  1. You should send an email to Matt from Earth Analog Records (and Hum). He used a Vinyl Flat with the leftover Hum vinyl he was/is selling. This is what his site said about it: * I am opening each record and making sure it will play ok on a decent turntable. Any record which does not perform well gets flattened using a device I purchased called the Vinyl Flat. It’s safe for the record and, in all cases so far, it’s worked. (Thank you to the nice folks at Vinyl Flat for loaning me a second one of these to help speed up the process!)
  2. Got my order today. The only thing I'm bummed about is the absence of No Knife - Hitman Dreams. Received: Porcelain Raft - Strange Weekend White Denim - Takes Place in Your Work Space Rilo Kiley - More Adventurous Last Days of April - Ascend to the Stars Menomena - Moms Patrick Park - Come What Will Silver Scooter - Orleans Parish All for $55! Awesome sale. Also missed out on Braid, Old Canes, The Faint and Interpol.
  3. Sun Kil Moon - Tiny Cities tour only white vinyl...didn't even get much for it.
  4. It's funny that it's confusing to everyone. Similar to you, I couldn't help but feel everyone that was complaining must be impossible to please, because I didn't notice anything. I can't speak on Oceania, but I don't think this issue has to do with the turntable. My setup is super cheap, but the whole record (including Zero) sounds great. My best guess is that it's simply a pressing flaw that affected a large number of copies.
  5. I really wish I could hear someone's messed up copy of Mellon Collie. Maybe I got lucky. Mine sounds great all the way through. That, or maybe I have a really untrained ear, but people seem to say it's extremely noticeable.
  6. I'll definitely let you know. I don't think I would be surprised either way. I don't think they were ever appreciated as much as they should have been, so it's almost not surprising to see one of their records hiding in a big online distro. Needed Hit Man Dreams, so I'll be pumped if it comes through.
  7. This sale is awesome. I added everything I wanted to my cart last night...a little over $350. Trimmed it down to a purchase of around $130...including No Knife - Hit Man Dreams for $7.85...one more copy left.
  8. I'd love to own those too! It was roughly $20 including shipping. It was 15.5 EUR, which you can paypal to them.
  9. Love Fireside! I bought Uomini d'onore last year directly from the label. Looks like you still can: http://stickman-records.com/
  10. Make sure to check discogs periodically. Bought a loser edition last night on there for $21.
  11. Thanks for clarifying! I must have been on their Big Cartel store when I saw it was sold out.
  12. I tried pressing this a few years ago, and got shut down pretty quickly. Stephen & crew preferred to keep it unpressed.
  13. Not sure if anyone has been holding out on this. But I think it's about to be OOP. It's sold out again in The Wrens store. I found it last week on http://www.kungfunation.com/products/2796-the-meadowlands-vinyl-lp-wrn03 and I received it yesterday.
  14. I thought there may be a few of you that will want to jump on this. It's a very limited comp (300 copies) featuring some great artists, including Will Johnson (Centro-matic), Zookeeper (Mineral, The Gloria Record) Ovenbirds (Zykos) and Victor Villarreal (Cap'n Jazz, Joan of Arc). Should be pretty awesome. http://www.misterhim.com/product/the-formal-listening-series-lp Side A 1. Will Johnson ''Governess / Villainess'' 2. Quien es BOOM! ''Gene's Salvation'' 3. Zookeper ''When I Had My Legs'' 4. Ovenbirds ''Ouroboros'' 5. ((Sounder)) ''Well Turn The Coffins Into Gardens'' Side B 1. Aaron Blount ''Orphan In Bloom'' 2. Annabella ''Goldminer's Creek'' 3. JBe ''Hot Coals Shine'' 4. Victor Villarreal ''Nuclear xoxo Bomb'' 5. Gold Beach ''Diving Bell''
  15. Same. I'm exicited to see them in about a month. The new record should sound great live.
  16. I'm new to posting, but not to the board. Good to see Cully is getting a little love. I've known him for a few years. Great guy and great drummer. He's got a nice resume. You can find his drumming on releases from Zookeeper, Bishop Allen, The Gutter Twins, Twilight Singers, Zykos and Shearwater. He's the full time drummer for Cursive and Okkervil River now. Pretty busy guy.
