  1. http://store.warnermusic.com/jeff-the-brotherhood FIRST 300 ORDERS FROM THE JEFF THE BROTHERHOOD MUSIC STORE INCLUDE SIGNED PHOTO First single can be heard here: http://www.stereogum.com/1728922/jeff-the-brotherhood-coat-check-girl/mp3s/ Might have to order just for the album cover.
  2. A bit late on this, but for anyone who's interested - you can pre-order this sweet Boris & Merzbow collaboration in a splatter DLP/t-shirt bundle now from Hydra Head, $40. http://bit.ly/1DS7NFO
  3. Dereck Higgins is a super cool guy whom I am sure some of you must know from his awesome YouTube channel where he shows his massive vinyl collection. His new release called "Myths...Realities" is set to be released by Record Store Day (April 18th). I get a strong Slowdive influence from listening to the sample on Bandcamp, so I have to recommend this to anyone who is a fan of dreamy, down-tempo, shoegaze, post rock, instrumentals, etc. The vinyl is available for pre-order now, and comes in 2 color variants: 100x gray splatter vinyl (European store orders, use the Bandcamp order form) 150x blue splatter vinyl (US orders)
  4. Hey everyone here at VC! You can now pre-order SPIRITS debut 7" from Coin Toss Records and hear the second track from it over at GlueHC.com! We're really amped on finally having this come out so hopefully if you dig the first song you'll feel so inclined to snag a copy here: http://cointossrecords.storenvy.com/ Much like we did with Test of Time, we strive to have interesting and unique artwork to compliment the music on our releases and this 7" is no different. It comes with a 6 panel layout where each panel is a cool/iconic picture from in and around Boston, including old pictures of some family members and such. The whole thing is grey-scaled but the different record editions will each have their own 7"x7" color transparency that will act as the 'front cover' of the artwork. So essentially, for the pre-order version, you'll receive a black vinyl record and the panel will be folded to have the above image (the old Boston Braves stadium after the team left town!) as the front cover. It will then have a transparency with just color ink printed onto it that will colorize the one image. Pretty neat, right? There are three vinyl colors... Black, Clear, and Clear with smoke and at the above link you'll find a link to pick up all three if you're interested as well as just the single pre-order copy. Thanks for checking out the music and feel free to help spread the word if you're into it. We really appreciate it! 5. Hey all - Don't know if there will be any interest in this. I have had several people show interest in some Sparrow Sleeps albums on vinyl, so let's see how serious those people were. There's a Kickstarter campaign for a vinyl release of "Your Favorite Lullabies: Lullaby renditions of your favorite Brand New songs." Rewards include digital downloads, copies of the album on vinyl, custom lullabies, test pressings and more. I think this is the kind of project that Kickstarter was made for. I obviously don't know if there is a huge demand for Brand New lullabies on vinyl, but I guess we will find out in thirty days. 11. CANCERS- “Fatten The Leeches” Digital is out today on Bandcamp, Itunes, Spotify & all other digital outlets!!! "CANCERS are an Athens-based alternative love child born to Ella Kaspar (DEAD DOG) and Lenny Miller (UNFUN) by way of Vancouver, Canada and New York City. The two met while toiling away on tour with their respective previous bands, and joined together out of a desire to craft their own music free from compromise. The result consists of crushing melodies, dreamy pop girl vocals, and new alternative guitars. While Cancers’ sound does evoke familiar grunge-era angst, Kaspar’s airy vocals, comparable to Beach House’s Victoria Legrand, distinguish the band from their predecessors, marrying vulnerability with sex. With their debut album Fatten the Leeches, the couple crawl hand-in-hand through anguish, alienation, despair and into the light. Tired of being pigeon-holed in the lo-fi DIY of their past, the band enlisted Jack Endino to produce the album. Endino’s early work with Seattle heavy-weights like Nirvana, Hole, Babes in Toyland and Soundgarden, established him as a king of underground rock records, and has been referred to as “the godfather of grunge.” Fatten the Leeches delivers, resolving Cancer’s adolescent lust for distortion and riffs with a satisfying pop sheen. Recorded at Soundhouse Studio in Seattle, "Fatten the Leeches" will be released on September 16 via Digital format. Dead Broke Rekerds will be handling the Vinyl & Cassette Tape, while their own label Kandy Kane Records, handles the CD version. Cancers will be playing a string of Midwest and East coast cities this summer/fall in support of their release." Jam this shit: https://deadbrokerekerds.bandcamp.com/album/fatten-the-leeches WHITE VINYL LP PRE-ORDER still available (Limited to 100!) at: http://www.deadbrokerecords.com (*Shipping in October)
