  1. Saw the show in St. Louis over the weekend. Lydai was great (although I would have appreciated more vocals). Why didn't anyone tell me how great HRVRD is? Had always been one of those bands I had heard of but never heard, but the mix of indie and space/prog-rock is squarely in my wheelhouse. Wonder how many younger fans realize how much the lead singer is aping Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull. It's uncanny (and not meant as a dig at all).
  2. Sending my first 2LP soon. If you put the LPs outside the jacket, how do you separate them inside the packaging?
  3. SRC sent an e-mail about it and it didn't sound like they had too many, so that doesn't surprise me.
  4. Get it while you can: http://www.shopradiocast.com/products/Motion-City-Soundtrack-%252d-Commit-This-to-Memory-LP.html
  5. Ordered the Cassino vinyl and some other stuff and got a signed Cassino jacket along with it. In summary, Thunderbeard is the dog's bollocks.
  6. If you don't have this album, get it. It's killer.
  7. Best OBO ever? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-News-Deja-Entendu-Vinyl-/331157887642?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item4d1a8c5a9a#ht_63wt_1238
  8. The "Bodycount at Tyrone's" R.E.M. bootleg LP (or some similar R.E.M. bootleg). Was (and still am) a huge R.E.M. fan and wasn't really into vinyl growing up, but I saw this at the old BJ Records in Iowa City (RIP) and bought it and several other R.E.M. boots before graduating to more legit vinyl releases.
  9. This. I'm ready to take a year off from the rigamarole.
  10. Released as part of their new interactive installation, limited to 500 hand numbers and signed by the band. This sounds pretty cool and I LOVE Hidden, but am just so-so on Field of Reeds, and with the price on this (not to mention shipping) I'll probably have to let it go, but I'm tempted. http://www.vfeditions.com/product/view/160
  11. I can't figure out if this makes your mom cool or lame.
  12. I don't like Marley either, but to be fair i have a hard time listening to more than ten minutes of reggae music in one sitting anyway.
  13. I like Power of Failing a lot more than Endserenading, even though I feel like the latter is the more popular one.
  14. Check my order in the "impulse buy" category. Liked what I heard of Acceptance and Cassino, so picked thoseup along with YMEAWK.
  15. Had it in my cart, went to check out and now its sold out. Hate when that happens.
  16. 311 is like listening to an already shitty band and an even shittier rapper get run through the gears of large machinery and keep playing anyway. People in my group of friends in high school loved them and I could not stand to listen to them. Also, I find Sublime similarly awful, but for different reasons.
  17. Good to hear. Was worried the packaging would suffer in the repress.
  18. The Wrens - The Meadowlands After searching discogs and ebay for months and never seeing it come up, I assumed it was out of print, only to find that I could just order it from their webstore. Felt like an idiot, but glad to finally have it.
  19. Not a noob story, since it just happened, but made me feel like a noob. Been after The Wrens albums "The Meadowlands" for a while, but never see it on ebay or discogs, and the prices I've seen along with the scarcity of seeing it available suggested to me that it was way out of print and hard to find. Got desperate one night and decided to search the web for copies and it urns out the Wrens' merch store has it in stock and I just got the shipping notice, so I guess it's legit (http://wrens.kungfustore.com/products/2796-the-meadowlands-vinyl-lp-wrn03). Felt pretty silly, but happy ending!
