  1. Does anyone know of any news about Manson reissuing any of his older albums on vinyl? Portrait of an american family, antichrist superstar, mechanical animals? Been searching for a long time. I know there is some on eBay and whatnot going for hundreds but I rather pay $30 for a repress if its ever going to happen. Thanks everyone
  2. There's been bootlegs of these floating around for a while now, but they have been finally reissued officially! Seem to be widely available if you google search (or hit up SRC).
  3. Beggars is finally reissuing Oceansize's second LP, Everyone Into Position. Outside of a MOV reissue, this has been out of print for a long time. Preorders are live and should be shipping in June (so they say). Not a bad price given the current pricing of 2xLPs. https://arkivestore.beggars.com/everyone-into-position Manchester rock band OCEANSIZE built a career and reputation of constructing sonic soundscapes from out of nowhere into the most monolithic, dynamic behemoths heard in aeons. The band formed in 1998 and released four albums before calling it a day in 2011. They gained favorable comparisons in the press to bands like Mogwai, Tool, Nirvana, Jane’s Addiction, My Bloody Valentine, Can, and Faith No More among others. Oceansize challenged themselves and thus by the same token ensured the listener doesn't become comfortable while listening. And let's face it, - comfortable is, after all, boring. Everyone Into Position was Oceansize’s second studio album and saw the band scale new heights of grandiose with ethereal and utterly captivating music that is brooding, dark, spacey, empowering, sprawling and at times angelic. Beggars Arkive will be reissuing it on June 3rd. The double album will be pressed on splattered yellow vinyl. Taking its title from the band's observations of how apathetic the world was becoming in 2005 and the pseudo-caring mentality that was sweeping the nation at that time, Everyone Into Position is an album that explores every emotion, sweeping the listener up in its beauty, its wholeness and musical greatness. The album was recorded and produced by Dan Austin at The Works Studio in Stockport, UK and mixed at Sarm Studios, London, by Coldplay producer Danton Supple. The Soundgarden-esque opener “The Charm Offensive” tells of an inner feeling of political corruptness. “Heaven Alive” - is packed with a new-found groove, and deals with drug taking and the verbal bullshit that transpires. But it's the final three songs on the album that are arguably some of Oceansize's most brilliant moments. Described by the singer Mike Vennart as the 'church suite' - listen to “Mine Host”, “You Can't Keep A Bad Man Down” and “Ornament / The Last Wrongs” collectively and you understand just what Mike means. From the simplicity of “Mine Host”, through to the crushing, middle finger to the world angst of “You Can't Keep..” through to the hymn-like closer, it's the ultimate climatic finale on any modern rock album. “…good music is often difficult because it forces the listener to make connections rather than just giving everything away on the first listen. Such is the case with this release, and repeated listens yield rewards. What, on first listen, sound like sprawling and unwieldy compositions coalesce into beautifully-orchestrated chaos.” - POPMATTERS Effloresce is still available too - for $20 no less. https://arkivestore.beggars.com/effloresce

  7. So I mentioned this in another thread that this was being worked on back in January. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=470279596364044&set=a.104826489576025.2965.103911536334187&type=1&theater Since Clumsy and You Are Freaking Me Out are seeing reissues and Samiam mentioned this again.... https://www.facebook.com/samiamband/posts/600839036593705 ....I figured its time to pump up this as well. I never gave this album a good chance because the production is too harsh and raw. I hope this is Banner Pilot's Resignation Day because I didn't really realize how amazing it was until they tweaked the recordings. Update 10/3/13! PO is up! Clouds in the Sky or Multi-colored splatter! http://store.noidearecords.com/collections/new-on-no-idea/products/samiam-whatever-s-got-you-down

  10. The Nils’ story has been described as a “Greek rock ‘n’ roll tragedy.” Forging a following in the mid ’80s with their melancholy punk-driven power-pop sound, the Montreal group became casualties of a record label deal gone bad, before spiralling into black holes of drug addiction and death. Despite languishing in legal limbo and quickly going out of print, The Nils’ 1987 debut album has become a Canadian cult classic, influencing members of Green Day, Hüsker Dü, Sloan, and Superchunk. Now, to celebrate the album’s 30th anniversary, Label Obscura is proud to reissue a deluxe remastered LP, available on 180 gram vinyl for the first time in decades. This edition of The Nils’ classic debut features new artwork from Yorodeo (the visual art collective of Dog Day’s Seth Smith), a gatefold jacket with archival photos, and liner notes by Jack Rabid, editor of New York’s influential music zine The Big Takeover. A series of live performances from the reformed Nils will follow throughout October. Pre-order here : https://labelobscura.bandcamp.com/album/the-nils-the-nils Listen here :

  13. I've been thinking, there's this vinyl boom happening, I just wondered what would be a good candidate for a vinyl reissue. There's a whole lot of albums that weren't issue in the nineties so I figured I might start there: The Crow soundtrack Alice In Chains - Facelift ... But there are more... What's on your wishlist?
