  1. Has anyone else seen this vinylart.co? It's a company based out of the UK. They make custom 7" and 10" records and are able to get the licensing to over 22 million tracks. My question is, how is this legal? Or is it actually illegal here in the US? I'm just so intrigued because I asked them if they could press some specific Blink-182 songs and they said they could get the licensing for those tracks. Anyway, just trying to figure it out because there's not too much information about them except like two videos on Youtube (where they pressed their own recordings, which makes legal sense), and on their actual website.
  2. Bitter Melody Records is excited to announce that we have partnered with Chris Taylor to create a series of fine art prints for his work. Chris is probably best known as the vocalist of Pg. 99 and Pygmy Lush, but his art is instantly recognizable by fans of heavy music, he has created iconic album artwork for Pig Destroyer, Darkest Hour, Pg. 99, Planes Mistaken for Stars, and many others. We have kicked around this idea of creating art prints for his work for about five years, but it has finally come together for us to start our print series. The first two screen prints in the series have already been produced, they are available at the Pg. 99 reunion shows now. We have split this print run in half. The online half will be available this week at the store link below on Thursday at 11am EST. The rest of this series will likely be sold online through Bitter Melody Records. "I Know Ya" is 18" X 24" and "I For an I" is 19" x 19" - Both are signed and numbered out of 50. Printed on Black Licorice Pop Tone French Paper 100lb Cover stock. It will be shipped in a Yazoo Mills tube wrapped in craft paper. For more information on the series and to stay in the loop you can follow Bitter Melody on Facebook and Instagram. @bitter_melody_records IG facebook.com/ bittermelodyrecords Store - http://bittermelodyrecords.limitedrun.com Here are some process pics before trimming. These look amazing in person.

  4. Hey cuties! I'm heading out to Denver next week and will also be traveling through to Boulder and Estes Park, and was hoping y'all could shoot me some suggestions of your favorite things to check out in any of those areas? From what I've gathered, Wax Trax and Twist and Shout will probably be on the agenda, but if there's anything fun/kooky/interesting to see, I'd love to hear about it! Any advice/suggestions are greatly appreciated! Some notes: Vegetarian suggestions would be cool, but any restaurant is fine, too Not intending to smoke, and what drinking we do is pretty limited, but again, suggestions welcome! Dark beers + whiskey are favorites Won't have too much time for snowboarding, but 3-4 hour hikes/excursions are doable!

  8. Stumbled upon this just now, listening to the stream on NPR and it is blowing me away. Checked out to see if it was being released on vinyl and it sure is...in a special edition too... details below: FFO.. I don't really know, godspeed? obscure folk groups? Lots of instruments in this album, baritone sax, tenor sax, clarinet, guitars, strings, wonderful chanting vocals, just got to listen to it to get the feel. 9. Hey guys! I'm opening up a small vinyl and high-end/vintage audio store in Toronto, Canada within the next month! My plan is to stock vinyl from art/indie labels, usually small and limited run stuff that you can't really find anywhere else. I already have the following labels on board, but am running out of names! If you guys can suggest your faves that I should contact, that would be great! Also, if anyone is in the Toronto area, be sure to let me know and I can send you a quick update once we open. - Graveface Records - People in a Position to Know (PIAPTK) Records - Jigsaw Records - Polyvinyl Record Co. (In contact with Kindercore and Mexican Summer, but no response/no deal finalized as of yet) Cheers and all the best! Julian
  10. There's a few Daniel Danger prints I want. I'm well aware that these can be rare. Got into the guy's work way too late. Hoping someone has some that they might consider getting rid off, for CASH or maybe a record TRADE? Even if you don't have one on the list, let me know of others (not looking for them movie ones) -hear. -you push and pull like wolves at the door -has thou slain the jabberwock -escape. -regardless of everything, i came to know you as a relic -we wait out the storm Thanks everyone!
  11. I'm not selling a record so I figured it wasn't appropriate for the Buy/Sell/Trade board, but I have an old Tom Waits portrait I drew for a couple of people about a year ago. Unfortunately, money became an issue and poor little Waits still has no home, so I thought I'd put him up for sale on here since the VC community tends to appreciate art/the arts/whatever a lot more than most people I know "irl." He's done in charcoal, so black and white, on 11x14" bristol paper. $100 asking, but I'm sure we can work other things out too. Serious inquiries only! Message me if interested.
  12. Hello good people of VC. Just a random question. I've become interested in Esao Andrews artwork after discovering he did the album covers for Circa Survive. I'm just wondering if all his prints are limited. I'd really like to track down his prints and buy some, but all I've found are $200+ on ebay. Does he sell them himself, and if so where? Any answers to these or any general information about him or his artwork at all would be appreciated! Thanks!
  13. I'm looking for artists that do work similar to that of Alex Pardee and Aaron Crawford with an obvious love for cult and classic horror films and television shows; e.g. Night of the Creeps, The X-Files, Basket Case, Fright Night. I'm primarily interested in prints so I'm trying to find artists with online stores that have affordable work for sale. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  14. I looked around for a thread that covered this topic and came up with bits and pieces, but nothing dedicated. Here it goes... I'm looking for affordable and unique art for my apartment around the internet. Not necessarily band prints (although not opposed to it), but cool pieces by independent artists. Ideally, art that's already framed, canvas prints, or reasonably sized prints. I'm trying to avoid paying for custom framing, only because I can't really afford it. I was checking out Society6.com. There's some cool stuff on there that seems reasonable, and reviews around the internet seem to say that the reproductions are really good quality. Anyone ever use them? Anyone have any advice or rad resources?
  15. Its 24x36. $55 (which is less than I paid) and I'll throw in FREE shipping to you. PM me if you're interested!
  16. Does anyone on VC use tumblr? If so post your URL, I'm sure I'd like to follow some of your blogs. My blog is mostly weed, art, and random stuff. Follow me and I'll most likely follow back. Check it out: http://johnbohaha.tumblr.com/
  17. Hey! So I decided to make a new thread with all of my current pieces. These all have the proper sizes and names. As some of you might know I've been working on some more art using primarily records (and record covers, adapters, jukebox strips, etc...). Again, forgive the photo quality, I didn't have a proper set up or a diffuser, they were rushed. The grooves look awesome in real life. I'll post a few at a time, so look throughout the thread! BLACK SKULL, 2013, grey marble and black vinyl records on wood, 16 x 20 inches. YOU DRIVE US WILD, WE'LL DRIVE YOU CRAZY, 2013, black, red and yellow vinyl records on hardboard. I LOVE ROCK AND ROLL, 2013, photographic print, red vinyl records, 16 x 20 inches. GOLD SKULL, 2013, black and gold marble vinyl records on wood,16 x 20 inches. I DON'T WANT NO OTHER LOVE, 2013, vinyl LP cover, black and white vinyl records, 16 x 20 inches. HI-FI STEREO SOUND, 2013, black and red vinyl records, acrylic on wood, 18 x 18 inches.
