  1. Hi all, I've been meaning to complete my Joni Mitchell collection for some time now and I was wondering, for older records, which sounded better: the original pressing or a 180g remastered reissue? I've read around that original UK pressings sound great which from my experience really depends on the condition. I've got OG presses that sound stellar when they're NM but my OG's that are scratched, naturally, sound crappier. Plus being UK-based, it's pretty easy to get my hands on an OG UK pressing. Would the remastered 180g sound better? Perhaps if it was mastered from the original analogue tapes? I know the weight has little to do with it - only adding to the durability. Just wanted to round up some VC opinions on this. Cheers!
  2. Did not see a thread for this so: Lick My Decals Off, Baby, The Spotlight Kid, Clear Spot, plus outtakes "Sun Zoom Spark 1970 to 1972, a new four-vinyl Captain Beefheart box set will be released next month. The collection brings together Lick My Decals Off, Baby from 1970 and The Spotlight Kid and Clear Spot from 1972. Everything has been newly remastered for the first time. What is perhaps of most interest is a fourth bonus disc that features plenty of outtakes; early mixes, alternates, instrumental versions – all previously unreleased. Even better, there is a choice of CD box or vinyl set." Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Sun-Zoom-Spark-Limited-Edition/dp/B00N4FAVCA

  4. So I mentioned this in another thread that this was being worked on back in January. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=470279596364044&set=a.104826489576025.2965.103911536334187&type=1&theater Since Clumsy and You Are Freaking Me Out are seeing reissues and Samiam mentioned this again.... https://www.facebook.com/samiamband/posts/600839036593705 ....I figured its time to pump up this as well. I never gave this album a good chance because the production is too harsh and raw. I hope this is Banner Pilot's Resignation Day because I didn't really realize how amazing it was until they tweaked the recordings. Update 10/3/13! PO is up! Clouds in the Sky or Multi-colored splatter! http://store.noidearecords.com/collections/new-on-no-idea/products/samiam-whatever-s-got-you-down
  5. I'm hoping this isn't another $50+ package, but I'll buy it either way with their track record of instantly selling out and the price tripling used. https://www.facebook...59654256&type=1