  14. 90s Extreme Metal fans rejoice! Candlelight is reissuing Opeth's classic first 3 albums, along with Emperor's entire catalog, in coloured vinyl! Yay! http://candlelight.merchnow.com/
  15. Not that this is an official announcement by any means, but having heard some murmuring elsewhere about it, and this tweet from Nathan Burke, the bassist at the time, figured it was time to get a topic going. Pretty pumped, as this is my all-time favorite album, also hoping it can find a new audience during this reissue.
  16. Midnight Menu by Tokimonsta has been repressed on 500 copies of half orange/half blue vinyl. Two bonus tracks previously not on the first press vinyl release will be included as well. They are "simple reminder" and "death by disco". Super excited as this is one of my favorite hip hop/chill electronic albums. Copies are on hand ready to ship and can be ordered here: http://www.vinyl-digital.com/en/Beat-Art/Experimental-Abstract/Midnight-Menu-vinyl.html
  17. /// MELVINS | HOUDINI, STONER WITCH, AND STAG REISSUES Music Industry, 1993: everyone is looking to sign the “next” Nirvana. Atlantic Records found exactly the band they were looking for in the Melvins. Birthed in the Pacific Northwest gloom of Aberdeen that would spawn grunge music and culture, the Melvins were writing songs that were clearly inspired by the right stuff and written for the right people… and they had Nirvana’s unequivocal stamp of approval, which meant everything in the early 90’s. For the next four years after their signing, the Melvins would deliver three stellar, influential albums that were criminally only moderately appreciated at the time. In the past 23 years, they’ve continued onwards with Buzz Osborne, Dale Crover, and a revolving cast of bassists at the helm, cementing themselves as one of the most important American rock bands of all time. Houdini, Stoner Witch, and Stag have all been out of print on vinyl for over two decades and original copies can command into the three figures in back alley craps games. Third Man Records is proud to reintroduce these titles to the hungry vinyl-buying public, all remastered from original analog tapes, pressed on 180-gram vinyl and given the deluxe, gatefold jacket treatment. Official Release Date: June 24, 2016. Their best-selling release by a country-mile, this album crested at number 29 on on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. Houdini would be most folks introduction to the band and songs like “Honeybucket” received MTV airplay. first time on vinyl since 1993 six tracks produced by Kurt Cobain cover art by legendary artist Frank Kozik includes the vinyl-only bonus track “Rocket Reducer No. 62 (Rama Lama Fa Fa Fa)” originally by the MC5 LIMITED EDITION COLOR ON HOUDINI YELLOW. STONER WITCH TMR-296 The stellar seventh studio album by the Melvins is one of the most cohesive and beloved in the band’s catalog. With fan favorites like “Revolve” and “Queen” balanced with the impressive sound explorations of “Lividity” and “Shevil” and the result is one of the most praised albums of the band’s 30+ year career. first time on vinyl since 1994 LIMITED EDITION COLOR ON STONER WITCH DARK PURPLE. STAG TMR-297 The final album in the Melvins major label span, Stag finds the band fully spreading their wings (and budget) to create what is arguably their most wide-ranging and diverse album among the nearly two-dozen full-length studio albums the band has released since 1987. first time on vinyl since 1996 album now comfortably spans two discs while original release was crammed onto single disc portions of the album recorded at the legendary Sound City studios LIMITED EDITION COLOR ON RED AND AQUA SWIRL. (Mentioned in TMR thread, but I felt this deserved it's own thread as many people will be stoked on these since they have been OOP for quite some time.)
  18. With their "reincarnated" band (Ryan & Brian with some other dudes) touring, they apparently will have vinyl reissues available at their shows, and online after the tour, according to their recent Reddit AMA. Is anyone planning to go to one of the shows? If so can you be my hero and pick up an extra copy of whatever vinyl is for sale for me? I'd pay cost plus a bit extra for the trouble. I'm worried the vinyl will all sell out at their shows...
