  4. I am putting out a new record by the band SALVATION from Chicago. It is very good. The record turned out very cool. The pre-order is open now and it'll ship in a couple weeks. One random order will get a TEST PRESSING included as a bonus (cut-off for that is next Friday, February 10th at midnight CST). Get on it! SALVATION - Sore Loser LP Blending together elements of noise rock, punk, and grunge, Chicago’s SALVATION has cultivated a rare sound that is injected with strikingly inventive vocals and instrumentation. With their 2017 Forge Again Records nine-song debut LP Sore Loser, SALVATION further refines the sound found on their 2015 Cold Slither Tapes release Royal Fucks. Like their previous effort, Sore Loser was recorded completely live, showcasing the band’s raw fervor and painstaking attention to performance perfection and detail. The vocals are raw and commanding, seeming to simultaneously invoke both aggression and agony. The rhythm section remains the strong, sludgy backbone of the album, driving each song forward as the vocals ebb, flow, and meander throughout. Sore Loser was recorded by Joe Gac at Kildare Studios and mastered by Carl Saff with cover art by Smith Smith. The first pressing of the LP is limited to just 311 (jah bless) copies on random colored vinyl. The picture above is merely a sample of some of the crazy colors in there. They all look and sound great, and we can't guarantee you'll get any particular color, but we'll send the craziest and coolest looking ones out to the earliest orders. Oh and one random order will get a TEST PRESSING! The official release date is March 31, 2017 but pre-orders will start shipping in mid-February. You can hear the first track from the album "True Romance" and pre-order the record NOW on Bandcamp! Stream/Download/Pre-order:https://forgeagainrecords.bandcamp.com/album/sore-loser
  5. Hello Vinyl Collective board! Sunday Drive Records is an independent record label based in Texas. All of our releases thus far have been on cassette, so we've been mainly active on the cassette board. However, we've announced our first vinyl release today (which can be found below), so I thought it would be appropriate to start a vinyl thread for Sunday Drive Records for our future vinyl releases. If you're a fan of cassettes as well, you can check out all of our previous releases here and follow our cassette thread. Stream all of our releases and download them on our bandcamp. Thanks for reading, and hope you all enjoy the news that will be announced on this thread!

  9. Alright guys. Pleased to see that we've finally got a cassette section on VC ! I figured I would start a thread for my label, I'll put all of my releases in here rather than starting seperate threads etc... So I started my DIY label Solid 7 Records in January this year. First release was my own band (Speedpig) and have then released a couple local Welsh bands and some from as far as Seattle & LA. Something really cool happened in April, when I approached Dick Valentine (singer of Electric 6) to suggest that he release his latest solo album as a cassette to coincide with his UK tour. He went for it, and it was such a cool experience to put out an album by a guy whose music I have loved for like 12 years, and who I have a huge amount of respect for. Have gained a bit of attention from local media, have done some radio/newspaper interviews. It's been a pretty fun ride so far! Pretty much everything is done DIY style, the only release I had pro-dubbed was the Dick Valentine tape. I print and hand-number the J Cards, dub the tapes etc in house. Tapes can be purchased from my bandcamp at solid7records.bandcamp.com
  10. A newly remastered reissue of Steel Pole Bath Tub's 'Tulip' is out today. It has new art and is remastered by Bob Weston, Noah Landis of Neurosis and Mike Morasky. http://bit.ly/1UHYRbU
  11. Hello everyone. We're posting in this board in hopes to interest you all in some great bands, and sale some of their albums that are released through us on cassette tapes. It is very important for us to boost our sales at this point in order to help with our future releases. Below you will find links to album streams and links to purchase a tape. Each order contains unique items, so be sure to view each one to see what you're getting! Thanks for viewing this, and we hope you enjoy the music we are releasing. Grandview - Everything Between Paint and a Wall (FFO: Citizen) Originally released in the winter of 2013, Grandview amazed many with their outstanding LP, Everything Between Paint and a Wall. The album evolves from their previous EP into a much more mature sounding album, with each track flowing perfectly into the next. Each song is very well crafted and has its own unique sense of raw emotion in both lyrics and instruments. This is an important album to many of us here at Sunday Drive Records and we are glad that we have the opportunity to reissue it on cassette tape. Album Stream Buy the tape Post Modern - The Current (FFO: Moving Mountains, Circa Survive) Post Modern's debut EP, "The Current" consists of 5 well written songs