Wood and standard black available in the store. There also appears to be some kind of fruit punch colored version that I think is the indie exclusive.  Shipping is a killer.

Agreed on the shipping, $9. With tax and shipping $35 ends up $47.

Sold out now, lasted longer than I thought. I guess they ultimately sold 3500 copies of a record that has been readily available on vinyl for awhile, but makes you wonder if $49 shipped for records is starting to put a dent in demand…

I'm all over the newest Vault package. I remember having a white label (maybe a bootleg?) version of this in my hands at a record store 10 years ago and I didn't buy it. It's one of my biggest record buying regrets.

This is a quite famous (infamous?) White Stripes record. It was originally recorded as a promo white label distributed amongst radio personnel. I remember being at Third Man Records in Nashville for the tri-color release of the Jack White “Fly Farm Blues” and seeing this on the wall and the guy in front of me buying it. This was August 2009 and I believe it was $300 or $350.

I was in no position as a college student to drop that kind of money for something like this, but I will say that it kind of feels like it slipped through my hands that day.  So I understand what you are saying here. Very excited to see this because I figured this would elude me forever.

When can we expect online sales to start?

Plaid Room Records still seems to have most everything in stock, will start selling tomorrow morning at 0800 Eastern. They also have their stock numbers on every item, so you should be able to get a good idea of what will be around in the morning. Free shipping over $50, package everything like a tank. They are my go to.

  5. Definitely not worth it anymore. They have raised the prices again this year. I resigned for a year last fall when they offered the lower price and $150 in credit for a 1 year membership. It has been really frustrating as it isn’t the easiest to use the credit (I.e. they do not allow you to use your credit to get the sale price when they do the occasional sale. If you want the sale price, bring your cash, using credit means paying full price,) their non-album-of-the-month exclusives are very expensive (for example, The New Pornographers upcoming release is $21-23 for the indie variant everywhere, $38 for the MEMBER rate for the VMP exclusive) and the selections to swap to are getting more narrow into the VMP leftovers from years past.
It does look like they have expanded the list of bonus records you can choose from, originally about 80 to around 250 now.

  6. Thought this might be of some interest to some here… I can’t get images to load here.

Jack White triple vinyl collectors set housed in a box and featuring his two hit albums from 2022 Fear of The Dawn / Entering Heaven Alive plus a bonus disc of live tracks from White's already legendary 2021 performance on Damien Hirst's balcony in Soho, London.

Back in April Mr White dropped the first of two albums promised for 2022. Fear Of The Dawn - as we said - came out all guns blazing as he seemed to rip up his own rule book and put it back together with some serious riffs, killer tunes and some exceptional studio magic. Like The Stooges in a cosmic glam punch up with Funkadelic it's completely wonky, thunderous and a whole lot of fun. Then in July we got Entering Heaven Alive where our Jack turned back to what we all know and love but still with just enough slant to elevate himself above everyone else. Here he turns his machines off and drops track after track of undisputed gold. It's still got it's left field surprises though - check the outstanding 'I've Got You Surrounded (With My Love)' for proof of that.

He basically made two albums that any other artist or band would kill for just one of! Just a talented young man and an absolute don.

Oh yeah - he opened a Third Man store in London's Soho too. A truly wonderful place we couldn't recommend more. On it's opening day he surprised everyone with a five song set from Damien Hurst's balcony, ripping through 'Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground', 'Lazaretto', 'Steady, As She Goes', 'We're Going To Be Friends' and 'Seven Nation Army' which are all included on this very special release. If you were there, you'll know how fantastic it was. Didn't get shut down either. Magic.

  7. I was there yesterday, and I haven’t read anything online as it sounds some of you may have with regards to merch sales/band revenues, but I will say that I have been to hundreds of shows large and small over the past 20 years. My wife really wanted to go, she wanted to experience all of the bands she has listened to her whole life, was most excited for Paramore who played late in the evening. The way everything was organized, with a GA ticket ($350) it was difficult to see anything. The first 150 feet in front of the stages was “VIP.” My wife was ready to leave long before Paramore took the stage. We stuck it out, but we both agreed we would never go back.