  19. Lost Wisdom has been out of print on vinyl for a while now. Here is an updated version with a more legitimate LP jacket, a new and better poster, all the lyrics, and a free download. If you don’t already know these recordings, they are special. Julie and Fred stopped in Anacortes for a couple days in 2008, musicians passing through, and recorded these quick and pretty versions of acoustic Mount Eerie songs in a small wooden room on the 3rd floor of an old old building. The voices harmonize and meld well in the room itself before even finding the microphone. Straightforward and powerful. (ten songs, white vinyl LP, heavy old style jacket, full color double sided jumbo poster on heavy uncoated stock, 34 1/2” x 23”, download card) http://www.pwelverumandsun.com/store -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pretty stoked about this one.

  21. Have you heard this yet? It's likely that you haven't, because Ilian's sole LP Love Me Crazy was released in one pressing and essentially lost in time. Album World, a major label subsidiary designed to release records intended for the record to fail as part of an elaborate tax write-off scam (a loophole discovered in the American tax system and abused from 1976 - 78). Album World — and other labels of its shady ilk — would claim to press thousands of each release, but only manufacture a few hundred then reporting the unsold copies to the IRS and immediately rarifying many a fine release such as Love Me Crazy. https://soundcloud.com/anthology_recs/hey-denise
  22. As many of you know the only The College Dropout has only been available on vinyl with the non remastered Brown cover version. It seems that Respect the Classics, who recently reissued 808s on vinyl and Yeezus on cassette, may have also reissued the Remastered version as you can see in the picture above from their website with the album having the White background. Has anyone purchased this album from them and can confirm? I have reached out to them on facebook and am still waiting for a response. In the meantime you can check out the listing on their website below: http://www.respecttheclassics.com/collections/all-products/products/college-dropout-lp http://www.respecttheclassics.com/collections/all-products/products/kanye-west-bundle
  23. Badly Drawn Boy's wonderful debut is being reissued as a deluxe, 3LP edition in honor if its 15th anniversary. I am actually listening to this album as I type in the forum entry... its so damn good. So good. So good. The 3rd LP will have 13 rare bonus tracks, and the LP will be numbered with a leatherette sleeve. Awesome. Amazon has a great price on this record ($27.99). MusicDirect is $50... Official description: 15 years ago, Badly Drawn Boy released his debut album, the pop masterpiece The Hour Of Bewilderbeast on XL Recordings. This 15th anniversary expanded edition is presented on numbered limited edition triple vinyl packaged in a stunning wide spined leatherette sleeve. When The Hour Of Bewilderbeast was originally released in 2000, it was met with critical acclaim and won the Mercury Prize that year. The album is both ambitious and extremely entertaining and while it's not a traditional pop album, it's a continually beguiling trip through lo-fi postmodern folk, drawing as much from Harry Nilsson as it does Beck. The album is considered to be Damon Gough's defining work and this edition adds to the album's lore with 13 rare bonus tracks. Billboard called The Hour Of Bewilderbeast, "A wonderfully offbeat blend of atmospheric folk and lo-fi rock that never fails to charm...." while in their inclusion of the album on their top 20 albums of 2000 and one of the 1001 albums you need to hear before you die, Pitchfork hailed that, "a debut this acclaimed is truly a rare feat." To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the release of The Hour Of Bewilderbeast, Badly Drawn Boy performed the classic album in full, plus other hits and favorites, at shows around the UK in 2015.
  24. A new European repress/reissue of Marina's Family Jewels is obviously coming up in August. Some flippers are already offering preorders on Ebay & Discogs based on this information so beware paying an exaggerated amount of money for something that should be a fairly regular release. This Czech site is already offering preoders, the price tag is at about $22. http://www.bontonland.cz/marina-and-the-diamonds-family-jewels-1/ One copy of original vinyl from 2010 sold for $760 on Ebay in July 2015.
  25. Hi, I'm not sure if people here have any interest in 70s reissues, but here's one. This the debut EP by Sweden's The Moderns. This is an obscenely rare 7" from 1979 that was originally self released by the band. Original copies sell for upwards of $500 these days, if you can find one for sale. Available here: www.hoseheadrecords.bigcartel.com Listen here: www.hoseheadrecords.bandcamp.com Fully authorized reissue with full colour artwork and labels, nearly the exact same as the original. This is mod-revival for the ages. Fans of The Jam, The Chords, Pointed Sticks, The Nerves, etc take note. This 7" is most well known for the power pop staple Got To Have Pop:
