  1. USE THE CODE VC5 FOR 5% OFF OF YOUR ORDER, CODE IS GOOD FOR LIFE Hey friends. Some of you may already be aware, but me and another user who goes by the name captainaldous have started a record label called Butterfly Puke Records. What started as an experiment has bloomed into something very real, and I could not be more happy about it. The first band we have released anything from is Awe Howler from our hometown in northern Illinois. It's hard to describe their exact style, but I'd say it sounds like a mix of Mineral, Sunny Day, but with obvious modern influence from the likes of Balance & Composure and Brand New. Listen for yourself: http://www.awehowler.bandcamp.com/ Anyways, here comes the good part: we pressed their debut album on vinyl. This has been something I have wanted to do ever since I started collecting vinyl but just never had the money (and still don't ) or real drive to do. Once me and Brandon heard their album, we knew we had to do this. I won't bore you all with descriptions of the album, as I really feel that you should simply listen for yourself. It's fucking great and emotionally taxing. We have pressed the album on orange colored vinyl which is limited to 200 and orange with "butterfly puke" black splatter which is limited to 50 and exclusive to our webstore. The splatter variant comes housed in a die-cut hand-made slip cover which we painted, wax-sealed, and numbered. All of the records comes with a fold over, double sided lyric sheet and a hand-stamped, numbered envelope with a photo print and a download card. Oh, and it also comes with a bag of whole bean coffee and an exclusive pin. Pin, hehe: These will go on sale on today at 11am CST, along with cassette tapes and shirts we had made for the webstore. VC has always been so damn supportive of me and Brandon doing this whole BPR thing, and I love you all. Link to actual webstore: http://www.butterflypukerecords.bigcartel.com/ Standard vinyl will be $13, deluxe will be $18, deluxe bundle with a longsleeve and cassette tape will be $32, and shipping in the US for most things is $4. International will vary.
  2. Hey there, guys and gals of Vinyl Collective! As I've been here a year now, I felt it was time to do a giveaway. I was lucky enough to be chosen winner of Modern Vinyl's Awe Howler contest. The winner received a standard orange copy of Awe Howler's awesome album, Living With Spiders, along with the cassette, and since I already have the deluxe vinyl....I wanted to share the love! This giveaway is simple: Post in this thread saying you want in, and i'll keep a running tally of all entrants. You have until Sunday night at 8:00pm EST to enter. All I ask is for you to cover shipping (est $4ish), which is exclusive to USA only (sorry international peeps). I will pick a random winner using an online generator, and will post in this thread as well as message the winner. And be sure to grab a copy from Butterfly Puke Records. Totally worth it. 3. Hello and Happy 2015, Vinyl Collective! Fellow member Morrissey and I have started up our own little label based out of the Northeastern Illinois/Southeastern Wisconsin area called Butterfly Puke Records and we're super excited to share our first release with you all. Our very talented friends in Awe Howler of Johnsburg, Illinois have finally finished up their newest album "Living With Spiders" and to celebrate that, we are releasing it on a limited edition, hand packed and highly cared for cassette tape as well as releasing their single "Failure to Thrive" on a limited edition lathe-cut 7". The band has put in countless hours creating these amazing songs over the past year. This record is very important to everyone involved, so we thought it was only fitting to try and put in as much work as possible into this release. Stream/download the entire album for free here: http://awehowler.bandcamp.com/album/living-with-spiders Buy the following stuff here: http://www.butterflypukerecords.bigcartel.com/ The first run (/25) of green tapes are housed in a hand stamped and hand numbered envelope and include a hand-written lyric sheet all sealed by a wax Butterfly Puke Records seal. We only have 10 in stock at the moment, because we are selling them at the record release show this Saturday in Johnsburg, Illinois. After that, we will put any extras up. After these deluxe editions are gone, they’re gone. We will be doing another run, but not the same as these! The "Failure to Thrive" single is cut onto a dark blue and violet mix lathe cut 7" housed in a special slip cover and is limited to 20 pieces. These are on their way to us now and we should have them by Monday, the 5th. So any order with a lathe will ship then. There are also 5 bundles for only 8.50 each plus shipping. Awe Howler’s “Housewarming Party” off of “Living with Spiders” THE GIVEAWAY: In celebration of everything, we are doing a nice little giveaway exclusive to Vinyl Collective members. We are giving away 2 tapes and one tape/lathe cut package. EACH winner will also receive an extra 7 inch from either mine or Morrissey’s personal collection. Just post on this thread indicating your entry. It’s a hell of a deal so why not? Let us know what you guys think with any suggestions, thoughts, or comments. We would appreciate it. Enjoy!
