  1. I tend to have great luck with unpriced records. At Phonopolis here in Montreal they had just unveiled the 7'' section after they moved and none of the records had prices yet. I fished out a couple of Superchunk singles and brought them to the guy. He looked it up online and said 'one of these sold for 8, another for 12, how's 6 sound?' or something like that. The other good score I had was Neurotica (I think) in Toronto. There was another box of unpriced singles sitting there and I found Alkaline Trio - Hell Yes and the Blue Meanies split. He asked for 15 for the two together.
  2. I picked up Thrice - Vheissu in a record store I tend not to bother with for 11.99. They rarely if ever get more recent stuff in so I guess they didn't know what to do with it. It was a little scuffed but I sold it for a pretty decent markup. I too check out Craigslist all the time for potential scores. The best I had was trekking out to the middle of nowhere to go through half-a-dozen boxes of old rock records. While there was a lot of stuff you find everywhere else, they were all a dollar. The biggest score was Rolling Stones - Their Majesties Satanic Request first pressing with the hologram cover. I've seen it go for 40$ quite a few times.
  3. So broke right now, but I may hit you up at a later date. Amazing stuff in here.
  4. Is it safe to assume that if we didn't get an answer it's because the stuff is gone?
  5. Another thing you'll notice especially with UK albums from the 60's is they'll have different tracklistings. Bands like the Beatles, the Stones, the Kinks, etc. put their albums out in the UK before the US. They would swap deep cuts for singles on the subsequent US pressings, meaning that certain albums have radically different content despite being otherwise identical.
  6. I know there's a guy who owns a record store that I go to a lot who says German presses are often better. No idea why, though.
  7. I've got one of these that I'm looking to unload. Send me your offers!
  8. Bumpity bump, thanks for your interest everyone. I'll get back to everyone who messaged me soon.
  9. Unloading some stuff, fielding offers. Supergrass - Supergrass (no poster) Glassjaw - Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence (black) The Swellers - My Everest (blue) Riverboat Gamblers - To the Confusion of our Enemies (grey marble) Shipping will be a little more expensive since I'm in Canada. Not looking to make a ton off of these, I'll consider any reasonable offer. Here's some stuff I'm looking for: The Replacements - Let it Be Jawbreaker - Bivouac Two Gallants - What the Toll Tells most Jonathan Richman (original) 60's Kinks most Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds etc. Here's a link to my collection in case you want a better idea of what I might be into: https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ah6ADTux6s2KdGF6RnV3eW1oRU42N2RQU1hhZzhkUEE&hl=en_US&pli=1#gid=0 Let's see them offers!
  10. dude, if you find any cult albums, let me know. been looking for some nice conditioned ones. there are very few found here. A record store I go to every week has three or four Cult albums in the new arrivals bin currently. I have no idea what titles or prices but I can check it out for you next time I'm there (likely tomorrow or Saturday).
  11. does the black of this go for something? i picked up a used copy for like 10 bucks in a store not long ago.
  12. Any idea why The Historical Conquests is a full 10 bucks more expensive than the other vinyl?
  13. A Slice Of Lemon maybe? I can't remember. I should go down and check it out soon. Maybe it's worth something... At Phonopolis? It's The Thing That Ate Floyd. Been eyeing that one as well...
  14. I don't know...sure, it's a good price, but the record was so mass produced and really isn't worth much. Unfortunately a lot of people think that the more popular a band is, the more money they'll get for their records. However, this isn't true. It's bands who are less popular who put out releases which are scarce and in limited supply. Those releases will fetch more money. People, and some collectors, don't get this. Sorry, but most of those Bob DYlan, NOFX, and Epitaph records releases aren't worth shit. I think finding a record you want to listen to at a price much less than you'd be willing to pay could be considered a good deal but then again I'm one of those retards that listens to the records I buy.
