  1. Seems like Fantasy licenses a couple of colored variants of the same (digital-sourced) version every year. Meanwhile, the one AAA pressing that sounds amazing keeps getting more and more expensive: https://www.discogs.com/Vince-Guaraldi-Trio-A-Charlie-Brown-Christmas/release/6355463
  2. Best deals/best sales: --Original presses of Pearl Jam's Ten and Garbage's debut for $12 each, which I don't plan to sell. --The 2008 press of Sara Barielles' Little Voice for $10 at a record show, before she did a repress... Put it up for $200 on Discogs a day later and it sold within hours. Probably could've priced it higher. --The first Whiskeytown 7" (Angels EP) and their split 7" with Neko Case... Paid $2 apiece back in the 90s, sold them some years back (before Ryan got cancelled) for $200 each. --And very old-school, but I grabbed the definitive AAA press of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road for just $25 from a nice guy on the Hoffman forum. It goes for a little more now: https://www.discogs.com/Elton-John-Goodbye-Yellow-Brick-Road/release/3785738 Best sale is still probably be the Beatles Mono set.... Bought for $250, sold for $1750. I'm sitting on another one still sealed in the box, not sure when I'm gonna let it go.
  3. This might sound churlish, but could Dave take a break from the endless releases of live box sets to FINALLY put out an AAA reissue of Crowded Streets? The one that was promised years ago?? (That said, the Hampton show IS fantastic, with one of those old school setlists that reminds me of the shows I actually attended back in the 90s. My very first DMB show opened with that same epic Seek Up, actually.)
  4. Based on my search of four different Target stores hunting Pearl Jam last weekend, I'm gonna say they pressed 200K copies of T. Swift, as opposed to 5 of PJ.
  5. You're getting a double LP, cut all-analog, of an album that routinely went for $200+ for decades. (And that original press was cut from 44.1 kHz files.) You're also getting an extra LP of unreleased songs, also cut all-analog. And you're paying slightly more than the cut-from-digital 2LP release that's now standard for every single major artist. (Even the ones who could EASILY afford to go AAA.) But yeah, you do you.
  6. I was a 10C member all the way back in the early 90s (and I have the Christmas singles to prove it). Eventually I left, probably around the time they took 2 years to ship a Christmas single. But I rejoined in the 2010s and got a handful of good deals (nice discount on the Vs box, grabbing the now expensive fist Vault release). I never got lucky with any of the super-limited drops though. I DID score on that RSD Mystery Vinyl sale, though, so I can't complain. But in the end, I live in a part of America that's not Chicago/Boston/Philly/NYC/Hawaii/the West Coast. Meaning Pearl Jam basically play a show near me every decade or so. It doesn't make sense to sub to 10C every year when I'm only buying tickets that infrequently, especially once they stopped doing Christmas singles. I ended my membership with the final single. No regrets so far.
  7. My local store got these in last Friday (when I was picking up the Prince set). Unless you absolutely need to buy the Mellon Collie box from the official site, copies are gonna be everywhere and plentiful for a while, at lower prices.
  8. If this is anything but wishful thinking on SRC's part I'll actually pony up $45 for a CD in 2019.
  9. Yeah, in hindsight my double-LP gold promo version of Gold Experience is gonna wind up the most valuable record I own. Amazing the 3 corporations that own all music ever recorded can't get their shit together in 2019, but there you go. Doubly frustrating about Black Album since it was on that now-laughable "coming soon" vinyl reissue list from years ago. Weren't some sites taking preorders?
  10. Shortly after the (original) reissue campaign was announced, I was lucky to find OP versions of GB and Batman for $20 apiece. Very glad I snagged them as the original preorders got cancelled thereafter and it doesn't look like either of those are coming anytime soon. Still a bit confused why the Batman 12" singles got reissued by WB in 2017... but not the album itself. Seems a big missed opportunity there. And speaking of opportunities missed..... Sony decides to release a promo cassette on vinyl, along with Prince's bloated 3-CD set that used to go for $5 used AND one of his weaker contract filler WB albums. Not released: Love Symbol, Black Album, Come, and Gold Experience.... which all go for $50-$300 apiece now.
  11. And yet 99% of all musicians don't, including practically EVERYONE who recorded music for major labels before the era of "give away music for free, make it back on monetizing brand." (Lookin' at you, Chance The Rapper.) I mean, Paul McCartney spent DECADES trying to get the rights to his masters. The Stones are worth several billion and they STILL don't own anything before 1971. Metallica was smart enough to get back their masters when they negotiated a new contract with their existing label.... It seems a no-brainer that Taylor would do the same. Methinks she got an INSANE deal from a rival label that more than offsets her ownership of her masters, but in a classic Swifty-T move, she's going on social media to act like the victim anyway and win the war of public support.
  12. TWO sure-fire, can't-miss, super-hyped, no-promotional-expense-spared singles released from the new TS album......... TWO singles that both missed #1 thanks to "Old Town Road." I knew Swifty-T would fall off the mountain eventually. Just didn't expect it would be at the hands of a 20-year-old kid, an old NIN sample, and the guy who did "Achy Breaky Heart."
  13. I love how Swifty-T already predicted the lackluster response to her first single and had a response track ready to go.....
  14. Love how we're talking about an episode of TV that first aired 8 years ago, on the BBC. (WAY before the Netflix deal....) ANYWAY. If you're actually caught up, watch the Miley episode in question. It wasn't my personal favorite but I love how the whole thing works as a NIN in-joke.
  15. Really??? It's way closer to my personal tastes than some of the lists on here. Maybe SSFDL is a little low (should probably be ahead of the new album). That's about it. The list someone posted that had High Violet dead last?? Why you even listen to National, bro??
  16. When your team spends $500K on the single rollout and you come in second to a kid on a laptop doing cowboy voices over old NIN samples....
  17. The Collective: How dare they price gouge like that-- Port o Sound: [counting money] Gone.
  18. These guys HAVE to do a better job with flippers. Just called... One guy bought all 6 of their Dylans a half hour ago....
  19. Yeah, I've had this one for a year, and it's the only disappointing thing about the new reissue of Body Talk. They rearranged the tracklist from the original pressing and now 7 of the 8 songs from Body Talk Pt. 1 are duplicated on the full-length reissue. For those of us who already bought BT Pt. 1 on vinyl, it would've been nice to have Time Machine, We Dance To The Beat, Get Myself Together, and In My Eyes from the original vinyl. And the single mix of Dancing On My Own, which I prefer actually. (The EP mix was duplicated on the new reissue.) Still not gonna complain too much.... For $30 vs. $300 I'm immensely happy! But yeah, Robyn needs to come out with the S/T on vinyl already. (And maybe the other two BT EPs just for completion's sake.)
  20. Warner "lost" an entire shipment of RSD stock when they decided to move warehouses 2 weeks before Record Store Day. This according to my friend who runs the local store. "You think they would've just shipped our orders out BEFORE they moved, but no...." His words. ANYWAY. The Crow was definitely one of the items affected. I wouldn't be surprised if a couple thousand don't arrive in stores until this week, so I'd be patient.
  21. Just an FYI, got back from Lunchbox and the owner told me he's "40 emails behind." So be patient! Store was busy and he was helping a lot of folks find leftover RSD items. While I was there, snagged the OOP 45RPM version of "My Favorite Things" used for 15% off, so not too bad.....
