I was going through some records the other day and noticed I have 2 copies. It's NM/NM; unplayed. Anyways, just looking to trade for something. Don't really care what as long as it's not a thrift store throwaway. Punk, indie, alternative, hardcore, etc. They all do it for me. Maybe attach a short list of what you'd be willing to trade? On the first listen, I hated it. On the last few listens, I think it's pretty solid. There's nothing *great* on it. I found myself liking most of the slower songs the most. The cheesy intro riffs on songs like Rollin' And Tumblin' and Ain't That A Shame are my least favorite parts of the album.

Ya, I think before you were able to just plug it into any computer and restore/reinstall. I did a bit of research and apparently some people developed a tool that allows you to bypass the iCloud/activation screen, but I don't know if Apple has since patched that or not. The most recent article I found is from April of this year. If you can get it for $30, I'd say it's worth tinkering. At worst, you can throw it back on eBay and probably make your money back pretty easily.

As far as I know, there is absolutely no workaround to bypassing that activation screen. You need the original Apple ID and password used to setup the phone. It's an anti-theft feature. If the eBay seller is the owner [which I am assuming they are not], they could just reset the iPod and sell it. You may have to shell out some coin unless you want a very pretty paperweight.

I'm actually going to the Social for the first time tomorrow to see Ceremony, so it's relieving to me that you said that is the one good venue. And Joyce Manor are just really good live. They're playing in Tampa at a very, very, very small DIY "art space" on this tour, and if you happen to be in FL, I would really recommend seeing them there.

What are they? I just don't get it. My friends girlfriend was shitting on my music taste the other day, and then she turned on Xiu Xiu and it was seriously just so bad. I get the wall of noise/dissonance/synth/blah, but I am just not on board with the way that guy sings.

To put it simply: Wood, PVC, a metal rod, and some sand. There are a ton of guides that basically explain what I did, but in case anyone is interested in exactly how I did, I guess it never hurts to have too many how-to's: Measured the LxW dimensions of my speakers (9"x9"). Then I went to Lowe's and bought like 6'x12"x1" (6 foot plank. 1" thick, 12" wide. Some people who made other how-to guides had 2" thickness). When I got home I cut two pieces of wood that were just slightly (1/4" maybe?) bigger for the tops. Then I cut two 11"x11" pieces for the bases. I sanded the wood and then stained it with ebony wood stain. I did two coats and then sealed it with two coats of polyurethane to protect the wood and give it a nicer finish. (Sand in between your polyurethane coats!) I bought a 5' tube of 3" PVC and cut it in half. I primed the PVC tube and then spray painted it with truck bed liner paint. It wasn't my first choice of paint, but I am actually stunned at how well it turned out. It has a very nice texture. I decided to use a 3/8" all-thread rod to connect the top and bottom pieces of wood. I drilled a 3/8" hole in the center of the top piece and the center of the bottom piece. You would also need to drill a hole about halfway through the wood with a paddle bit so that you can fit your washers/nuts properly. A quick Google search shows an example of what I'm talking about here: After my PVC and wood was dry and ready to be assembled, I grabbed some heavy duty construction caulk (the kind that bonds any material to any material; in this case, wood to PVC) and put it on the bottoms of my PVC pipes that were going to go against the wood base. This was hands down the hardest part. Trying to get the PVC on your base dead-center without getting caulk all over the place was a pain in the ass. Just be patient, and at least if you used ebony, it's easy to cover your mistakes It was important for me to have a good seal between the PVC and the wood, because I chose to pour a bunch of playground sand ($3 for 50 pounds at a hardware store) down the PVC tube for added weight/stability. When I had my PVC base centered and it was finally sealed to the wood, I ran the rod from the bottom of the base (the one thats on the floor!) up through the PVC. I noticed that I needed to cut the rod so that it would lay flush against the very top of my top piece of wood. I wouldn't want to have 1/2" of a steel rod poking out the top of my speaker stand. I used a band saw to cut it. (My old man owns an equipment rental store, so I had pretty easy access to some of these otherwise hard-to-acquire things like saws and what not). When the rod was cut to where I needed it to be, I added the sand. It's very important that the rod was in place where it needed to be because once you start pouring sand, it would just be a fucking *mess* to try to run it through. I used a cup to pour the sand in about 90% of the way to the top. I held the rod center as I did that. Last stop was putting the top piece of wood on, centering it with the bottom, and then putting the top washer/nut on and tightening. After everything was secure, I just used some of that kitchen drawer rubber-lining and cut it to size to put under my speaker for added grip. And I realize that maybe this wasn't the right place for this post, and I really did not mean for it to be so long. Aye, aye, aye. Hopefully it helps someone if they need it.

I get a major blink-182 vibe from Heart Tattoo. I think my favorite tracks are currently End of the Summer and The Jerk.

This album is so good that I actually threw up while listening to it.

Wow. I just ordered mine and I was pretty shocked to see that the clear was still there. Got one of those even though my heart said yellow. If Catalina Fight Song is the one of the worst ones on the album, I'm going to need new pants.

So strange. My buddy's band played with them last night at a little local show here in Tampa. I'm out of the loop, I guess. Had no idea they were signed or had a following. it was my first time hearing them, but all of the new songs they played were greeeaaaaat. If I had to compare it to another band, it would be Touche Amore. Very good stuff!

Is your budget pretty firm? If you're willing to spend $35 more, you can get the Beyerdynamic DT-990 Pro model. SUPER comfortable and they sound pretty great. I was considering the Sennheiser HD598s before I saw these and I couldn't be happier. The soundstage on these is unreal. Things to consider: They are 250 ohm, so depending on what you're source is, you may need an amp to really achieve the full potential. There is a bit of emphasis on treble/bass. Not like overwhelming/muddy Beats by Dre bass, but it is very prominent. Just my 2 cents: Awesome sounding headphones. I used to own a pair, but they aren't that comfortable. Things get pretty hot after about 45-60 minutes.

It's a mastering defect. There are (digital) copies of the album floating around where users tried to clean up some of the noise and harshness. The results are noticeably better, but it still sounds like shit.

Man, that's a good price on that Replacements album. You don't really see those go for less than $40, regardless of condition

At first, I thought the album sounded kinda weird. Tinny in some spots, muddy mid-bass in others, etc. I was listening to the streams that were floating around on the web. I ripped one of the streams (NME?) and put it on my iPod to listen to in my car as it was the best quality stream I had heard. I have a pretty decent system in my car, but it still didn't sound too hot. I downloaded a web rip (320kbps) from what.cd and put that on my iPod instead and it sounds WAY better. Not tinny, not muddy, the bass is actually audible, etc. It's actually a really great sounding record. I read that Laura said she wanted it to sound like "the New York Dolls and the Sex Pistols" and that's a pretty dead on comparison. It's just a very lean, guitar driven rock album. TL;DR: Stop listening to low bitrate streams on your laptop.
