  1. My thoughts exactly. After all Justin Vernon did most of that recording in the woods, alone. If I remember correctly for some mini YouTube documentary about him, I believe he even mastered the record? Either way, it's lo-fi and warm which isn't bad, but people do have to raise the levels to listen.
  2. Curious as to why they [black wax] are terrible pressings? Low quality?
  3. "Am I the only one who thinks this is incredibly stupid? Its like a kickstarter without the kickstarter. Kids are obsessed with him so of course he can take advantage of one of them and take $1000 from them for a stupid internet ukulele performance " For the record my tone is low-key and mellow, not trying to get into a yelling match just trying to be extremely subjective here. What's the big rip all about? Who cares if someone appreciates them to the point of support. The musician is trying to make a living. If he has demand that's good for him. No need to rain on his parade by claiming there should only be some sort of "standard" worship where society agrees it's ok to like something this much and express it that much. My point is, why should one rain on someones parade just because it doesn't meet or exceed their expectation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6Hm8SXcFi8
  4. Received shipping Tracking on the 15th, it's now the 21st and still no update should I be concerned?
  5. http://jealousbutcher.com/JB109.html LTD. to 500 colored. RIYL: THE SHINS, THE BEATLES...
  6. That's rad! I guess it's also safe to assume you finally got your packages as well? Post a picture of your blood red when you can, I've yet to see it on the inter web!
  7. Captured Tracks. According to Sonny (Minks), the original idea was to have have Blood Red vinyl. He went on to say that the plant that CT pressed the records at messed up and printed the orange clearish one with pink remnants. So CT personally gave Sonny 50 red ones in which he posted on his FaceBook. Probably mainly sold them at shows.
  8. FYI: There are blood red copies of this, 50 according to Minks himself. He said they are completely sold out. So check around if you're interested
  9. Here you kids go, a pre-order of B-Sides only on vinyl https://bleep.com/release/46419-grizzly-bear-shields-bsides
  10. "if you're only buying the deluxe version because it's limited: fuck you. no one cares. buy it for the music or because it's cool or don't buy it. pressing more makes it so that fans can get their hands on it for the actual price and not at overblown rates from shitty ebay flippers" Check out what this one guy said on FaceBook. Apparently to this guy, buying limited records because they are, well, limited is an unauthentic practice. He goes to say, "buy it for the music." Well, there are obviously cheaper 15$ editions... He then goes on to say, "buy it for the music or because it's cool.." Well yeah I think those who ordered from the 250 Deluxe Box are indeed buying it because of the music and because it's cool. It seems most are totally buying this record because of the music and it's cool. The joke is really on all involved minus In The Red Records. In The Red wins, they have people wanting more, they have people buying, people are supporting Fuzz. Because truthfully, if In The Red Records gave two shits about everyone getting a copy, for a fair price, they'd put a purchase limit.
  11. 45 minutes for me over my standard wifi 1. Go to Settings 1/2. Go to General 2. Check for updates 3. Voilah
  12. Anyone downloading this with a 4s?
  13. So this is the bus I'm on. -The more the merrier! I think a ton of Ty Segall fans should have a fair chance at the deluxe edition. So two things, ITRR shouldn't have invited a select few to know when it was being released! (Because believe me, he himself e-mailed me to tell me it was being released that Sunday and he told me night but I found that it was available afternoon PST) -And the advertising was just horrible created a hype atmosphere of buy it now or it's gone forever. When a label posts out of /250 that makes people panic and not think about the costs. It's understandable that the Deluxe costs more to make and they don't profit as much off of it. But now the Deluxe special edition is less rare than the "other" limited Blue copy! So yes, the more the merrier but just horrible horrible initial marketing.
  14. I agree 15$ is pricey. Crappy economy we live in, take into account some people have to put food on their tables whether it's selling coffee or records I guess. Plus it's not like it's Universal Music Group or Warner Bro's releasing a mass of these at a time. I guess that's one way to see it.
  15. Is anyone having trouble getting In The Red Records to respond to some e-mails?
  16. True, they could've done the 750 Deluxe run at around 30$ and still profit handsomely I bet.
  17. "There will be no difference in the new batch of deluxe Fuzz LPs. There were 500 to begin with. We're making another 250." -In The Red Records... so 750 total. Well yes if you're going to buy the die cast outfit or the hairy fuzzy outfit haha. The standard edition is 10$ not bad for what I've seen for cassette collectors.
  18. I know someone who has ordered and haven't recieved theirs as well. Call them! My friend ordered from them on the 28th of August and on the 15th of Sept. they got a confirmation USPS delivery tracking whatever thingy but it hasn't been shipped apparently. My friend said he's talked to not one person in charge of shipping but probably around 3 different people. Oh well, LA Label, probably high on pot and mixed up orders.
  19. Ok wrong info, they are already ordered but will be available by end of next month. From FB post.