  12. Just a heads up for anyone who hasn't seen it. Tom Petty's upcoming album is up for preorder. Looks like there is a limited variant being sold only through tompetty.com. 180 gram 2LP that includes an extra track. Music spread out acrossed 3 sides, with side D being etched. Price is extremely steep at $51.98 plus 9 bucks shipping, but judging by his albums since the mid Nineties, it will only get more expensive as time goes on. Amazon has the 'non-limited' single LP variant for 26 bucks. Limited edition description:

Half Way 6. Hyper Aware 7. Public Transit 8. Psychic Message 9. Deep End 10. Everyone Knows Everyone 11. Exposed 12. Haunt Creative Adult's style of fuzzed out, dark, noisy psychedelic post-punk led them to to Montreal, QC where they recorded their debut full-length /Psychic Mess'. Engineered and produced by Efrim Menuck of Godspeed You! Black Emperor at Hotel 2 Tango Studios in Montreal, the band returned with a dramatic punk rock record. Infused with psychedelic haze and dark goth-rock calling to mind bands like Bauhaus, Fugazi, Sonic Youth and Scratch Acid. Not for the faint of heart, Psychic Mess is a reminder things can still be crazy and nothing is ever chill. Momentary Lapse Creative Adult comes from the diverse musical breeding ground of California’s North Bay Punk scene. The band’s sonic blast careens between the harsh, noisy punk of Scratch Acid and Gang of Four while carrying the brooding emotion of Joy Division’s darkest moments. This new 7” single previews darker depths explored on their forthcoming LP, engineered and produced by Efrim Menuck of Godspeed You! Black Emperor at Hotel 2 Tango Studios in Montreal. 16. We had five releases go up for pre-order on Friday. You can stream them all at http://head2wallrecords.bandcamp.com/ or order them at http://head2wallrecords.bigcartel.com/. Your time and attention is much appreciated. Self Defense Family - Live from Krazy Fest CS It's back! This incredible live recording of one of Self Defense Family's most talked-about performances is available on cassette once again. This time, almost certainly the last, it is limited to 300 copies, with purple shells and a simplified layout. Includes a digital download code. Human Animal / Wreckage - split 7" Despite a collective "members of" list that includes such heavyweights as Abnegation, Anchor, Brother’s Keeper, Buried Alive, It Dies Today, Jesus Wept, Phases, Run Devil Run, Shockwave, Smoke & Mirrors, xDisciplex AD, and more, it becomes clear immediately upon listening to these bands that they have no intention or resting on their laurels. On the contrary, Erie's Human Animal and Buffalo's Wreckage have taken their experience and used it to craft something new and unique, and even more intense than their impressive list of predecessors has prepared you for. Includes a digital download code. Also available bundled with the cassette version from Down For Anything Records or a new, exclusive Human Animal tank top! Northern Widows - s/t CS Northern Widows, the newest addition to the dark, seedy, underbelly of the Columbus heavy music scene, comes out of nowhere with a furious seven song EP of grimy, unnerving masterpieces. Featuring former members of Empire Of Rats and Avalanche A.D., none of this should be a surprise. But you are almost definitely not ready for this. This first edition, with hand-painted custom shells, is limited to 50 copies, and includes a digital download code. Martyr's Tongue - Exist To Suffer CS This EP from Puerto Rican Holy Terrorists Martyr's Tongue, described by Tight To The Nail as "every bit as impressive as Rot In Hell's 'Sins Of Malice' demo or Withdrawal's breakout 7″ 'Faith, Flesh & Blood'" is finally available in a physical format, and with an incredible new layout. This is chaotic, metallic hardcore at its very best. This cassette version also includes the four songs they contributed to a three-way split CD with Avalanche and Ablaze, as well as their cover of Nirvana's "Tourettes." Includes digital download code of the Exist To Suffer EP, and all bonus tracks, and is available on super-limited green shells, already more than half sold out. NW / GL / KT / AV - split 7" This four-way split 7" from long-time friends Native Wildlife, Glass Lungs, Killing Thing, and Aviator, is four unique and captivating examples of the perfect, skillful blending of beautiful and heavy. The intensity and honesty packed into these songs is everything you have come to expect from these bands. Includes digital download code.
