I just watched a For Today interview, they believe that Jesus can raise people from the dead, enough said.

The only positive thing about record store day (besides the sales that stores will do) is that the major labels dump money into pressing plants. At least they can count on the steady income and it will keep them open to press shit I care about.

I refuse to support any type of religious label. Search for the old Tooth and Nail thread on here, I drew some real heat in that one.

They have sold records since very early on. The first store started to sell vinyl shortly after opening because they would carry stuff that the chain stores wouldn't, they became the one stop shop for punk stuff. They existed way before CD's were the norm.

So a store that has been selling music for about 35 years has been cash grabbing this whole time? Is that a "cash grab" or running a successful business? I don't know if you live in the area but they have actually almost supported a music community that whole time by giving smaller bands and labels a place to sell there releases. For every $40 repress they probably stock 500 reasonably priced records from bands that would'not have anywhere else to sell them.

I am getting a little defensive because that store has done a lot for the music community, if it didn't exist a lot of bands or venues would have gone down hill around here. If the store didn't exist I probably wouldn't be I to the music I am into, have the friends I have, seen the bands I have seen.
Also, your original statement is incorrect and it aggrovated me.

I heard the color vinyl has a different mix than the black on Fat releases.

Fuck yeah I still go to physical stores. I'm moved all over so it's good to get variety, but some stores are better than others. The best local store for me was Graywhale in SLC. They had so much good music ranging from stoner to doom to post punk to punk to black metal to the classic to blues that my Internet orders went down, even though I still ordered about 50 records that year online. I would go there with my roommate multiple times a week. We went there so often everyone knew us by name, would put stuff on hold for us they knew we would want, ordered stuff for us. That place was the best.
Now I'm in Richmond and go to these two stores that are really good. They aren't as good as Graywhale but that's hard to do. I have also stopped using discogs and eBay. I pretty much just do preorder and physical.
Nothing beats going into a store and digging through stuff while you yell at your buddy who works there for the latest record he bought.

They recorded Pinkerton in Boston, at this time The Blue album was huge. Rivers went to Harvard, grew a beard and worked at a thrift shop called " The Garment District". He really didn't want to be famous and none of us recognized him because of his beard. My friends and I used to see him all the time at the store, walking around and hanging out in record stores. This was before the internet covered everything. It wasn't until Pinkerton came out that we all realized that the bearded weird dude who was always walking around was him. That's my story for the day.

That's right! Don't use a form of music that exists for people that stand against your bullshit belief system as a way to package it to words young kids. I put this garbage up in the same catagory as Pat Boone, a total joke.

That show is the definition of " I went to this because I pretend to like these bands." If you really gave a shit you would watch them and shut up.
