  1. SIASL is a weekly podcast I do with my brother, which was initially to chronicle my transition from New Yorker to North Carolinian, and is now just me and him shooting the shit. However, we've recently started to have guests on. Past guests include From Autumn To Ashes/The Wanted/Rita Ora/Jim Breuer guitarist Brian Deneeve, and UFC's The Ultimate Fighter (season 2) finalist Luke Cummo. SIASL on iTunes [Archive of past episodes here] ------------------- This week's guest is Balloon Boy himself, Mr. Falcon Heene! I remember him flying away in a weather balloon and a bunch of old ladies crying about it, then the kid coming down from his attic and blowing up his dad's publicity stunt on national TV later that day. Well, it turns out he has a band with his brothers, does YouTube videos and is still reachin' for that golden ring. So, I had him on episode 32! We discuss the infamous Balloon Boy Hoax, how he feels about the title now, life in Florida, The Heene Boyz' beef with Unlocking The Truth, their love of Trump, plus an update on their touring plans and new material! Stream/DL episode on Podbean ------------------- Next week's guest will be Dan from Incendiary! Thanks for checking it out!
  2. i'm really proud to be a part of a new podcast and youtube series called Live From The Rock Room. my friends Mike Felumlee (of Alkaline Trio/Smoking Popes fame), his wife Stephanie Wysocki, his friend from high school Ken Nowka, and i want to share what we're doing with you. we've only been at it for a couple months, but we've already gotten some amazing bands and artists in, and TONS of great press. here's what we do: we'll have a band come in to Mike and Stephanie's house in Westmont, Illinois and record 3-5 songs in the practice space that Mike built in their basement. Ken runs the video gear (and edits everything we shot later), MIke records the audio (and mixes it later), and i take still photos. when the bands are done playing, i sit down with them and we do an interview. sometimes those interviews are 15 minutes. sometimes they're an hour. we upload videos of the individual songs to the LFTRR youtube page https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcGzmfGcuPqQXpuTaLKUSXA (^^ go subscribe if you haven't already!!) and we take the audio from the full session and make one long podcast out of the whole thing that you can find on iTunes by searching Live From The Rock Room. it's been a really incredible experience to watch this thing grow from an idea Mike shared with me 6 months ago into what it is today. and it's really exciting to look ahead and see what amazing things are in store later this summer, and down the road for this project. we've had bands like the Smoking Popes, Shawn Harris from The Matches, Mikey Erg, and Lifted Bells in, and we're definitely going to keep having bigger, well-known bands. but we also take pride in the fact that we have this unique platform to expose you all to new bands and new music from all over the country that you might not otherwise have had a chance to hear, and we're absolutely going to do our best to give those smaller bands the exposure we feel they deserve. if you haven't liked the facebook page yet, the link is https://www.facebook.com/Livefromtherockroom you should also subscribe to the youtube channel, where we upload 2 new videos each week. please take 43 seconds out of your day and do both of those things for us. we're working really hard to make this something special, and hopefully that is clear. if you have any questions about anything, or suggestions for us, feel free to get in touch. thanks for reading, watching, and listening. -dan / LFTRR here are a couple examples of some of the individual videos we've done:
  3. Looking for recommendations on Podcasts having to do with music, records or whatever. I've started listening to Jamey Jasta's podcast. Some really interesting tour stories and stuff from the guests he brings on. Recommend me some more.
  4. Anyone else jumped on the bandwagon and enjoying the real life drama of serial?
  5. Jesse Cannon and I have a podcast called Off The Record. In a new episode we discussed vinyl reissues at length regarding how the licensing process, band reach out, etc processes go. This was all in-light of the recent Cartel/Enjoy The Ride controversy and spurred on by my experience with Bad Timing Records and our reissuing of Acceptance and Valencia releases. The discussion starts a couple minutes in. We also talked about "marketing excitement" regarding how it took longer than expected for Midtown's recent reissue to sell out. You can listen here.
  6. Hey, if anyone is interested me and some friends are doing a vinyl/music related podcast called sharing needles with friends. I figured some of you may dig it.https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/sharing-needles-with-friends/id784282537?mt=2&uo=4 for the itunes link or sharingneedleswithfriends.com for the blog. Hope some of you like it! cheers, Derek
  7. So a dude I used to do a show with a few years ago and I decided to give it another go. There is no real purpose or point to this podcast. Hopefully we can make you chuckle a little. http://www.cyberears.com/index.php/Show/audio/6030
