  1. You're right about that. I was misremembering lyrics from a YFW song, "What difference does this difference in age make", which could refer to a great number of things. But even if you remove the "underage" part from my post, I still stand by what I said. He's written about being a creep and predator.
  2. I never said I thought we should've seen the Lacey stuff coming. Nowhere in my posts did I suggest that. I've been a Brand New fan since Deja and always assumed (hoped?) he was writing characters as a means to criticize problematic behavior. I can't see the lyrics the same way anymore, because I'm a rational person who is considering that maybe someone I admired and gave the benefit of the doubt to for years didn't deserve it.
  3. You have got to be kidding me, dude. Those are ridiculous and fantastical examples. Jesse Lacey literally wrote lyrics about taking advantage of underage girls. After the accusations, you see those lyrics the same way? It's not the same at all.
  4. It's quite sensible not to rush to judgment when someone is accused of something without proof. Spreading information about the girl struggling with mental health in an effort to play devil's advocate cast doubt on her story is not. It just perpetuates the rape denial climate that we know is very real. Also his snark and condescension (ie "you don’t need me to copy and paste a WebMD definition for that, do you?", "Delayed thanks to extended production time, to fortify the sleeve so you can’t break it over your head for Likes.") aren't helping his case.
  5. When your first response to accusations that a person who has written and sang about predatory behavior is to scour the accuser's social media for evidence of flaws, then suggest that she's not reliable because she has struggled with mental health, you're the part of the problem. "But if her reputation is truly on the line"... it's not. His is. You just WANT her to be lying.
  6. Well, nice thread. Got three or four new VC posters I know are awful people. Easily the grossest thing I've read on here.
  7. Murk & Marrow is immediately in my top 5 Converge songs ever. Just the kind of Converge track I love.
  8. Still lots of great records available!
  9. The way you felt for 2 hours is how many of the queer people at that show felt the other 22 hours of the day. Queer spaces and events are important for this exact reason. Also, band sucks, members are scum, etc.
  10. I have a Yellow in really great shape that I could let go. Don't ever listen to Beggars tbh.
  11. $4 shipping unless your order requires multiple mailers, the we can make a deal. Prefer to sell in lots. Will accept offers on multiple records. Only have 12" mailers so I'm trying to avoid shipping just 7"s. Anything not sold in the next week or so is going to a local store before I move. PM me any questions about color/pressing and I'll do my best. 12. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0097CY4NQ/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=1URUQA7ROFN6B&coliid=I3IKAHSE5NWLQV If I buy this for my debut carbon will it slide right into place or will I need to readjust the tonearm/cartridge/needle? I can't find an answer anywhere.
  13. I've had my 3xLP box set for a while now... It's easily one of my favorite vinyl releases ever. Everything is beautiful and the record is pretty much perfect.
  14. I ordered the 3xLP box the day they went up for preorder and I still haven't received a shipping confirmation. I think they received the boxes a little late so we probably just have to be patient. Also, album is flawless.
  15. Wow... seeing this thread was a trip. I still vividly remember this day. I got up and walked out of class in my first semester of college to go order my copy at the library. Now I'm in the final semester of my master's program and I still listen to this record regularly. Good memories.
  16. I love these figures but I can't afford another "thing" to spend money on. I do have the two Shaun of the Dead pops by my TV though. Those were too incredible to pass up.
  17. Agreed. His stamina is ridiculous. His fills did get a little repetitive by the end of Sunbather but there's already a lot more variety in this song.
  18. I saw AC on their Mare Vitalis tour earlier this Summer and I realized I had forgotten about all of this. The show was good, but I was totally thinking that that dude still owes me $15.
  19. I'll be in Chicago for like a week and looking for shops to hit up. Also, any recommendations for vegan food would be awesome!
  20. Hi everyone, I'm selling all five of these 7"s plus the 3-pack of adaptors. $200 shipped for the lot. Let me know!
  21. So all the new Star Wars comics have me at my local comic store every Wednesday and I've basically been reeled in. I've never really read comics before, but a few series caught my eye and I'm really enjoying the revelation that not all comics are superhero related. There are so many series and so many publishers that it's kind of intimidating, so I need some recs. Here's what I've enjoyed immensely in the past couple of weeks: Wytches Descender Intersect Magneto (big X-Men fan) Saga (maybe, a little irked by some of the dialogue, six issues in and I'm still unsure) If you have any recommendations based on this list, please let me know. I would prefer modern or even ongoing series, but if you have something older in mind that's cool. I'm really into horror, sci-fi, weird shit, absurdism/existentialism, and melancholy atmospheres. I'm really not into any superheroes other than X-Men, sexism, action hero stuff, or war realism. Thanks in advance!