that flow perfectly well together. The listener can hear an influence of acts such as All Day The Holiday and mixes of post-hardcore & post-rock that all create a unique sound that individualizes Post Modern as a whole. The EP is extremely well produced by Moving Mountains’ Gregory Dunn and is available on cassette tape for the first time. Album Stream Buy the tape New Lives - In Passing (FFO: Superheaven, Pentimento, HUM) The debut EP from New Lives, In Passing consists of 5 well-written tracks filled with great emotion delivered in a genre of alternative-rock/grunge that will only leave its listener wanting to hear more from the band. New Lives is a fair new band in 2015 from St.Louis, MO but seem to have captured a sound that bands take years to develop. This is not a EP you want to miss out on, and it is now available on cassette tape for the very first time. Album Stream Buy the tape Follow our official label thread here
  12. These guys just put out their sophmore album.. and killed it, again. Death Sweats is here! https://warbaby.bandcamp.com/ http://warbabymusic.com/ here's a promo blurb from their first record, the amazin 'Jesus Horse' "Between the feral cries and fuzzed-out feedback attack of Jon Redditt, Brock Allen’s wriggling bass groove and the giddy drum pummeling of Kirby Fisher, comparisons to Nirvana are inevitable. Jesus Horse's first catchy aggro-pop single "Dentada," for instance, navigates a Bleach-soaked loud-quiet-loud arrangement that proves the young Vancouver act have definitely been paying attention in "School." But despite an obvious appreciation for arguably the most famous Pacific Northwest power trio, textures of Melvins' sludge metal sluggyness and the ominous influence of Black Sabbath dial themselves into the band's distorted patchwork." and here is a music video from their first album https://vimeo.com/64033138 Their new record comes complete with a spooky board game, reminicent of those sweet board games of the 90's that incorporated a VHS tape "host". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmSyIjGBkAA and here is a song from the new album... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWcXV-xXzJw
  13. CANCERS "Missed / Helpless" one-side 7" with screened b-side Very limited (180 copies) one-sided 7" from Athens' Cancers. Stereogum puts it best: "The new single from the Athens, GA-based duo represents a break from what they’ve done before, a shift away from the more straight-forward grunge of their debut album, Fatten The Leeches, in favor of a noisier and more chaotic direction. Punishing drum machine loops give it a cavernous feeling, Lenny Miller’s voice reflects back on itself and paints a picture of abject loneliness. It’s distorted and messy; a gnarly, twisted thing that heaves around with little regard for form, interested more in function. It’s really great." About 50 copies left of the regular edition, available here: http://debtoffensiverecs.bigcartel.com/product/cancers-missed-helpless-one-sided-7-pre-order Test press edition also available, down to about 6 copies left (of 22): http://debtoffensiverecs.bigcartel.com/product/cancers-missed-helpless-7-test-press-edition https://debtoffensiverecords.bandcamp.com/
  14. A whole new release for Solar Flare Records, new album by NYC Noise Hardcore Power Trio FASHION WEEK is now available : ORDER SLF018 :: FASHION WEEK - Prêt-à-Porter LP, CD & Digital LISTEN TO THE ALBUM IN ITS ENTIRETY ON INVISIBLE ORANGES COMMANDER ICI In the late 1980s Fashion Week established itself as part of the New York noise scene, releasing its first album Clorox for the independent record label Under Pop in 1989. The band eventually came to develop a sound that relied on dynamic contrasts, often between pummeling verses and loud, catchy choruses. After signing to major label David Muffin Records, Fashion Week found unexpected success with “Smells Like Old Spice”, the first single from the band’s second album Fuhgeddaboudit (1991). Fashion Week’s sudden success widely popularized alternative rock as a whole, and as the band’s frontman Lozano found himself referred to in the media as the “spokesman of a generation”, with Fashion Week being considered the “flagship band” of Generation X. Fashion Week’s third studio album In Uterus (1993), challenged the group’s audience, featuring an abrasive, less-mainstream sound. TRACKLIST : 1. Fendi Bender 2. Chorusace 3. Meek Is Miznabble 4. Summer Line 5. Fur Free Friday 6. Klosstrophobia 7. “FASHION”=~S/(\$)/COLLAPSE/GSO; 8. Haute Topic Fashion Week’s brief run ended following the death of Josh Lozano in 1994, but various posthumous releases have been issued since, overseen by Rodriguez, Eklof, and Lozano’s widow Catherine Lust. Since its debut, the band has sold over 25 million albums in the United States alone, and over 50 million worldwide. Eklof went on to form the highly acclaimed “Food Fighters”, and Rodriguez has pursued a career in politics, and wedding crashing. 15. Tape Rec - Death Friends LP is finally out on IFB Records. Tape Rec hails from Rio, Brasil and plays a perfect type of 90's style grunge/pop/punk. This thing has all the influences that any kid getting into music in the 90's could want, from the stripped down lo-fi sound of the Breeders and Butterglory, complete with noised out mania ala Sonic Youth, all with the catchiest hooks ever. The vocals are pure sugary gold, and there are even Screeching Weasel style guitar leads here and there. Seriously this is just the catchiest, most infectious record I've heard in forever with a perfect raw production - no polish here - to please the punk heart. These are $14 ppd alone, or $10 in an order from the IFB Records distro - www.ifbrecords.com Listen to this record at their bandcamp http://taperec.bandcamp.com/album/death-friends
