  1. UPDATE!! Manchester rolled through last week and played a few songs for us in The Herd studio. Plus, I sat down with them for a quick interview to talk about tour and their love for the NBA. This is the first time we've done anything like this so I'd love any kind of constructive feedback on what you like / how to make it better for next time. Manchester Orchestra - Top Notch & Cope (ESPN Acoustic Sessions) Manchester Orchestra - Interview Manchester Orchestra - SportsNation Chat END UPDATE!! Hello VC friends! On Wednesday I'm bringing Manchester Orchestra through ESPN and I've got a few things planned that I wanted to let everyone know about. We're going to shoot a quick video of them playing a few songs and I'll make sure to pass along the link as soon as we get that up on the site. The reason for this thread is because we're having them do a SportsNation chat and I was hoping to generate some interest for the guys. It's looking like the chat will be at 2:30pm ET (though that's tentative) and you'll be able to talk to the guys about pretty much anything. It'll be moderated so you'll have to keep it clean (nothing NSFW), but it should be a ton of fun. If you can't make the chat but you still have a question that you're wanting to ask them, send it along as a reply and I'll do my best to take a few of the questions and ask them in the interview I'll be doing with them as well. Obviously my bosses are looking for sports questions, but send along anything you'd like and we'll see what we can do. My goal is to start making this a "thing" when I know bands are coming through the New York / Boston area and I'm stoked Manchester was kind enough to let me borrow them for their day off. Hopefully this one goes well and that'll help convince the higher ups that this is something worth doing on a semi-regular basis. As soon as I have a definitive time for the chat I'll let you guys know so you can try and make it. Thanks for any and all help in trying to make this trial run with "ESPN the Music" a successful one!
  2. As the title says, looking for the RAGC trilogy set, willing to pay a good amount, but not outrageous. PM
  3. Chris Staples (Twothirtyeight, Discover America) has released a comp called After The Beep: A Compilation Recorded on Phones. It's completely free and includes songs from Staples, Andy Hull (Manchester Orchestra, RAGC!), Denison Witmer, Telekenesis and more. Staples' song, Cindy, Diana, Janet, Wanda is also available on the American Soft vinyl we released earlier this year. Here's a short description of the idea... I've been thinking, if a song is great you could record it on a walkman, or whatever is laying around and the soul of that great song will be communicated. It doesn't matter what kind of paper a great book is printed on as long as you can read it. Thats the analogy I always use. Anyway, all these songs were recorded on cell phones and nothing else. I have many very talented musicmaker friends, so thanks to them for participating. Please share with your friends and thanks for stopping by! Also, special thanks to Dog On Fire for making the artwork. It's at least worth checking out cause it's free! http://chrisstaples.bandcamp.com/album/after-the-beep-a-compilation-recorded-on-phones
