  1. My initial reaction is the same. Phoenix was amazing, but I admit that all of David's albums are big growers for me. I'm hoping this hits a lot harder after a few more listens.
  2. The new mix sounds like it was leaning into clarity and more sparkling top end compared to the original. I honestly may prefer the original for it's vibe, but this is an interesting alternative.
  3. Anyone expecting this to be anything more than an overpriced/oversized CD is fooling themselves.
  4. I recently listened to my copy again and it has no defects. Very clean. I love this mix.
  5. oof, that cover art... These songs are really forgettable. I could probably put together an album of decent songs from the last several albums, but mostly Coheed doesn't really have any magic for me anymore. I still listen to SSTB regularly - I love the raw energy and production on that album. More recent albums have only been purchased when I find them in the used bin.
  6. I bought the Vols I & II CD set at a Circuit City on release day. That statement does not make sense anymore.
  7. Yeah, the fact that Kristen reached out to at least some of them and was ignored is super shitty. Fuck these dudes.
  8. I'm over color vinyl in general. Splits and especially tri-color splits can fuck right off. Occasionally I get a color variant that I think looks great, and fits the album well, but most of it is trashy looking and has the potential to compromise the audio.
  9. WTF. Fuck that guy. I don't understand how people like this exist.
  10. This album is really solid. I think it's their best post-reunion material. I will probably end up picking this up eventually.
  11. For anyone who missed out on the Dirty Three Oceans Songs boxset a few months ago: Touch & Go just put some leftover copies up on their webstore. Really happy to order one, but I'll be more relieved when it actually shows up.
  12. That's debatable. It's arguments like this that drive prices for boots to $75. Both prices are stupid.
  13. repress of Electra is huge news. I wonder if it will be complete in terms of the bonus tracks released across different CD versions. I have an original, but will gladly double dip
  14. ^ this. I want to buy their albums, but this shit is annoying. I don't give a shit about color vinyl, but a $15 upcharge is bananas.
  15. This song has some The New What Next vibes, which I know is divisive for some, but I love it. Really curious to hear more now.
  16. That sounds really decent. Like others, I wasn't into the last album. This sounds promising though!
  17. eh. I really liked There are Rules. The Simple Science EP is pretty solid too. I couldn't get into Problems, mostly because of the brick-walled production. I may be tempted to double dip on this to get the unreleased songs
  18. Glad these are available again, but really not a fan of that artwork. Glad I have a copy with the original art.
  19. I would love to see that Rock Action box happen. The Rave Tapes and HWND boxes are great, and they seem to use that same box style for all their deluxe editions (just varying depth). YT is the only box I am missing, aside from the Central Belters comp, which seemed unnecessary. I'd love to see them go all out for an updated Young Team deluxe box set.
