On initial listen...I'm feeling conflicted. There are a few moments & parts of songs where I was excited...but overall, as a total sum of its parts, the album feels middle of the road and more of the same.

Nothing groundbreaking that would make me feel...

I only heard the few tracks my daughter insisted on me playing for her while I was getting her out of bed this morning, but I’m most fascinated by the other musical artists she references by name in the songs and whether it results in increased interest in those artists because so far I clocked The Starting Line (in “The Black Dog”) and Patti Smith (in “The Tortured Poets Dept.”).

Edit - Forgot I heard Charlie Puth and I think The Blue Nile too.

  2. Incredible first quarter of 2024 for emo, IMO.  In addition to the ones above, you have Glass Beach, Stay Inside, Gulfer, the new Friko album Where we've been, Where we go from here | Friko (bandcamp.com), new Carpool and Barely Civil on 3/22, and I've been really digging this Get Well, Kid album (It All Goes Away | Get Well, Kid (bandcamp.com)).

  4. I was all set to make a joke about how they finally pressed “Little Joe Sure Can Sing”, the pop vocal album by Joe Pesci, and then I looked up the price for the original pressings and maybe there’s a market after all.

Nothing here for me unless I can get my hands on one of the Hips and Makers represses (I have OP, but the bonus materials sound cool).
