  1. This is how I felt too. I listened to it a couple of times on streaming when it first came out and thought it was fine, but then kind of forgot about it. But, then I was going to go see them when they came though my town, so I gave it another try and found it a lot more enjoyable. I’m into it.
  2. Haha, yeah, that’s what I thought too. I looked it up and saw $44 and thought “oh well, I guess I’ll just get one of the uglier splatter versions,” expecting those to be $10+ cheaper. But then saw that those were $45?!! So I went with the clear.
  3. https://shop.brooklynvegan.com/products/hopesfall-the-satellite-years-2lp-limited-edition-only-500-made-clear-vinyl Clear vinyl version out of 500 available from BrooklynVegan.
  4. I’d say that I like it overall, but there are a few misses on it for me. I haven’t really been able to get into the talk-singing that John does on Beneath the Rose and Choir. I like other bands that sing like that but so far it hasn’t clicked for me when he does it. Then there are a couple of the mellower songs that seem more like interludes than actual songs, so it makes it feel like there are only 4 or 5 actual songs on the album. It makes it feel kind of short. But, it’s growing on me.
  5. I was able to grab one right before they sold out. I wonder if these are the same versions they had for sale at the festival this weekend?
  6. New WPC release on Madame Zuzus. “Candide- Live at Zuzu’s 2.8.2015”. I was semi-interested when I got the email yesterday, but it’s an improvisational synth track, so I’m probably out for $90 (or $225 signed). Candide’ by Voltaire: A captivating improvisational synthesizer soundtrack by William Patrick Corgan. A true collector's piece! Experience the best moments from the historic live synthesizer show at Madame ZuZu’s (February 8, 2015). Now on a stunning aquamarine green vinyl. Limited Edition of 2000 in Aquamarine Vinyl Ships within 2 weeks ALL SALES ARE FINAL https://madamezuzus.com/collections/candide?omnisendContactID=60b31455bac16e11df073d10&utm_campaign=campaign%3A++Candide+email+blast+(64d516ce91cf41ce883322ed)&utm_medium=email&utm_source=omnisend
  7. Haha, out of all of the records I’ve bought from them, I think those are the only 2 that have ever had any issues. But, they were super quick to send replacements and get everything corrected, so I’d say it was a positive from a customer service angle. Everything else has been good quality. They are definitely overpriced though. I don’t usually buy from them if it’s just a unique color of a new record that’s available everywhere else, because it’s usually more than $10 cheaper everywhere else. But I’ve bought a lot of their record of the month releases, and I’ve always been pretty impressed (though those are also overpriced).
  8. I'm interested to see how it goes. I've almost always received really good sounding records from VMP, while Mondo didn't have the best track record for that. So, I'm hoping that it'll be the good parts of Mondo (cool album art) with the good parts of VMP (pretty good sounding records). Unfortunately, both companies have always been pretty overpriced, so I expect that will continue.
  9. Kind of the same here. It’s been a while since I’ve listened to it so I’ll have to give it another listen, but I remember being so excited for this when it was first announced, being a big fan of everyone’s previous work, but then it never quite clicked for me or lived up to the expectations of how good I thought it should be. But, I probably had unfair expectations of it.
  10. From their Twitter: “The response to this record has been really overwhelming, we are gonna go ahead with a second pressing of 500. Same as always mailing list will get first crack at it.”
  11. I’m seeing them tomorrow night in Salt Lake and I’m super excited for it. I’m pumped to hear the good reviews.
  12. Nice, I’m looking forward to this one (but not looking forward to the price).
  13. I’d be interested in checking this out. I’ve never really listened to his ‘70s albums, so I’ll have to do a deep dive and check them out.
  14. I actually thought First Ditch Effort was pretty decent, as far as new NOFX music goes. But neither Single or Double Album really did anything for me.
