  1. Hi. After making an earlier post, I was told by members that rather than upgrade my LP60, it would be best if I get a new record player altogether. The ATLP60 served me well, and I have enjoyed playing music on it. What would you recommend I get? I have a couple of considerations: 1. I am happy to buy refurbished or used players on EBay, if the price is right. 2. I am ideally after an fully automatic direct drive player, just for ease (I am dyspraxic, so dropping needles will be a dice with death for my LP's) 3. A built in phono preamp would be nice, as that is what I have with my current player. 4. My budget is between 100-250 pounds. Any assistance and advice is greatly appreciated.
  2. Looking for a new turntable for a good price and this one caught my eye but I haven't seen a lot of reviews on it.
  3. Hey guys, I just got a Mitsubishi DA-L90. It has a Phono input section on the back. I have the record player plugged into the phono inputs, and my two fisher monitors plugged into the Rec. Out (L/R). Theres also a CD/Aux. in that i tried plugging the monitors into. When the monitors are plugged into the Rec. out, i can hear the album playing (and not from the needle on the record player) however, you cant control the volume and its extremely faint (just a tiny bit louder than the needle). The volume, balance, and tone controls dont work at all. The Radio is doing the samething: i can slightly hear it coming from the monitors but none of the controls are doing anything. What do i do? Do i have something plugged in to the wrong place? My set up works fine with a different reciever, however i want to use this one because it also hold cassettes. Thanks for the help!!
  4. So I was going to sell my Rega RP3 on here, but after half-assing it for a year I figured it was time I actually throw it on the 'Bay. I also threw my Rega Brio-R integrated amp and a Bluesound Pulse all-in-on streamer up there as well, so check out the links below if you're interested in any of them! 5. Im wanting to get into vinyl collecting, but like a normal 16 year old i dont got tons of cash. I know the best way to listen to vinyl is with a multi thousand dollar set up. but im wondering if i bought a older turntable can i use a adapter to convert it to 3.5mm and then use a headphone amp to convert it to line level so i can use it with my headphones? I might be able to get my hands on something like a kenwood kd-291rc for about $25 is that fair?
  6. Hi, ive been wanting to buy a vinyl player and someone is offering me a technics quartz sl-qd33 along with a Panasonic sa-ht390 reciever for $50. Would i need a preamp? or can i just hook up the record player and the reciever together and start listening with some headphones?
  7. Im getting interested in record players and dont have alot of cash. Someone offered me a optimus system 700 model number 13-1248. I know some of these end up needing new needles and belts but can i still get them for this model? Is this worth $25? Can it be upgraded?
  8. I'll start off with a little bit of back story to catch everyone up. I purchased a Zenith A947 record player about 3-4 months ago. Everything about the record player worked fine at first until just within the last couple weeks me and my friends started noticing that at random moments songs would slow down for just a second before continuing to play like normal. It wasn't until today that one of my friends woke me up saying that the record playing was spinning really slow and now it won't play records correctly at all. I'm wondering if this is a problem with the belt maybe or what could be wrong with it? I can't seem to find out how to take the plate off to see underneath maybe if anyone could help me with that? Thanks!
  9. So here's the bottom line, I'm moving and I decided I wanted to completely get a whole new setup. My price for everything all together is probably going to be roughly $400 - $500. I'm not looking for completely high end stuff, but I am looking for decent stuff that's good. Nothing dirt cheap (though I hear good things about preamps). I'm just looking for some guidance for everything. I need a turntable, preamp, and speakers. Hit me with what you recommend. Thank you in advance!
