  1. But it's so cool to be a dick on the internet to a stranger looking for some help!
  2. I literally did this when I was getting my BS in Music Business. I had to "start a company" by writing out a full business proposal with fully fleshed out 1 month, 3 month, 6 month, 1 year and 3-5 year plans. I came to VC and asked people to take a survey as well. My paper was just over 80 pages, which was the longest thing I'd ever written, and it wasn't even for a real business. Also, who cares if Discogs "already has this." Just because there was one website to store your documents in the cloud, does that not mean that someone couldn't develop something to do it better? Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud, Box, etc... they're all the same, but different. We all know that you don't just stop creating things because something already exists.
  3. I hate this lull before free agency and the draft. It's literally the only time of the year where there's nothing to talk about. At least there's speculation after the draft and excitement heading into training camp and OTAs. At this point, we just wait.
  4. I would love to do a BHBE run of 100 records, but I'd have to do a stripped down version... Probably one of the Gotta Groove DIY packages. Originally, Chris, Daniel and I were going to put this out but it sorta died when Barsuk picked up American Soft and they asked us not to release it right away to give American Soft another bump. If we did a Kickstarter and it was fully funded to cover the cost of the production, I would do it in a heartbeat. Not interested in making any money on the project, just want to find 100 hardcore fans who also want it and will split the per unit cost evenly between everyone. 100 records at $1350 (not including stamping the center labels, shipping from the factory, shipping from me to you). Media mail alone would be $400. Shipping from the plant would (total guess) $150. Plus getting a handmade stamp for the A/B sides of the labels. I think it'd be right around $2,000 total. So $20 per unit? Does all of that math seem right to everyone?
  5. Totally on board with this and it's something I want to dive into as this grows. I've been pushing to do music stuff for awhile now because of the way music and sports intersect with each other. Glad others see the value in too. Now I just need people to pay attention to it so it doesn't become one of those "great ideas" that gets swept under the rug because it wasn't received as well as everyone hoped.
  6. Joywave is coming through ESPN on Thursday. I'll be sitting down with them for a 20ish minutes for a podcast. Any burning questions you guys want answered, get them to me before Thursday!
  7. I handle all vinyl for pressings BadChristian. I started out as their podcast producer since that's what I do for a living, but it became too much with my actual job. Nick Bunda produces the podcast now and I work with Matt McDonald (The Classic Crime / Vocal Few) and all of the bands who release albums on the label to make sure their pressings don't suck. So, if you've hated any of the pressings we've done from a tangible product perspective I'd love to know why. Constructive criticism is always appreciated. Hopefully though, you've liked the variant and jacket choices we've made.
  8. We looked at doing a 2xLP or switching up the track list to make it fit. In the end we thought a single LP w/ a new track list was a better option. I stressed that a 2xLP would be ideal and we compromised and said if the test presses didn't do the album justice than we'd switch it over. In the end we were really pleased with how it sounded so we stuck with it. I promise you guys won't be disappointed. Plus, it's awesome to start out Side B with Thrash.
  9. Side A Rock, Pebble, Stone The Beginning The Less You Say To The Deep Taken For A Bath Pink Slip Side B Thrash Hard Times What's Stopping You Go Wrong Young Man Salvatore Wryhta Alone
  10. Has anybody else not gotten a response yet on moving / order issues? Shoot me a PM if you've moved and HAVEN'T heard back from us.
  11. These records are arriving Mid-July, so they'll be shipping out shortly after that. None of the orders that have shipped include the vinyl. It's still in production. There were some issues with getting the artwork squared away because the "standard joe" is a single pocket jacket and the "deluxe" package is a gatefold. That pushed everything back while we figured the gatefold and the variants. I have the test presses and I promise you won't be disappointed. They sound amazing. We had to switch up the track order thought to make it all fit correctly without having an issues.
  12. **UPDATED w/ JOYWAVE** I had the privilege of bringing David Bazan through ESPN last week. Did a podcast with him and Yuuki Matthews (The Shings, Sufjan Stevens) about the Headphones tour, what it was like to record the Bazan Monthly albums and what's on the horizon for Bazan. Also shot an in-studio video of him playing acoustic versions of Nobody's Perfect, Little Landslides and Animals. This version of Little Landslides is absolutely gorgeous... instantly become a favorite of mine. Talked about their album, how rad it was to hear their music played during the NHL Western Conference Finals, why they've all become Cleveland Browns fans and a whole bunch more.
