  3. Guys, I have just released three new tapes - both amazing debut albums plus new album for well-known crazy stoners. For fans of sludgy post-metal, to mention Pelican/Neurosis (Black Tundra) and old Mastodon/Baroness (Mano De Piedra). And The Great Machine, name speaks for itself. Check them out, it's really worth it! Rappers Around The World visit worldwide-hiphop.com/ to learn more www.worldwide-hiphop.com BLACK TUNDRA - s/t Cold and despair. Sorrow and beauty. Sludge and doom. Grinding groove of bass and guitars, harsh vocals and tribal drums. http://blacktundra.bandcamp.com MANO DE PIEDRA - Today's Ashes Imagine brutal and oppressive sounds going towards well crafted melodies and calm darkness. Imagine dense guitarsm, devastating rythm section and thrilling vocals. Imagine sound that crushes your guts and groove that moves every inch of your body. Imagine Mano De Piedra. http://manodepiedra.bandcamp.com THE GREAT MACHINE - Greatestits Love driven by riffs, madness beaten by drums. Everything you ever wanted to get in stoner* (*but were afraid to dream). Album that lets you drift away with calm and almost melancholic tones for a while just to make you jump out of your skin due to furious and intensive riffage few moments later. Original, innovative, energetic, versatile call whatever you like - but most important: give it a spin and enjoy the music. The Great Machine rips. https://thegreatmachine1.bandcamp.com Available in store: http://threemoonsrecords.bigcartel.com
  4. My friend and I recently started a DIY tape label. I know, I know, the world doesn't need another tape label. BUT we came up with this idea to put out a charity compilation to help raise funds for COVID-19 health supplies. 100% of the proceeds would go to Project C.U.R.E. Every dollar donated to Project C.U.R.E. goes towards sending medical supplies (face masks, ventilators, protective gear, sanitization products, etc.) to hospitals and emergency medical services in need. Problem is, we don't have a ton of music to actually put on the comp. That's where you all come in. Are you an unsigned musician, or do you know any, who would be interested in donating a track to this comp? We're looking for maybe 10-16 songs to include in it. Any genre. We would release it digitally on Bandcamp, then put up a cassette pre-order. However many pre-orders there are by say, the end of April is how many we'll make. Is this something you all would be interested in? Is this even a good idea? Regardless, you should check out Project C.U.R.E.'s mission for aiding COVID-19, and donate if you can.

  6. The Chinchees are a power pop trio from Minneapolis and their debut album is addictive—like, stupidly addictive. Eleven lo-fi jams laced with simple but thoroughly catchy hooks in the vein of the Marked Men, Tenement, Future Virgins, and Frozen Teens. This is the band's debut. It was originally self-released by the band, but they sold through the first pressing and we jumped at the opportunity to repress it. You need this in your life. 300 pressed on yellow vinyl. (records arrived early. It'll be available in stores on August 4th, but records are shipping from Dirt Cult now) www.dirtcultrecords.com www.dirtcultrecords.bandcamp.com

