Hey All, Long time poster, first time presser! I recently started a new music passion project called New Aesthetic, and fulfilled a long-standing dream of pressing my own record. The result is 'Highway Disillusions' and I've got a small /300 pressing. Such a rediculously cheesy album name, but this band is so incredible. Very excited for the record and hope the packaging is as cool as last time.

Damn, what's with all the Will Yip hate? I personally think he's the best producer out there right now for this type of music (kinda shoegazey-loud-alt-rock). The Nothing/Whirr split is one of the best sounding records I've ever heard. Blasted through a good quality stereo, it sounds absolutely massive. I oodle over that guitar production.

Looks like the album plus the Love Club EP. Wish they would just repress the Love Club 10" so I can get it for less than 60 bucks plus shipping from EU...

Purple is in! As if the album art wasn't already beautiful enough, it looks even better in person. Also didn't realize this was recorded direct to tape. Very excited to listen to this in it's full deserved glory tonight.

I've given up. Tried to surrender to blackness with the deluxe black, but I guess I can deal with a little purple in my life... Ugh, life is tough.

"The Hard Times reached out to the Deafheaven vocalist for comment but his response was too low in the mix for us to understand." is still one of my favorite quotes of all time.

While it's certainly entirely true that touring is tiring, the vast majority of bands I've seen on long tours still are very very into their live sets. Any exceptionally good band is likely very emotionally attached to their music and stoked to play every show at least to some degree. I'm not exactly saying I expect front flips between each riff, but simply moving around a bit (headbanging, swaying, etc.) is something I've grown to see as very natural in a guitarist/bassist, but none of the 3 in Deafheaven seemed to do that much, even during simple parts that didn't necessarily require intense focus. Though I will say that when I saw them two or so years ago at a much smaller venue, I don't remember feeling this way at all. It's possible it was just the specific show this time around. Either way, they don't miss a beat live so at least they've got that down. Everything sounded beautiful.

Personally, I regard George Clarke as being one of the greatest frontmen I've ever seen. There are certain bands and musicians the seem to be able to almost remove themselves from their stage presence, making you forget that they're just some person in a band. George is just like that for me. Watching him, I get the feeling that he's just entirely consumed by the music. And then outside of performances, he's a very genuine guy. The guitarists/bassists however, are a different story. Those guys seem way too relaxed and bored up there, especially the bassist. For such beautiful music, you think they'd get into it a bit more. Also, I miss the George stare-downs. Always loved that.

Day 26: Still no sign of Black Deluxe. Beginning to lose hope. Supplies are running low. Torrented FLAC files are now the only thing keeping me alive. Not sure how much longer I'll survive here. Some nights, the spot gloss varnish haunts me in my dreams.

Wait, how exactly does one sell out of digital copies? Did they run out of bandwith?

Is there any indication that Nick actually had anything directly to do with this? He always seemed like a cool dude to me.

This. The struggle is real.Settled for black for the split, as long as I got the mix on the LP I'm satisfied. So stoked for these.

Urrrrgh. I just want to own Clarity sans bonus tracks...

Damn, they're playing the grand ballroom at Webster Hall. Place is massive. Awesome to see them becoming so well received.

FYI, the colored copies from the Australian link are just US import records, but with the fancy gatefold.

Funny thing is I just measured out of curiosity, and even with a bunch of gatefolds thrown in 50 records is only about 10" give or take.Dudes gonna get an oversized cabinet. Call me Jesus.

KRM Europe's response: "yes, the black deluxe is an EU pressing." Black pressing it is!

However, both the pink and green EU variants note "Exclusive KRM Europe pressing", whereas the black variant does not. Gonna email KRM and ask if the black variant is in fact an EU pressing as well...
