Personally very stoked on this. Absolutely love this band, and feel they’re slept on. Glad Numero is releasing their work. Also very excited for all the other 90s emo, hardcore, etc they’re putting out this summer. Just gonna stop buying records except everything Numero. (Half kidding…)

Got mine in today. This is just insultingly bad. So first off the PVC sleeve has a strip of glue on it, so once you peel the tab up that’s pretty much it. You couldn’t even close it again if you wanted. The packaging was just a mailer so the PVC sleeve is creased and folded anyway; good thing it’s being discarded - but I paid for it. Secondly this packaging is basically two sleeves. That’s it. There’s no gatefold. The embossed white cover that makes you think it’s a gatefold via the picture is just an embossed sleeve. It’s not even wide enough for it to count as housing for two records because that’s not what it is. The other sleeve is just a standard sleeve made out of the same card stock / paper. The discs are definitely under 180g. I don’t have a scale, but I can tell. Lastly the wording on the site made it seems the entire release was mastered, but the wording on the PVC clarifies just the unreleased songs were “mastered for vinyl”. Even better is that is the most marred record I’ve ever received. It’s full of scuffs and scratches. Those paper sleeves really did a great job… How Tc could charge anything over $25 for this is beyond me. And that’s putting aside how I’m going to need replacement discs. Wow. If I didn’t need this to keep up my collection I’d do a return / charge back.

Dig this album. Might pick it up for the right price. It’s DW so I’m sure it’ll be reasonable.

The one ‘positive’ is that it’s Triple Crown’s loss and not the band’s. But they do have to deal the perception of people think this was their choice. Also those PVC can give off gases that will warp / discolor the gatefold over time. So I’d store it separately on any of your releases just to be safe. Do you have the Castles 7”? Cause that PVC sleeve is warped as shit for me. I specifically bought two in case it happened, which it did. I still don’t see how the packaging costed so much. It really isn’t anything special.

I’m really curious how this remaster job is gonna sound cause the 24bit FLAC version sounds incredible.

$25 for an LP and pretty much $7 per 7” is great for todays pricing. Kerplunk with the bonus 7” via Adeline was $26 in 2014.

Tempted for 1,039 even though I have the split color one. The mastering job on that one sounds amazing. Is it using the same plates, @thischarmingham?

Oh god I didn’t even see the PVC sleeve either. Man, this is so underwhelming. I’m gonna have to store this in a separate poly bag. This release is a great example of what not to do. Sucks cause I was pretty much relaying what Johnny was told by Triple Crown. I was expecting much more than this by what he / they told us. Sigh.

But to play devil’s advocate, I am also underwhelmed by this, and don’t think it’s worth $65. Just wanted to give you guys context that this was more so a TC issue and not a band issue.

Once they found out it was gonna cost that much they tried to figure out how to make it more fair, cause they weren’t picturing a $65 price point. But there is more stuff in the pipeline that they are happy about, and you’ll be. Can’t say much but they got the rights to the Cabot show so that’s coming soon(ish).

The band didn’t know the pricing for this thing until it was already made. The pricing is due to the packaging. If they knew it was going to be this much they wouldn’t have done it. Also, the fest was its own challenge. Feel free to PM me, as it was pretty much Johnny and I trying to make the entire thing work. I’ve explained it before, buts it’s much more costly than you think, especially when it’s not for thousands like a festival. This is more of a TC issue than a band issue. Another reason that Caspian will be leaving TC in due time and managing themselves.

It’ll make more sense in hand. A lot of embossing and good paper / card stock used. I wish they had more photos, but from what I’ve been told it’s gonna be awesome. Think of how great the packaging for the standard release was to base that off of.

Not sure about the EU store. I do know that they’re making almost no profit on these and didn’t find out the cost of the packaging until after the process was done. So that’s why these are a little high, but could be higher. I think these are exclusive to their site, but I’ll ask Johnny just in case.

Deluxe version dropping at noon. Went all out on the packaging so it’ll be a little pricey, but it’s sweet.

Looks like Bob Ludwig did the mastering so we should be in luck.

I’m waiting to hear the mixing and mastering of the whole album. Don’t want to pay almost $50 for a record that could sound like it was mixed underwater. Those variants ‘in theory’ are rad. Hope they come out as intended.
