  1. same for me. when I first heard the record I had mixed feelings. It's really chill. But seeing them perform recently really sold it for me. Loving it.
  2. awesome package. really heavy gatefold, and nice picture sleeves. The clear vinyl is not totally transparent, it's like frosted glass. lovely. now to put it on the turntable
  3. I didn't think this was getting a vinyl release. Do you have a link for the LP pre order? or did you mean 3CD?
  4. yeah, I got my confirmation last week. Looks like it's out for delivery today!!! I can post pics of the clear version when I get home tonight. Can't wait to spin this
  5. I think what is creating a difference in perception is the difference in the source material. WATT was beautifully recorded and mastered, and sounds quite nice on CD. I think that expectations were high for a vinyl edition. Without remastering it for vinyl, there is not going to be much gain for people, and if there is any amount of surface noise, it will probably be perceived poorly ACBtLD on the other hand, sounds like crap on CD. It's terribly mixed, and suffers badly from clipping. A vinyl release of this, even if not remastered may sound slightly warmer and better to a lot of listeners, given there isn't a ton of surface noise. It's not really a fair comparison.
  6. I haven't heard either yet, so I'm reserving judgment, but I still find it hard to believe that ACBtLD sounded great - which is no fault of the press
  7. don't know, but seems unlikely. that one was the variant they were posting the most images of, and first.
  8. nice. I knew there were 4 versions, but why do they keep saying there are 3? anyone know how many of each were made?
  9. right, but remastering is one thing, and box sets are another.
  10. yeah, I hated the mixes. I'll stick with the original copies. I did like what they did on Prototypes and Painkillers though. These Fat box sets seem weird to me though. First 3 albums, first 4 albums, first 7 albums. Seems arbitrary. Though for Lagwagon it worked for me because those were the albums I actually listen to regularly.
  11. are these getting remastered? I thought the remastering on Top Contenders was terrrible. Hope it isn't given the same treatment.
  12. have they shipped yet? might be worth shooting him an email to see if he can add onto a previous order. might be able to save on the shipping. though I imagine he's inundated with messages right now.
  13. I thought it was a nice output from some experimentation. though short, the songs are moody, and overall I thought sounded really good. what don't you like about finch?
  14. OK, major changes since then. they have some solid packaging now.
  15. really digging the new album. need to give it some more spins, but so far for me it's: Who Will Survive > Bocca > Finch > Bitter Drink > Like the Exorcist > Red of Tooth = Magpie
  16. still a few goodies. was able to snag the Calexico tour LPs I still didn't have.
  17. How long ago was this? They had a ton of complaints about shipping packaging before, especially vinyl, and they seem to be addressing as best as they can. I've ordered a few records from Amazon over the last year, and they came in great LP mailers.
  18. as far as I know there are at least 4 variants. photos have been posted of: translucent orange/gold with red yellow & blue rings translucent orange /gold with white/grey rings blue with white/grey rings clear with red yellow & blue rings
  19. everyone NEEDS a copy of Geneva. any word on Enter? still dying to get that record at a reasonable price/
