  1. Yeah I did the math and if you order the LP's separately it's around 200 shipped so about $40 cheaper. I wouldn't mind having some of their earlier material but this way I can piece it out over time too. Bought Rubber Soul, Sgt. Peppers, and the stereo only Abbey Road along with Led Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy for $60.
  2. Johnny Cash At Folsom Prison. The entirety of both shows he and others played there was released a few years ago too which is pretty neat.
  3. No longer a rumor. https://twitter.com/frodusescape/status/570093823906467840
  4. The podcast "This American Life" covered this issue last week and will continue to in the episode being released tomorrow as well. http://www.thisamericanlife.org/radio-archives/episode/547/cops-see-it-differently-part-one
  5. Exactly the same here, must coincide with turning 18. I remember listening to Muppet story book records when I was a kid until my parent got a CD player and it got put away and then I dug it out the summer between high school and college. I started thrifting records in college and it's been all downhill (uphill?) from there buying new presses of bands I liked and the weird stuff you find thrifting sometimes.
  6. I remember them playing it on the Brand New/Thrice/mewithoutYou tour. Dustin had a CB radio looking thing that modulated his voice for the end of the song, it was pretty great.
  7. Still my all-time favorite like I said in the original post. Love the passion and emotion throughout. Probably listened to 200-300 times. edit: first heard it in 2009 for context.
  8. Thanks for doing that, bookmarked this a while ago and is an awesome resource.
  9. Definitely Please Come Home, and his Christmas album This Good Night Is Still Everywhere if you like Christmas music, as it's basically the same style. But yeah his solo/Modern Post stuff has been pretty blah with the exception of It's Not Enough as Batman pointed out above. Remember reading somewhere around when this album came out that he was going to do another album in the vein of PCH.
  10. 40% off tomorrow, warning "vinyl s" ahead. http://instagram.com/p/v69U7MAXkh/ edit: autocorrects to vinyl, ha.
  11. Sounds perfect, and the green swirl and pink label go great with the artwork. Too bad it took so long to get here.
  12. Basically here to reiterate the good vibes everyone is getting so far. Really excited to spin my sunburst when it gets in.
  13. Guessing From the Kettle Unto the Coil won't be featured. Think I saw somewhere that George said that wasn't necessarily an indication of where the band was headed. Regardless, would love a 7" press of it, maybe a black friday RSD release?
  14. Really bummed this tour isn't making it's way to the Upper Midwest, have seen them 5 or so times previously, but Foxes is definitely my favorite of their's and one my favorites, period. Would have just road tripped it somewhere, but can't get too far from home because of work. Hope ya'll enjoy though.
  15. Got the TKOL newspaper album in today that I bought on discogs, spinning now, sounds super. On a related note, if anyone has an In Rainbows discbox or a deluxe Eraser that they would be willing to part with for a fair price, message me. Have the embossed AMOK album already so good there. Got a shipping notice for TMB this morning also.
  16. Been rocking Sanuks all summer after the Birkenstocks I had a while ago wore out extremely fast. I know you can get them resoled but still didn't seem to be worth it. The Sanuks have been holding up well though and are extremely comfortable. For shoes, I usually have a few pairs of some combination of Pumas, Nikes or Chuck All-Stars.
  17. Really happy to hear that the recording from p4k fest was just crap, was wondering if the band just didn't sound good live, so that's good to know, but yeah the studio version rules.
  18. To be "that other guy" https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/the-grey-man-ep-ep/id724545780
  19. Here's a wikipedia article about it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony/ATV_Music_Publishing
