  1. My order from Apothecary Compositions came in yesterday! I still can't believe I got all of this for under $40 shipped, seeing as how that price is still less than if I'd just gotten the Machinedrum and OPN albums at regular price. (Apologies for the shitty image)
  2. Went to my local shop for the first time in weeks today, found a sealed first press copy of FKA twigs - EP2 for under retail. Hella. Apparently, the way you know whether it's the first press or the repress is that she isn't wearing her "twigs" necklace on the cover of the repress. Fun fact of the day for all y'all FKA twigs fans.
  3. Apothecary Compositions (one of my fav indie electronic labels) is doing a 50% off all of their vinyl including the distro stuff until the 26th, so I took full advantage of it. I got: Machinedrum - Vapor City 2xLP Oneohtrix Point Never - Garden of Delete 2xLP Heathered Pearls - Body Complex Airbird & Napolian - Mr. Foolish ...for $38 shipped. I'm actually tempted to put in a second order.
  4. Apparently, Martin Shkreli offered Ye $15 million to buy the album outright and not release it publicly, and he sent the money to some dude via Bitcoin and can't figure out where it went, but it definitely didn't go to Ye or anyone affiliated with him. He's freaking out on his Twitter right now, but it's so hard to tell if he's being real or not. Regardless, anything fucking Shkreli over is cool with me, and I'm already halfway through TLOP on Tidal. So good.
  5. Currently streaming the Yeezy 3 show, the new album is already so much better than Yeezus and we're only three tracks in.
  6. Oh man, this is great news. I loved Forgive, and I'm really digging the preview of Diffraction; it's still very much the Com Truise sound, but I'm glad he decided to deviate further from those slow-fast jams that he did up until Wave 1. That sound was getting a bit stale and I was afraid he'd never shake it up. I'm not sure if I'm gonna regret this or not, but I'm gonna see if Criminal has any colored copies when it hits physical stores in April. I just can't justify spending $21 total on a five-track EP right now.
  7. I'm usually up late with nothing to do, so today, I decided I'd file my taxes at 2am. It took less than an hour, and I'm getting back a pretty decent chunk of change for my standards. Figuring out what I'm gonna do with whatever's left after I get my bank account back above "pathetic" is gonna be fun. I'm actually considering a flight to Chicago, since I haven't been in forever and I might be able to stay with some friends whom I haven't seen in a few years. I dunno, it's all up in the air until I actually get my refund.
  8. Good to know. That was my next guess, just because it literally couldn't have been anything else.
  9. Okay, this might be a stupid question, but I found a copy of this yesterday at a record/comic shop on my way back from my parents' house, and I think it's either a clear or white copy but I'm not entirely sure, since it's got a shimmery, almost metallic silver look to it. If it's not a clear or white copy, I can't seem to find a pressing that matches up to it, unless I'm just dumb and can't read anything on Discogs anymore. Anyone know what's up?
  10. Went to the Mall of Georgia yesterday and picked up the first records I've bought in what seems like a few months. I've been so out of the loop recently. Jonny Craig - A Dream is a Question You Don't Know How to Answer (HT exclusive, orange vinyl) Being As An Ocean - Dear G-d (I honestly have no idea which pressing it is)
  11. Aside from taking pills and getting a real job somehow, what's the best way to stop feeling gross and useless?

  12. I've been thinking about getting a dog for years now, and a shelter that has several dogs of interest does a meet and greet event on Saturdays at a Petco near one of my favorite places to hang out in Atlanta. I might actually try to get up and out to see who's there and ask a few questions, mainly whether or not I'd even be able to adopt through them since their adoption process is really intense. Like, I'm not even kidding when I say they make it seem like you're adopting a human child. The application is like a job application; it's about six pages long, they check all of your references (both personal and veterinary), they do a home visit, then there's a mandatory two week trial adoption period before they'll even give you ownership of the dog. I don't know, maybe this is more common than I thought.
  13. I get embarrassed for Georgia every time Governor Deal declares a state of emergency for two inches of snow. And also any time he does anything at all, but mostly the snow thing.
  14. I thought people stopped calling Justin Bieber a girl like four years ago, tbh
  15. Okay, we finally finished the holiday festivities earlier this evening. Here's the full haul: 55-200mm lens for my D3200 nice sturdy tripod 3 point lighting kit ugly xmas sweater ornament big ol' box of cologne samples steel wok and wooden utensils to get my stir fry on pair of black and red mid-top shoes box of Fererro Rocher chocolates stuff from my SS two $25 Kroger gift cards $25 Amazon gift card Overall, some amazing gifts that I'm totally grateful for, and a lot of time spent with my family, making it a pretty great xmas.
  16. I got a 55-200mm lens for my D3200 for Xmas today! So psyched to start using this thing. I sense a trip into the city in my immediate future.
  17. It was actually me! I guess my hints were a bit too subtle. Glad you like everything, though! The Batmanga book is the English translation of the original manga adaptation of the comic series, back from the short-lived Batman craze Japan went through in the mid-1960s. I asked the guy who runs my local comic shop what would be a good gift for a Batman fan, and he suggested this, so I flipped through a few pages and it seemed too cool not to get. Also, glad to hear about the Kishi Bashi album working out for your ladyfriend! Happy coincidence, haha.
  18. Okay, we just opened a few gifts as a precursor to the "big ticket" stuff. I got an adorable ornament, two Kroger gift cards, a box of cologne samples (I told the parental units I wanted a bottle of cologne and they decided to get me a bunch of samples so I could pick my favorite instead of them getting a full bottle of something I might not like), and a 55-200mm Nikkor lens for my DSLR! Definitely wasn't expecting that last one, so it's been a pretty good day.
  19. So far, aside from my SS box, I've gotten a $25 Amazon card, a box of fancy chocolate, and one of the best smelling candles I've ever owned in my entire life. I'm unwrapping three things later this evening, but the "big ticket items" won't happen until next Tuesday. Seriously, though, that candle is fucking amazing.
  20. Alright, here's my list for the year, in no particular order: Oneohtrix Point Never - Garden of Delete Dance Gavin Dance - Instant Gratification Neon Indian - Vega Intl. 21. Atlanta is definitely a fun place to record shop. Criminal Records, Wax 'n Facts, and Decatur CD can all be accessed by MARTA, and there's a train station in the airport that takes you directly into the city, which is really convenient. There's also the two Wuxtry Records locations: one in Decatur and one in Athens, which is about an hour's drive outside the city. I might be a little biased, but I think the Athens one is much better. If you end up deciding to make the trip out to Athens, Low Yo Yo Stuff is worth checking out as well. Like Fowty mentioned, there's a bunch of other fun things to do in the city as well, and most of the "touristy" stuff is easily accessible via MARTA, provided you don't mind taking public transit.