  10. I cant remember who turned me on to this guy, but his most recent LP appears to still be available, (limited to 100, I think) https://erikblood.bandcamp.com/album/lost-in-slow-motion Produced TacocaTs latest as well as prior albums by Moondoggies and Shabazz Palaces, his solo stuff is Teenage Fanclub mixed with Ride and The Brother Kite, some ambient, some postrock influences, its really really good. His back catalogue really holds up too. Its all ive been listening to for the last few weeks. Anyway, if the tags intrigue you, take a chance on the listen.
  11. Check out Adult Magic. We just released an EP for free download. Members of Iron Chic, Broadcaster, Crow Bait, Sister Kisser, etc. http://www.adultmagic.bandcamp.com thanks! (Dead Broke Rekerds will be releasing a Tape and eventual 7" vinyl of this EP)
  12. One of the best things about music is that specific styles can thrive in several different regions all at the same time. Although we can hear similarities, no two acts sound identical. Drawstring is a perfect example of a band that has taken the emo revival sound and infused it with the perfect amount of London, UK garage rock. Like the perfect cocktail of one half Grown Ups, one half Donots, with some Beach Slang and Moose Blood peppered in to taste. This cassette is a compilation the band's first three EPs and includes a bonus track. You can hear them change and grow their sound from a more twinkly emo revival sound to a more raw and mature 'punch to the chest', similar to the Arizona 'bummer jams' sound coined by Merit and shared with similar acts like Pentimento and Dikembe. These tapes were dubbed, hand painted (with bass guitar strings), assembled, and numbered all in house. There are only 25 copies and each tape comes with the MP3s! A-side: 1. Chicago Town 01:22 2. The band’s sophomore full length is 12 new songs using a sonic pallet drawn as much from bands like Leatherface and Articles of Faith as it is contemporaries like Canadian Rifle, Tenement, and Witches with Dicks. The album is rounded out by a faithful cover of The Mice’s 1986 “Not Proud Of The USA” and illustrations by Shannon Thompson. Mastered by Dave Williams at Eight Floors Above. Members of Earth Girls, Broken Prayer, GIDIM, and more. "Over the course of its five-year existence, Boilerman has become a cornerstone of Chicago’s DIY punk scene… the quintessential Chicago pop-punk band of this decade." - AV Club "...a more contemporary comparison would be that this sounds like the "legit pop-punk" of bands like Tenement (and... is there anyone else who does it well?) filtered through the aesthetic of askew, Die Kreuzen-influenced hardcore bands like Raw Nerve or Nasa Space Universe." - Sorry State Newsletter
  16. Here's a new thread for BOILERMAN news, of which there's been a lot the past few weeks! Yo, the new self-titled BOILERMAN one-sided 10" is up for pre-order now too! Next up is a three song 7". Hold on to your butts.
  17. Alright guys. Pleased to see that we've finally got a cassette section on VC ! I figured I would start a thread for my label, I'll put all of my releases in here rather than starting seperate threads etc... So I started my DIY label Solid 7 Records in January this year. First release was my own band (Speedpig) and have then released a couple local Welsh bands and some from as far as Seattle & LA. Something really cool happened in April, when I approached Dick Valentine (singer of Electric 6) to suggest that he release his latest solo album as a cassette to coincide with his UK tour. He went for it, and it was such a cool experience to put out an album by a guy whose music I have loved for like 12 years, and who I have a huge amount of respect for. Have gained a bit of attention from local media, have done some radio/newspaper interviews. It's been a pretty fun ride so far! Pretty much everything is done DIY style, the only release I had pro-dubbed was the Dick Valentine tape. I print and hand-number the J Cards, dub the tapes etc in house. Tapes can be purchased from my bandcamp at solid7records.bandcamp.com
  18. Hailing from Winnipeg/Edmonton, Canada Boys' Club merges together the perfect blend of US emo revival (think Casper Elgin, Handwriting!) with True North punk (Mockingbird Wish Me Luck, The Sainte Catherines). These cassettes were hand dubbed/painted and come in jewel cases with full color j-cards. Only 25 copies were made, HVR will only have half! Includes digital download or you can hear/download it for free using the link below! Bandcamp - http://bit.ly/1Og5ZNb Order - http://hotvodkarecords.storenvy.com/products/15540663-boys-club-lives-forever *shipping now* 1. Purgatory for Dogs 2. Blue Hair 3. Dolores is Dead (Ft. 19. We made these 3 LPs in our practice space: https://remembertheradio.bandcamp.com These are punk records, but punk like Meat Puppets more so than Minor Threat. We think they are great, especially the rabbit record and the owl record. We're trying to raise about 2K to press the 4th LP and to do it properly with actual printed full color artwork. Thanks for looking!
  20. Finally this beast is available for public consumption. The debut LP from Lexington, KY's THE ELSINORES. Dreamy, post-punk influenced songs that evoke feelings of nostalgia, loss, and hope simultaneously. Comparisons to Husker Du, New Order, Wipers, and early Merchandise would all be alright starting points, but this thing is truly its own unique beast. Perfect production that's full and enveloping rounds everything out. 500 copies on black vinyl, most with screen printed inside-out LP jackets, less with screenprinted fold-over covers, all including an 8 page half-sized zine with lyrics, art, and associated writings about the album and songs therein. This is HKR-014. Released in conjunction with IFB, Karmic Swamp, Dead Tank, and Human Crush. Buy it here: http://hipkidrecords.storenvy.com/collections/42074-all-products/products/6475297-the-elsinores-dreams-of-youth-lp Listen to it/download it here: http://hipkidrecords.bandcamp.com/album/dreams-of-youth

  22. Hey Dudes and Ladydudes- For the first time ever, 2003's Seal Beach is on wax. Pressed it up ourselves. DIY or DIE. Black vinyl, full color printed sleeve inside of a full color printed jacket. $16 + shipping We have 50 signed copies for sale, also for $16, they are going fast. (but don't worry, we have 950+ regular copies that should be around for a while) The only way to get to them for the next day or two will be this link: http://albumleafstore.com/collections/seal-beach So far we've only sent it out to our email list, and posted it here. We are facetweetspacing on Monday. You guys here on these boards have been super supportive on the last few things we've done (forward/return, perils from the sea), so thank you. We appreciate it. Also, for anyone who might be a record store owner/buyer/employee, we have set-up a separate password protected distro online store. Please contact me at [email protected], if you own a store and want to buy at wholesale prices direct from us. Ok cool. Vinyl, yeah, so rad that people are supporting it... it's really fucking awesome for us dudes in bands. Thank you.
  23. Big Dick - Disappointment LP "out" Feb 24th, but since I already have the records I've decided to go ahead and post it on the website. Big Dick return with their second LP! The band is due featuring drums, bass, and dueling vocals from Ottawa, Canada. Named after a NOMEANSNO song, Big Dick has cultivated a sound that borders on progressive punk and post-hardcore, while also gravitating towards both the melodic and absurdly heavy. This is a band equally at ease with their penchant for 90's ear Canadian indie rock as they are with the punk, hardcore, and noise rock bands of the last three decades - the result being a memorable listening experience that breaks down traditional sub-genre party lines. Dissapointment serves as an anthemic celebration of failure and inquietute for fans of Death from Above, Japandroids, and more Stream: punknews Order (limited to 100 on blue vinyl): dirtcultrecords
  24. thought i'd post the new "making of" video for our lastest release from Toothgrinder each jacket is made of fabric - hand cut, acid washed/tie-dyed, then sewn and screen printed... and its probably the only video on the internet w/ metal playing over a sewing machine the vinyl itself is available in 2 colors and also has the cover art screened on the B-side: Limited to 300 (120) - red/white/blue vinyl w/ tie-dyed jacket (180) - doublemint green vinyl w/ acid washed jacket Stream: http://toothgrinder.bandcamp.com/ Vinyl available now: http://www.inthecloudsrecords.com/product/toothgrinder-vibration-colour-frequency
