  1. Hello everyone! My name is Jonathan and I recently started an independent record label based in San Antonio, TX called, Sunday Drive Records (Inspired by The Early November song). I was looking around on the forum and noticed Bryan from Flesh and Bone and other labels I enjoy have their own thread, so I would like to make one for Sunday Drive Records as well so people will be able to see any new announcements I make. With that being said, I wanted to introduce my label to everyone on here and announce some news: We recently joined the band Frontage and will be releasing their new EP, "Disillusioned" on cassette tape. The release is limited to 50 tapes, 25 on Blue-tint and 25 on Clear-Gray. The tapes will be professionally dubbed, have full color J-Cards, come with free stickers/buttons/newsletter, and also a DIY lyric book made by myself, that includes copies of handwritten lyrics. I'd greatly appreciate it if you would check out our site, listen to Frontage and keep up with our updates by following us! Thank you for your time. 2. Im very excited & proud to announce my new record label Greenway Records! This has been a few years in the making and everything is finally coming together. I plan on making this label very musically diverse and hope to release a lot of great new up and coming bands that rock the fuck out for you to enjoy. GWY-001 is a 7" from a local New York punk band The Young Rochelles (https://www.facebook.com/TheYoungRochelles). To celebrate the first release and the brand new label i am running a contest to win a test pressing! Contest #1 (Win a Test Press of GWY-001): Step 1: Go "Like" Greenway Records on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/greenwayrecords) Step 2: "Share" the contest #1 post Step 3: comment on that post Thats it! your entered to win! Want an extra entry and use instagram? Find us on instagram @greenwayrecords (http://instagram.com/greenwayrecords) and follow the instructions on the contest post for a second entry. This contest will run till midnight Dec 15th and i will announce a winner on the 16th! I will post more information specific to GWY-001 release and all the exciting things i have planned, i went all out with this release to make it really special and everything i would personally want to see in an awesome 7" thats also a collectors item. The test presses just arrived late last week so we are well on our way. Thank you to everyone on this forum for inspiring me to do this and follow my dream to start my own label, I've made so many friends here over the years and had the pleasure chasing my passion here and its been awesome.

  5. Hey everyone! I've finally decided to take the leap and start a small label - Flesh and Bone Records. I've been releasing my own music for over 10 years and helping friends with their projects as well, and now I want to continue to grow my vision. A little info - After touring the country and world extensively with my band Deadhorse, as well as helping found and run a region wide collaborative zine entitled Broken Teeth, I started Flesh and Bone. For the last 2 and a half years, Flesh and Bone has been the umbrella to encompass all of my creative endeavors. I make a living by doing graphic design and custom 1" buttons for bands, businesses, organizations, labels and individuals all over the world. I've worked with over 600 different clients, and I've seen so many people sharing their visions, ideas, music, art, creations and life in our partnerships together. I want to take that vision one step farther, and turn this into a record label. I'e been inspired by all of the wonderful people I've been working with, that I want that to continue to grow and flourish, and I feel like this is the avenue I want to go down at this point in time, and couldn't be more excited about it. Due to the nature of these endeavors and the DIY mentality that will be behind this, I'm starting small. I want to take baby steps to grow and develop this idea over time, and not jump in head first. With that being said, this will start with all digital and custom tape releases as far as music is concerned. I am also interested in putting out zines, books and other creative projects from artists of all sorts. I'm partnering with a friend that does amazing work with tapes, much like you see with records this day in age - transparent hazes, three color swirls, split half colors, the works. There hasn't been a lot of this that I have seen across the board within the "tape" revival, but his custom creations are quite exciting, and I'm honored to be doing things like this. We'll find unique options for every release that compliment the artwork always. If everything goes as planned at the moment, I will be launching everything this summer. I want to start with 3-6 releases all at the same time. Non-genre specific, this label will rather focus on the mentality of the artists involved. This idea is about creating a family of musicians, artists, writers and other creatives that already know what it's like to hold themselves up with their own efforts, those who know what it's like to pioneer into releases, tours, and all creative projects with their own two hands, not relying on anything else. I'm not here to take over and provide you with all the answers, the right connections, the "label promises" of a bygone era, but rather to house a family, and be of service to helping your creative vision grow. The objective is to then release vinyl down the line, and the first vinyl releases will be collaborative efforts with some partner labels, but that will be a little later in the game. I already have some exciting artists I plan on working with, and we're already figuring out details for the releases, but I'm still open to all ideas, suggestions, and submissions. I want to know what you're doing, and if we connect, who knows what sort of things we could accomplish together. Send your submissions to [email protected] if you're interested!
  6. hey guys, long time no speak. from 2007 - 2012 i was a very regular poster in the VC community. those of you who know me probably know me as one of the crazy alkaline trio collectors. those of you who don't know me, i also like michael jordan and hash browns. yesterday was the 2 year anniversary of my starting a record label, Artistic Integrity Records. i've done a few vinyl releases, a few digital only releases, and a few CDs in the past two years. i've got some awesome things in the works for 2014, and to make it easier for everybody to keep up with what i'm working on, i made a bandcamp page for the label. www.artisticintegrityrecords.bandcamp.com is the link. every song ever released on AIR is in there and you can stream them all for free. you can also download almost all of them all for free, or you can pay a couple bucks for anything if you want. there's tons of merch available, from posters to rare vinyl. most importantly, we're keeping our 3-year tradition of releasing something awesome on New Year's Day alive! this year's installment is a live set from Mikey Erg that we recorded at Township in Chicago back during Riot Fest. it's a totally fun set, and if you download it, you'll get a digital cd booklet with some bonus pictures and information. for those of you that remember the old VMLive 7" series that were recorded by The Vindictives in the mid-90s in Chicago, yes that's what i'm referencing here. i'm trying to re-imagine those releases and this Mikey Erg set is the second issue in my series so far. the first one was a band called Purple from Beaumont, Texas that was recorded at Fireside Bowl. both of them are available for free download at the bandcamp page. limited edition CDs are coming soon for the Mikey Erg set, and next month we'll be releasing our tribute to The Get Up Kids! 2014 is already off to an awesome start, so keep coming back and we'll keep having cool shit for you. happy new year, everybody!
  7. Here’s the first show! Dan Vapid is my guest and we chatted about his metal roots and how it led to punk rock, his vast history of bands, and what’s going on with Dan Vapid and The Cheats. If you are in a band, go to the page to submit your band for inclusion in the show! http://whoacast.com/2013/06/03/episode-1-dan-vapid/ Thanks! -- Mizzi
  8. Hello board, This is my first post. Recently my record label has gotten it's shit together and we're finally selling our material more frequently. I have no idea how to handle pricing international orders. I have someone in japan who wants to buy 4 tapes and I have someone in Sweeden who wants to buy 4 records. What is the best and cheapest way to send these? Are there quick ways to estimate these costs? I am sure there has been threads about this already, but I am new. Word up! This forum seems rad.