  16. I just got this in the mail today and realized there was no topic started for it, so: Teen Death - Crawling 7" Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, TEEN DEATH have quickly made a name for themselves as one of the bands to watch calling this thriving scene home. BrooklynVegan described them best, saying "Teen Death sound like they've thrown Nirvana, Weezer, and Dillinger Four into a blender..." They pack the punk punch, yet maintain an infectious sense of melody, all layered over with a great grungy vibe. While relatively unknown, it's not uncommon for a crowd of back-of-the-room beer-sippers to make their way to the front after TEEN DEATH wail through their first song, making it nearly impossible not to bob your head along. 17. MURMURS- "Bound" LP "Seattle, Washington's kings of crusty pop-punk are back with their first official full-length album. Last year saw the vinyl release of the bands' debut batch of songs titled, "Fly With The Unkindness" (Dead Broke Rekerds). Well, Murmurs are back and are here to kick the goddamn door in with, "Bound". Drawing from earlier pop-punk influences (ranging from the East Bay to the Northwest), the band pushes further on with their dark, urgent & poppy melodic tones. All while churning it up with a chunk of fuzzed-out grunge rock, this time around. If you weren't a believer before, then you will be now. An outstanding effort & one of our favorite records of the year, straight up. (Members of: Snuggle, Pipsqueak, No Hi-Fives To Bullshit, Transient & more.) Coming August/September 2014. Listen to "The Void" here: http://noisey.vice.com/blog/murmurs-the-void-song-premiere Pre-order for Teal/Turquoise Color Vinyl (Limited to 100) available here: http://www.deadbrokerecords.com

  19. EDIT: Both records finally sold. Sorry! I've decided to sell my extra copies of Nirvana's In Utero as well as Unplugged In New York released by Original Recordings Group (ORG). These pressings are widely considered the definitive pressings of these recordings to-date and I can personally attest that the sound quality, clarity, and pressing quality is absolutely top-notch. I absolutely consider these a must-own for any fan of Nirvana that wants to experience the best listening experience these recordings have to offer. I have one sealed copy of In Utero. This is the limited edition 180g Neon Yellow vinyl that was pressed by Pallas in Germany. Relatively difficult to find especially in sealed condition. (Discogs - http://www.discogs.com/release/4297165) I also have one unsealed copy of Unplugged In New York. This is the limited edition 180g Clear Red vinyl that was pressed at RTI in the United States. This record has only been played twice on each side and has been carefully cleaned and stored in a MOFI inner sleeve since opening it. It includes the printed insert and also the promo sticker that was on the original plastic wrapping. Both the record and jacket are in NM- condition (probably closer to mint but I'm never comfortable listing as such) according to Goldmine standards. (Discogs - http://www.discogs.com/release/2053200) I want to offer these to everyone here at Vinyl Collective before considering putting them on eBay or Discogs to sell since these are rather rare to come by, especially still sealed, and I figured some true fans might find these worth picking up. Feel free to PM me with offers and we can go from there. Thanks in advance!
  20. Hi everybody! Just FYI, this thread will serve as a catch-all for Parallel Resonance releases. With that said, Parallel Resonance (controlthebleeding and myself) has just released our 2nd tape, this time by the AZ band Shovel. 6 tracks, 100 copies made, blah blah blah...grab a copy and be cooler than your friends. "Rhythmic melodic pop to noise destruction and chaotic endings. Angelic vocals to primal screams. Pulsating drums to splintered wood. Swirling and driving beats come together with sensibilities not to far from indie bands of the early 90s. If you enjoy this you'll get Shovel. Bands that we sound like are Babes in Toyland , Sonic Youth, Hole, Velvet Underground ,Lydia Lunch , Pixies, Breeders, with no wave influences. Swans and Melvins inspired." Listen: http://shovelnoise.bandcamp.com/ Buy: http://parallelresonance.bigcartel.com/product/shovel-s-t Parallel Resonance releases: RLC001 - Graven Rite - The Summoner's Pit Demo - SOLD OUT RLC002 - Shovel - Shovel - AVAILABLE NOW!!!