  17. If you're like me, and were bummed that you weren't able to score the RSD Ghostbusters 10", there is good news. SoundStageDirect has a preorder up for this for $16.99. I called them to see if this was a mistake, but they said it really is a preorder for the next batch of them, coming in June. They said these will be just like the RSD version, except they won't be numbered. So, unless you really care about the number, you can get one without paying the RIDICULOUS eBay prices. Frankly, I hope this puts a little bit of a damper on the flippers' fun.
  18. WTB--Motion City Soundtrack 'I Am The Movie' DVD-- Hey, I knew about this and waited and thought it would be around for a while so I go to purchase this today and it is sold out. I was wondering if anybody Pre-Ordered this and would rather have their money back for this. I would like to buy this (at cost). Thanks.
  19. so Devon Kay & The Solutions are at it again. back in november, we released their first full length "Losing IT" as a limited run CD. there's been a lot of people asking when it's going to be pressed to vinyl, so we're going to leave that up to you guys. PRE ORDER HERE! the blue copies will be exclusive to the pre-order, and the black copies will be available after that at shows and on the website. if you've never listened to DK&S before, or just haven't heard Losing IT yet, head on over to the bandcamp page and stream it for free: LISTEN TO IT HERE! anything help you can give (whether it's $1, $100, or even just sharing the link to spread the word) would go a long way and be greatly appreciated. however, the pre-order isn't just for Losing IT on vinyl... devon's been living in boston the last 6 months or so, and has written a new EP's worth of songs. since the rest of the band still lives here in chicago, recording these new songs is going to take some help, too. all of the band's current savings are going toward getting devon back to chicago, so whatever help you can give would go toward covering recording costs. we're trying to get this all taken care of in time for Fest, which DK&S will be playing again this year. the sooner we reach the goal, the sooner we can get the ball rolling. please donate what you can, and help spread the word if you believe in what we're doing. we all sincerely appreciate it. -dan

  22. Hi guys, HERE! You can now order the vinyl with media mail shipping within the USA! We have limited stock in our USA distro (run by thomasj182 from VC!), so act quickly. If the demand is there, we could restock, but who knows! http://sorrowcarrier.bigcartel.com Original Thread: It's been a while since I've posted here, but I figured I'd come back and let you know where all the money I would have been spending here has been going. I started a small record label called Sorrow Carrier Records (https://www.facebook.com/SorrowCarrierRecords / www.twitter.com/sorrowcarrier), and the first release just dropped digitally. You can listen to that release, With Everything In Between by Safe To Say, at www.safetosayband.bandcamp.com The album is FFO: Daylight, Citizen, Turnover and Basement We decided to drop it digitally first, rather than wait for the vinyl and then release it all. Due to this, we are unsure when the vinyl will be ready, but pre-orders are available if anyone desires at www.safetosay.bigcartel.com We'll be keeping everyone updated with information about the pressing process as we get it, but we can't guarantee anything. If you don't want to wait for a preorder, you can hold off on ordering until we have them in hand, at which point I'll post again. Hope you enjoy it!
