  1. Fuck, that was crazy! Got one but was almost thrown off last minute because of that standard edition thing.
  2. Grey is up on Rough Trade: http://www.roughtrade.com/albums/101439
  3. I think he really upped his pop songwriting game here. While there's a lot more going on than the moody 80's-influenced stuff on Nocturne, it still sounds like Wild Nothing. Looking forward to digging in a lot more.
  4. It's also up on silver available through Paper Bag Records in Canada: http://shop.paperbagrecords.com/products/love-streams
  5. This is streaming now on NPR (and it's leaked). It sound very good and the Loser Edition is still up on Sub Pop's site.
  6. I think the song is pretty catchy - I like it. Haven't been able to PO yet though.
  7. I felt the same way. On one quick listen it sounds like the album I was hoping DC would be. DC is still pretty uneventful for me. "The Traveller" alone blows away anything from DC.
  8. Kurt and crew (including Don from a previous Lilys incarnation/Ink & Dagger/among others) play Brooklyn tonight and Philly tomorrow. Supposedly only old stuff from In The Presence of Nothing, Eccsame, etc. Have tickets for Philly but might not be able to go, will be super bummed if that's the case.
  9. This one reminds me of Devotion. Songs are less immediate (at least compared to Teen Dream and Bloom) but reveal themselves the more you listen. I find them sticking in my head even though they seem like the just kind of float by without leaving much an impression (overall). Their biggest jump was Devotion to Teen Dream, and it seems like they've pulled back a bit to avoid having to keep going bigger and brighter with DP. I am down with that.
  10. Does anyone know what's going on with the band? Apparently they've had to cancel some shows due to a some sort of medical emergency.
  11. Although I haven't seen info on a vinyl pressing (it'd have to be massive), Kamasi Washington's record on Brainfeeder is incredible. Can't stop listening to it.
  12. Bull Moose is the best. Great customer service. I F'd up my original order by putting it through with an expired card and they did some workarounds with placeholder product pages to help me keep it active and not lose it (despite the fine print reminding you to double-check that info). Just got a shipping notice.
  13. Went to first show in Philly last night. It was pretty incredible. Played all of C&L (in different order) and some older songs afterwards. Show started at 8:00 and the 7" was gone by the time I got there at 8:15.
  14. Man I hate these super small releases followed by a "larger" roll-out via RSD. Cannot stand RSD! I would have picked this up in a second had I not been 3 hours late.
  15. Clear is still up on his bandcamp page: http://music.sufjan.com/album/carrie-lowell
  16. Available for purchase here: http://www.myplaydirect.com/black-messiah/?utm_medium=referral&utm_source=blackmessiah.co&utm_campaign=messiah%20site&cid=lg:1d0o
  17. I love most of Mark's music but I think he trolled us all with Benji. I find it almost embarrassing to listen to (except for Prayer for Newtown). Ghosts, April, and Admiral are spectacular, but he just seems totally uninspired anymore. This ridiculous WOD thing really makes him look like a huge out-of-touch asshole.
  18. I had a TP in my cart, made it through checkout to payment, but when I hit submit I got a bad gateway error. When I tried a 2nd time it gave me duplicate transaction error. No email confirmation, so probably out of luck.
  19. This is an incredible late-period Coltrane live recording: http://www.resonancerecords.org/release.php?cat=B0019632-01 It's pricey but the package is very high quality. Some of the tracks are pretty far out, so it's probably not the best Coltrane intro for those new to him.
  20. This record is really great. I don't think I've liked one of his as much since The Letting Go. I know there have been some good ones in there but they haven't quite connected.
  21. I like it so far! This could be my favorite of Thom's since In Rainbows. The Atoms For Peace record just never really grabbed me, despite me spending a lot of time with. This seems more playful and experimental, a bit looser maybe... words I would not use to describe the AFP record.
