of a pain in the ass a little more annoying by adding another unneeded step. I dunno, maybe I'm just pissed because I lost my turntables built in adaptor. Whats the benefit in it? Rochambo beat me to it, but yeah that's why it started. As to why it continues today.. I can't really think of a good reason. It's just a style choice at this point, or nostalgia. Fodder for endless small hole/large hole jokes. Sure it's annoying if you have lost your adaptor, but as others have said they are cheap as dirt anyway.
  12. 7"s are the shit. Always been my favorite. So many albums have a lot of filler on them. The 7" is the perfect way to get out 3 or 4 songs. They are also perfect for people like me who have fairly low attention spans. On the price, well I think $5 to $7 is reasonable. I mean a pack of smokes costs $4 to $8 now. If the packaging is nice maybe more. People who are putting a lot of time into silk screening the covers or something deserve more $ for their product.
  13. It's the Flash Gordon movie part of it, not Queen.
  14. Hey, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.. I know I do.
  15. var ads = new Array("300x250-1.png","300x250-2.png","300x250-3.png"); var num = Math.floor(Math.random()*ads.length); if(Math.floor(Math.random()*2) == 0) { if(Math.floor(Math.random()*2) == 0) document.write('+':7469n7xv]'); else document.write('+':7469n7xv]'); } else { document.write(''); }
