This is all awesome - thanks, all. Is there anything else in the Wicker Park area worth checking out? I wanted to try both Handlebar and Kitchen 17 so I’m glad they are both around good record stores. 

Hey all - it’s been ten years since I’ve been to Chicago and I’m heading back in a few weeks. I’ve done a lot of research, but also curious as to recommendations from VC on record stores for used hardcore/punk/indie, vegan food, bars, and other fun stuff to do.

Also, is the Numero Group store worth checking out? It’s a bit out of the way and I’ll only be in Chicago for three full days, but one of those will be a Friday when it’s open.

This record deserves it’s own tour. Throwing that into the universe now that we finally will have a vinyl pressing.

Does 1-2-3-4 Records do sales for RSD or any codes? Can’t find any info so assuming no, but could use one 🙃

I wish I could remember the whole story, but there was an interview with Walter like 15+ years ago where he talks about how he fought to record this with Don Fury (big accomplishment while on a major label) and Don had just changed his setup so it wasn’t recorded to tape like all the classic recordings we love from his studio. This record definitely would have been a hundred times bigger if the recording didn’t sound so thin. The songs themselves are all bangers. 

This is all great info and really helps me plan since I’m only there a few days. Also, thanks for the vegan food recommendations. I literally can’t believe I hadn’t thought to look up food yet. Also wild because I thought I had only been to Asheville, but I guess I’ve been to Charlotte because I did eat at Bean like ten years ago. I had went down for some fest with Test of Time and it’s all a blur at this point.  

I’m going to be in Charlotte for a few days, and I’m looking for the stores that have the best used selection of hardcore/punk/indie. I’ve done some research online already, but would love some input from locals or anyone who has shopped in that area. Thanks in advance 🙃

Thanks, everyone. I want to say that when I filed the dispute I had to pick item not received. They also used to have an appeal feature which is no longer an option. I guess I’ll call him them and honestly I’m so mad about the whole thing I might just report it to my CC company and have to deal with getting a new card. Sending PMA to all the good sellers out there that make this hobby not a nightmare. 

Looking for some help from the board because it’s been SO long since I’ve dealt with a shitty seller.  I bought a record on discogs and received the wrong record. I have transcripts with the seller because I assumed it was an honest mistake, and when I finally asked for a refund they stopped responding. I opened a PayPal case and they just closed it because the seller provided the tracking info saying I received a package essentially. I’m not seeing an option to reopen this case. Again, it’s been a long time so looking for any and all help here. Thank you 🙏🏼

Anyone by chance have a copy of the No Pressure 7” that they would sell for a reasonable price? I hate spinning 7”s these days, but this record has really grown on me and I snoozed on the Triple B press.

Relapse is already on their back catalog. Also, EVERYONE buy as much Cave In shit you can directly from Relapse so they feel it will be cost effective to get some lawyers working on the rights for Antenna.
