  1. Anyone here enjoy cooking? I'm looking to expand my cooking horizons and collection of cookbooks on hand. Anyone have suggestions of cookbooks that they have a like? Two that I've been referencing quite a bit lately are Sean Brock's Heritage and Rick Bayless' Authentic Mexican.
  2. Hey everyone. I. Love. Burgers. Ever since I was a young lad they've been my favorite food. I know as a grown-ass adult I should probably like something else more, but I don't. Come in here to talk about your favorite burger. Recipes, post 'em. Favorite burger someplace? Tell us. I'd really like to know good places to go to get burgers too! I'll start it off. Here in Portland, OR there are a couple great places to get burgers. Killer Burger: Awesome burgers here, great fries too! I like their Jose Mendoza, Black Molly, and Peanut Butter burgers best. Wifey is partial to the classic. Produce Row: This place has other good stuff too, but I loooooove their house burger or whatever it's called. It has some kind of mustard-y sauce on it that is awesome. Again, great fries. Little Big Burger: Almost sliders here, but they're still 1/4 lb patties. Their ketchup used to be better before they started making their own actual "ketchup" part. It used to be Heinz mixed with honey and sriracha...omg. So good. I actually think I like swiss on my burgers here. I'm drawing a blank right now, but I'll add more when I remember them! I'd like to try Boogie's Burgers. If anyone has been there, lemme know what's up. Your burger buddy, John
  3. I'm heading out on a 8 night, 9 day road trip across the great American Southwest on Friday. Points of interest are Albuquerque, NM Grand Canyon, AZ Ventura, CA Big Sur, CA Santa Clarita, CA Zion National Park, UT Pagosa Springs, CO Palo Duro Canyon, TX In Albuquerque, Ventura, Santa Clarita, and Pagosa Springs we have nothing planned out. I'm looking for suggestions on what to do and where to eat cheap and locally [no chains] on these routes. Also, any beer suggestions from local breweries to try while I'm out are more than welcome.
  4. Post your builds! -Chunck white tuna in water, drained, seasoned with salt, pepper, onion powder, and bacon salt. -Wheat bread, toasted. -Top tuna with grated cheddar cheese, salted cucumber slices, and lettuce. I know a dude who crushes up Hot Cheetos and mixes it with his tuna, pushing the boundaries of all sandwichery.

Covers screen printed by AESTHETIC PRINT & DESIGN. 106 hand-numbered copies on olive green vinyl. Go! TOP SHELF INTERVIEW with CHRIS COLOHAN http://www.leadusdown.com/2013/02/the-top-shelf-presents-the-swarm-parasitic-skies/ About The Top Shelf Dave Drobach and Matt Sweeting can talk about records. They have experience that can only come from combined decades of touring in numerous bands and working at a record label. No Idea’s finest bring in the creators of great albums we have all come to love, to sit down, reflect and reminisce on these recordings. There are three pieces to a Top Shelf interview. The interview team of Dave and Matt, a band member and the vinyl record itself. The record is played in its entirety, stopped in between songs to discuss the writing, recording and touring that happened around the record. Top Shelf session interviews are recorded live in the Grow Radio studios during the weekly show they run called “2nd Avenue Shuffle.” These are your favorite albums, with commentary found nowhere else. Archived monthly at Lead Us Down.
