Anybody get their preorder copy yet? Just got mine today, but it's just standard black. Ordered this back on 11/14 as part of deluxe bundle.

Got mine today, 322/1000 printed on label. Wasn't doing a whole lot for me on first listen but I had it on in the background.

New Juan Waters is good

This record is packed full of hooks. It's super good. Kind of like a punkier Slowdive. Problem with most shoegaze revival bands is lack of quality songs. They get the sound down and may tweak it in an interesting way but the songcraft just doesn't hold up. That's one reason why it was so great to have my bloody valentine back this year.

I guess it's fun enough for 80s pastiche but it sounds more like she tried to remake Viva Hate without anything close to that level of lyricism

Everything Important puts out is great. Their pressings and packaging are pretty much perfect too.

Anybody else ever order from subpop and have their cart system act all glitchy? It always adds items, seemingly at random.

Pretty sure Sub Pop fills all preorders as Loser Editions until they run out of their anticipated supply, in which case they'll cross out the text on the preorder page. So, as long as you see it up on the site, you're good.

I've always found their work to be anywhere from interesting to totally awesome, and my first chance with the record last night exceeded my already high expectations. The artwork is incredible, as well.

This is some of their best stuff. So great to hear it in a new context again.

So that first 7" wasn't limited to 1000 at all? We all jumped on it to find out the pressing was a total POS and they were planning a second batch all along? This is ridiculous.

I preordered this and got an email saying they weren't going to press any of these on blue due to some manufacturing issue. Has anyone seen a blue copy?

This band is so good. Children of Desire is still unfolding for me. Can't wait to hear this record.

anybody support the kickstarter fund to press his killing the vibe 12"? it was supposed to have the album version and the panda bear vocal version, maybe something else. i pledged 50 bucks for the record and some random stuff but got completely stiffed. dude never sent anything and was completely unresponsive through any sort of messaging. kickstarter was totally unable or unwilling to attempt to hold him accountable. according to the pledge page, this happened to a number of people.

The sticker on my shrinkwrapped gold copy was of a gold color, so maybe someone with a black copy can confirm what color their cover sticker was, to give you a better idea.

I've been trying to get into this album. Some of these lyrics are just so bad they're distracting.

I also preordered the ltd Ed and got a regular copy today. So, like 30 pounds with shipping for a regular copy I can get up the street.

Is this one of those pretty paper sleeves that you have to cut through (and ruin) to even play the record? Pay almost double for that feature (and heavier weight vinyl)?

I did - split is actually with Other Lives (the remixed track is "Tamer Animals"). I don't think it has shipped yet, though.
