Additionally, this board is a fucking cesspool for about the last year or more. I don't blame the mods necessarily because I know they do their best for the most part, but there need to be more than 2 fucking mods for the 30000+ registered users on this forum.

I gotta' tip my hat to whoever is cranking out those AFI boots and reducing them to 1 LP, now.  They've effectively cut down their vinyl costs and materials by half, while still appealing to the overwhelming majority of bootleg buyers who are fixated on simply having the record on their shelf, and maybe snapping a pic for social media.  Between that, the egregious MSRP that's rationalized because "it's better than OG prices bro", and the illusion of limited quantities or timed drops – everyone feels good about getting in on those, right? – they're actually pretty big-brain and I can't even criticize them for it.

I wasn't much of a Foo Fighters fan, but Taylor was an absolute monster behind the kit, and he seemed like a really sweet person. I have had close friends and family with addiction problems, and I've seen them do terrible things to themselves and those they love (I've also been on the receiving end). To mock their death with "heroin, amirite?" posts is complete garbage. GET FUCKED.

I mean, someone from the music scene actually died and a music-driven forum is taking a moment to share their thoughts and say a few words about it.  It would take a real piece of shit to stumble in and make that moment about their own personal beef.

Although it's a collection of singles, I believe it's about time this anthology should be released as a LP.

EDIT: Just asked them on IG, they said they'll ask the rest of the guys to reconsider it. I hope they do, I'm not a fan of putting single 7" records on at all. At a run length of 1 hour and 10 minutes I think that would justify a 2x LP set at the very least.

I may be in the minority here but I think Handwritten is a great album and think whatever they do next will more than likely be more similar to that than to Sink or Swim. 

Eh. It feels different coming from someone you "know" and in the context of today. I get where you're coming from, I just didn't really expect it and it was surprising. I kind of just expected a better insult to be honest. "Bi-polar retard" feels lazy. You've got better shit than that.

The DE and the KG will "break up" in the heavy moments, particularly the DE, which was cut from the same remastered hi-res files that were compressed over the original. So it's gonna give you more of a wall of sound.

The US promo doesn't get congested in these moments. It's obviously loud, but you can pick out all the individual instruments still. It's really an amazing mastering job, particularly for '94.
 
But like I say, individual opinions differ. I also prefer the original CD mastering over the new Definitive Edition FLACs, for the same reason. YMMV.
 
Considering I have the same reaction to the Definitives of Broken and Fragile, I'm really jonesing to find an original of the former. The Definitive Fragile is probably as good as it gets, the original of that wasn't mastered any better apparently (and noisy to boot).
