  1. You probably haven't heard of Australian band The Schoenberg Automaton until now. The band's campaign is approaching the final 24hrs and they have <$900 left to meet the goal. I haven't read all the fine print so I'm unsure what happens if the goal is not met. I think I'm going to kick in the $56 CDN for the 2 hardcopy tab books + digital download. Learning stuff from bands like this is usually very tough by ear, and not enough people make an effort to transcribe and share so I think it would be a cool resource to have and at a very decent price. If you like death metal, deathcore, djent, grind, blastbeats, anything heavy and technical, take a peek, you might like it. I'm going to keep a close eye on this, if it gets close to the goal I think I'll have to put a hold on some albums I was planning on picking up in order to kick in for the tab books before it ends. To see if you might be interested, here you can listen to their previous album in full: Pitch in / check out the rewards they are offering here: http://www.pozible.com/tsa
  2. This style is almost overdone already and I'm already starting to get annoyed with the 'blackgaze' tag. But Vesper is fresh, interesting and memorable. This is an AOTY contender and I think 'Gauss' will probably be my SOTY The CD version came out in March and it's received universally great reviews. Encyclopaedia Metallum gave this 95/100. On SputnikMusic.com Vesper is ranked in the top 5 on black metal and post-rock charts, #1 on the sludge chart and #15 in all genres (voted by users). Stream it entropia.bandcamp.com The Kickstarter. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2119343023/entropias-stunning-debut-album-lets-put-it-on-viny 250 black 100 band exclusive black w/grey splatter (10 on kickstarter) 150 black/bone splatter there are a couple test presses left.
