  1. Normally I would be all over a How To Dress Well pre-order, but I'd be lying if I said the single had me as enticed as the lead singles in past album cycles. I'll probably just stick to the standard release this time around. But hell, I'll still buy it because this dude is magical.
  2. I did notice that in the breakdown of the bundle price, they charge $16.50 for the record and $7 separately for the digital download. If that's the case, it seems weird that they wouldn't just throw in a download code like most other places, honestly. Then again, I don't think any of the other albums' pressings came with download codes either, so...
  3. I went with Bundle 7. I thought about Bundle 11 as well, but I couldn't justify paying $20 more for a slightly more limited and less ugly variant (let's not kid ourselves here, it's about the music), a CD copy, and a beanie that I would never use. That white t-shirt is kickass, though. I ordered a poster tube too, so the total order came out to about $48 after shipping. A bit "yikes," but I typically don't order anything but the record, so I'm assuming that's pretty normal for MerchNow.
  4. It's happening! No single yet, but it was just announced half an hour ago, so... From the band's FB page: We are happy to announce details on our 7th studio LP. 5. I don't know if this qualifies as awesome to most of y'all, but a few weeks ago, I came across a sealed copy of my favorite Christmas album (An Evening in December by First Call, an old Christian a cappella group) at the Goodwill closest to my house. A lot of people probably wouldn't like it, especially now since it's 30 years old, but my family listened to it multiple times almost every holiday season when I was a kid. My dad lost his CD copy years ago, and I literally had no idea they'd pressed it onto vinyl, so needless to say I was ecstatic. It's one of those few albums that can make me feel hardcore nostalgia every single time I listen to it. Not even lying, I almost started tearing up when the needle hit the record and the first song started playing. So yeah, it was a very, very awesome find for me.
  6. Oh my god, if the rest of the album sounds anything like Say Yeah, then this will easily be my AotY. So many influences went into a single song, and I'm so fucking into it. Also I pre-ordered it the minute I saw it on KB's Facebook page. Got the split, because I'm not VIP material.
  7. Got my Newbury variant today; the package was a little too bent for my comfort zone, but fortunately the actual records weren't really warped at all. Looks good, plays good. Beautiful album. Completely satisfied with this whole process.
  8. Posting here to keep up with repress news. So pissed that I didn't know about this before.
  9. Got mine today. Thank god it got delivered later in the afternoon after the sun was on the other side of my apartment; whoever dropped it off just kind of leaned it up against my front door (which is exposed to direct sunlight until about 4pm), so it would have been warped as fuck had it been delivered any earlier than it was. Also, green confirmed for best variant. Just saying.
  10. Not trying to stir the pot, but if you're not really into spending money, then getting into records was probably not a great choice.
  11. I grabbed a green copy yesterday, so excited to finally have this for so much less than what I almost paid two or three times in the last year or two. The first minute and a half of Marianas Trench is gonna be so satisfying to hear on wax.
  12. I wasn't at all counting on today to be a vinyl-buying day, let alone more than one album, but so it goes... Preordered: Touché Amoré - Stage Four (clear/oxblood euro press, /500) Ordered: August Burns Red - Constellations (swamp green, /500) Bought on sale at UO: DIIV - Is The Is Are standard press
  13. A fair point, and exactly why I ordered the one that I did. I take everything back!
  14. I'm so glad I decided to check VC today of all days. All of the variants (except the deluxe, which I didn't have much interest in anyway) were within a dollar of each other after all was said and done, so I went with the euro variant. Mostly because the vinyl most closely matched the album cover. Which is a dumb reason, admittedly, but whatever. The album is gonna slay regardless.
  15. Damn, I'm really glad I put in an order for the Newbury variant when I did. Also, that tskskt asshole lowered the price to $105. So kind of them, really.
  16. Ordered the Newbury alt cover variant. I like the standard artwork, but I've always been really into rad 1970's album covers and the like, so it was a no-brainer for me.
  17. Why in the hell did my username revert back to the one I signed up with? I changed it for a reason, god dammit.

All is well with the world.

  18. I'm slightly embarrassed that I haven't been able to try Creature Comforts' Cosmik Debris yet, even though the cans have been out for a few weeks now AND they have it on draft at the brewery. Speaking of, if any of y'all find yourselves in Athens for god knows what reason, the CC brewery tour is definitely worth checking out. The building and surrounding space is really cool, they're typically generous on the half-pours, and every now and then there's live music. Not to mention, a lot of times they'll have limited releases and experimental shit on draft.
  19. I thought it was excellent. The visuals kicked so much ass and made the album itself so much more cohesive, even though it's still a great listen without the movie. Jay-Z must have been living in fear of his life for the past few months.
  20. After nearly two years of not going to any shows, I bought a ticket to see Neon Indian next month! I'm ridiculously excited since I've heard a lot of good things about his live shows and Vega Intl. Night School was one of my top five albums of last year.
  21. Bought my first cologne today. It only took me almost 24 years.
  22. I feel like I'm buying way fewer records nowadays than I was around this time last year, which makes me sad. Guess I'll just have to start buying more.
  23. Found my next turntable purchase. Looks pretty hi-fi, don't you think?
  24. Earlier this evening I almost got t-boned by someone who wasn't paying attention and flew through a red light. Almost immediately afterwards, I let a cute lil' possum safely trot across the street and it made me forget about the whole "almost got t-boned" thing until like an hour ago. Funny how things work like that.
  25. Literally nothing of interest this year. Score one for my bank account.
