I just want a simple, standard gram (because its wasteful and serves no additional purpose), cleanly and carefully pressed black vinyl, impeccably mastered (as close to AAA as possible), normal weight basic gatefold, quality printed jacket 2xLP of everything. No Pic disc. No incorporated television. No lenticular cover (though I would forgive it if they worked it into an Aenima reissue). No wifi router. No nothing crazy. Just solid, true to format vinyl pressing that excels at reproducing the stereo master as beautifully as possible when the fuckin' needle touches down and drags through the basic ass grooves of the godforsaken LP. Can I get an Amen or just a plain old delivery on this?

Fuck the major labels and their ridiculous pricing. Not buying this unless I get it on clearance somewhere.

as an unbiased lurker who just comes here to learn about vinyl releases and avoids the drama, you all a bunch of clowns ^ 

I’m indifferent to the definitive editions. They are louder for sure. TBH, that works for NIN’s sound IMO. That being said, I’d prefer cranking them with my volume knob, but they are fine. I’m not outraged like a lot of people were when they dropped. 
 
That at being said, the back to black TDS is a better master and pressing than the definitive edition. It’s even better than the OP.

I have originals of these albums as well and I picked up the reissues. No contest they sound tremendously better. I am selling my originals as we speak. Altered Beast especially works so much better on 2 records.

I won't go that far but am very happy it's included. That was my first guess for the 3rd b-side but still didn't think that would be it because it's a YPAA b-side. "Aphids", on the other hand, I am SEVERELY stoked on having in 100% analog.

good lord these two songs are horrible. lyrically and musically some of the most cringeworthy stuff i have ever heard. each time i think they are making the worst stuff they have ever made, they go and make something even worse. fuck man. matt sharp is rolling over in his grave.

It’s amazing what a difference there is between records pressed in the era of vinyl-as-an-afterthought when no one cared about mastering and the vinyl was made from recycled plastic cups & the era of vinyl-as-a-main concern when all attention is paid to sound quality.
 
So many records from the 90s - ironically, many of which are so coveted because of scarcity - probably had no right to be pressed on vinyl in the first place with what little care was given.

This is such a good idea and a potential way to discover new music. Unfortunately, Discogs seems to be only ever focused on improving their marketplace. That's a shame since they have so much data that can be used to get people to discover and purchase new music. With better, creative management, Discogs could be so much better. I know they have the recommendations list on each page but those are always like the same 10 albums. Random Access Memories for example is a popular one I see on majority of the pages I check out.
